Ramsha Khan addresses pardah and privacy at sister’s wedding

Ramsha Khan and Khushhal Khan are among the most recognised names associated with Pakistan’s current drama industry. The two actors appeared together in popular projects including Duniyapur and Biryani, and their on-screen chemistry eventually became the subject of considerable public interest. Their relationship reportedly developed away from the spotlight before they surprised fans with news of their marriage.

Following her marriage, Ramsha Khan has largely stepped away from the entertainment industry and social media. The actress has also indicated that she does not wish to continue appearing in front of cameras, choosing instead to focus on her personal life away from the public eye.

However, her absence recently became a topic of discussion after her sister Alysha Khan’s wedding. Alysha, who is known as an influencer, had a relatively public wedding celebration, with several moments from the festivities making their way onto social media. Ramsha, however, was noticeably absent from most of the events.

The actress was reportedly spotted at only one function, where she appeared wearing a mask and goggles. Her unusual appearance immediately caught the attention of social media users and sparked speculation about the reason behind her decision to cover her face.

Some users began questioning whether Ramsha’s husband, Khushhal Khan, or her new family had placed restrictions on her public appearances. The speculation quickly turned into another controversy, with several people discussing the couple’s personal choices and questioning why Ramsha was maintaining such a high level of privacy.

Amid the growing discussion, Ramsha Khan has now addressed the matter in an exclusive conversation with Hassan Chaudhary of Something Haute. According to the statement shared by Hassan, Ramsha clarified that neither her husband nor her in-laws have imposed restrictions on her.

Ramsha reportedly explained that her decision is entirely personal. She simply does not want to appear on camera anymore and has no desire to remain part of the public spotlight. She also expressed that she does not want people using hashtags associated with her name or turning her private life into a subject of constant online discussion.

The actress is said to be content with her married life and wants to live as a private citizen rather than continue maintaining a celebrity image. Her decision appears to be based on her own preference for privacy rather than any restrictions imposed by her husband or family.

Hassan Chaudhary’s revelation has since generated mixed reactions among social media users. While some people defended Ramsha’s choice and argued that she has every right to decide how much of her personal life she wants to share, others continued to question the way she appeared at her sister’s wedding.

One social media user supported her decision, writing that Ramsha has the right to choose what she wants for herself. Another person, however, questioned her appearance at the wedding and sarcastically remarked that there was no need to cover herself so extensively at her own sister’s celebration.

Others turned their attention toward Khushhal Khan, with one user suggesting that if Ramsha wants complete privacy, her husband should also consider maintaining the same level of distance from the public eye.

The debate highlights the intense scrutiny celebrities can face even after choosing to step away from showbiz. While Ramsha Khan may no longer want the attention associated with her celebrity status, her personal choices continue to attract public interest.

For now, her statement makes it clear that her decision to remain away from cameras is one she has made for herself, as she focuses on her marriage and private life away from the entertainment industry.

KBO cancels games amid heatwave warning

South Korea’s Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO) has cancelled two scheduled league games after authorities issued the highest level of heatwave warning for parts of the country. The decision was taken to protect the health and safety of players, spectators and match officials as temperatures were forecast to reach 39°C. According to the league, the severe heat warning has been in effect since Friday in the cities of Busan and Changwon, where Saturday’s games were due to be played. With dangerously high temperatures expected to continue, the KBO opted to postpone the fixtures rather than risk the well-being of everyone involved. The two affected matches are: • Samsung Lions vs Lotte Giants at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan. • KIA Tigers vs NC Dinos at Changwon NC Park in Changwon, South Gyeongsang. Confirming the decision, the KBO said: “Severe heatwave warnings have been in effect for the Changwon and Busan areas since yesterday.” The league further explained the reason behind the postponements, stating: “The decision was made with the safety and health of spectators and players as the top priority.” It also confirmed that both games will be rescheduled at a later date. Under KBO regulations, a heatwave warning may be declared when daily maximum temperatures of at least 35°C are forecast to continue for two consecutive days or longer. Once such conditions exist, the league is permitted to postpone games or introduce other safety measures to minimise the impact of extreme weather. Apart from outright cancellations, the KBO also has the option of delaying outdoor matches by up to one hour. Such decisions are made after consultations between the league’s game operations officials and each club’s game manager. The rule applies to all outdoor stadiums across the league. The only exception is Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul. Because it is a fully roofed stadium, games scheduled there can continue without being affected by extreme heat or other weather conditions. The Korea Baseball Organisation has increasingly focused on player and fan welfare