Rakhi Sawant slams Kangana Ranaut over student protest remarks

Actor and television personality Rakhi Sawant has strongly criticized fellow actress and politician Kangana Ranaut following her controversial remarks about student protesters. Kangana’s comments, made after the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, have sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many accusing her of insulting young people who participated in the demonstrations.

The controversy began when Kangana reacted to the protests by sharing a message on Instagram in which she referred to the student protesters using derogatory language. Her comments quickly drew criticism from internet users, who described the remarks as offensive and disrespectful toward the country’s youth.

Among those speaking out against Kangana was Rakhi Sawant, who publicly condemned the actress in a video shared on Instagram. Rakhi did not hold back her criticism, calling Kangana a “chudail,” a Hindi word that translates to “witch,” while accusing her of repeatedly making insulting statements about ordinary people.

In her video, Rakhi defended the students and questioned Kangana’s comments about young women participating in the protests. She said that the daughters and students of the country deserve respect rather than criticism and urged public figures to choose their words responsibly.

Rakhi also questioned Kangana’s political standing and challenged her popularity among the public. She argued that true leadership comes from earning people’s trust and support instead of making controversial statements that offend citizens.

Addressing Kangana directly, Rakhi said, “What did you do to become an MP? If you ever contest elections again, you may not receive people’s support. Why are you speaking like this about the girls of our country? Why are you insulting our students and our daughters?”

The outspoken actress further alleged that such remarks damage the image of public representatives and create unnecessary divisions. She insisted that celebrities and politicians should encourage young people instead of discouraging or insulting them.

Rakhi also referred to the incident that took place at Chandigarh Airport in 2024, when Kangana was slapped by a security staff member following her controversial comments about farmers. While condemning violence, Rakhi suggested that repeated provocative statements could continue to attract strong public reactions if such behavior does not change.

She warned Kangana that making inflammatory remarks against different sections of society could lead to growing public anger, adding that respect for citizens is essential for anyone holding public office.

The exchange has generated intense debate across social media platforms, with users expressing divided opinions. While many supported Rakhi’s criticism and defended the student protesters, others argued that public disagreements between celebrities should remain respectful despite political differences.

As the controversy continues, neither Kangana Ranaut nor her team has issued a fresh response to Rakhi Sawant’s latest comments. However, the incident has once again placed both actresses at the center of a heated online discussion, highlighting the growing scrutiny surrounding statements made by public figures on political and social issues.

Why did Trump share Muhammad Ali’s iconic fi…

US President Donald Trump has ignited widespread debate on social media after sharing footage of Muhammad Ali’s legendary “Rumble in the Jungle” boxing match against George Foreman, prompting users to speculate about the message behind the post. The iconic 1974 heavyweight title fight is regarded as one of the greatest contests in boxing history. Trump’s decision to post the famous bout quickly attracted attention, with many users questioning whether it carried a political message related to ongoing tensions with Iran or was aimed at domestic American politics. The White House has not issued any statement explaining the context of Trump’s post, leaving room for widespread speculation online. The “Rumble in the Jungle,” held in Kinshasa, then Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo), remains one of the most memorable moments in sporting history. During the fight, George Foreman appeared dominant in the early rounds, repeatedly landing powerful punches while Ali relied on his now-famous “rope-a-dope” strategy. Instead of engaging aggressively, Ali absorbed Foreman’s attacks while leaning against the ropes, conserving energy and allowing his opponent to tire himself out. By the eighth round, Foreman had slowed significantly, giving Ali the opportunity to launch a stunning counterattack that ended with a dramatic knockout victory. Trump’s decision to revisit the historic fight has divided social media users. Some interpreted the post as a symbolic message about patience, strategy and turning the tide against a stronger opponent. Others argued it may have been intended to comment on current geopolitical developments, while another group believed it was linked to US political dynamics ahead of upcoming policy battles. Despite the growing online discussion, Trump has not clarified the purpose of sharing the video. As speculation continues, the post has once again brought Muhammad Ali’s legendary triumph back into the global spotlight, reminding sports fans why the “Rumble in the Jungle” remains one of the most iconic victories in boxing history.

Iran holds fresh talks with Pakistan and Saudi Ara…

ISLAMABAD: Iran has intensified its diplomatic engagement with key regional partners by holding another round of high-level discussions with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as efforts continue to ease tensions and prevent a wider conflict in the Middle East. According to Iranian state media, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by telephone on Monday with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The conversations marked the second round of talks between the leaders within 24 hours, reflecting the urgency of ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at preserving regional peace and stability. During the discussions, the leaders exchanged views on the latest political and diplomatic developments and stressed the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to resolve tensions through dialogue rather than confrontation. They agreed that political engagement remains the most effective path toward ensuring lasting security across West Asia. The renewed diplomatic outreach comes shortly after US President Donald Trump announced that Washington had suspended planned military strikes against Iran and would resume negotiations with Tehran. While Trump claimed that regional countries had helped establish the framework for renewed talks, Iran rejected suggestions that it had requested a pause in hostilities. Nevertheless, Tehran has continued consultations with influential regional capitals to support diplomatic efforts. The upcoming negotiations between the United States and Iran are expected to focus on Tehran’s nuclear program and the future of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime trade routes. The waterway remains under heavy international attention due to its critical role in global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments. Iran has maintained that any military action by the United States, Israel, or any regional country supporting such operations would receive a firm and proportionate response. The warning follows months of heightened confrontation that began after military operations launched by the United States and Israel earlier this year, citing concerns over Iran’s missile capabilities, nuclear ambitions, and support for allied armed groups. The prolonged conflict has disrupted shipping across the Gulf and Red Sea, pushed global energy prices higher, and increased fears of broader regional instability. Although Washington has repeatedly signaled the possibility of military escalation, diplomatic channels remain active as regional powers work to prevent the crisis from expanding further. With fresh talks now on the horizon, Iran’s latest engagement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia underscores the growing role of regional diplomacy in seeking a peaceful resolution to one of the Middle East’s most challenging security crises.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of children and the growing number of violent crimes being reported across the country. According to reports, the incident took place in Feroze Wala Kala Khatai Gol Pind near Gujranwala. The minor was allegedly taken to nearby fields, where she was sexually assaulted by multiple suspects. Her cries for help alerted local residents, who rushed towards the area and intervened. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify and arrest those responsible. The victim was later taken to a police station in critical condition. Reports said that she was in severe distress and was unable to sit comfortably following the alleged assault. The incident has also sparked criticism of the media after the child’s father appeared before news outlets while attempting to conceal his daughter’s face. Despite the family’s efforts to protect the minor’s identity, reports claimed that some media channels broadcast footage showing the child’s face without blurring it. The decision has drawn condemnation from members of the public and celebrities, who argued that protecting the privacy and dignity of a minor victim should be a basic responsibility of the media. Actress Amar Khan expressed her anger over the alleged assault as well as the media’s handling of the victim’s identity. She criticised the decision to broadcast the child’s unblurred face, calling attention to the ethical responsibilities of news organisations when reporting cases involving minors. Maya Khan also reacted emotionally to the incident, urging people to take action against such cruelty. She wrote, “Please do something before Allah reacts to this cruelty and punishes us.” Malik Aqeel was also among those who expressed grief over the disturbing case. The incident has prompted another wave of public outrage on social media, with many users demanding strict action against those responsible. Several commentators questioned whether parents can feel safe raising daughters when children continue to face such horrific violence. Some users called for stronger punishments for perpetrators of crimes against children, while others expressed frustration over what they described as repeated failures to protect vulnerable minors. Many social media users also tagged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, urging authorities to ensure a swift investigation and bring the suspects to justice. The alleged assault comes amid growing public concern over reports of rape, murder, kidnapping and other violent crimes across Pakistan. Recent cases involving children and other vulnerable victims have intensified demands for stronger law enforcement, better protection for minors and greater accountability. As the investigation continues, the public is awaiting concrete action against those responsible for the Gujranwala incident. The case has once again highlighted the urgent need to protect children from violence and ensure that victims are treated with dignity and privacy throughout the legal process.
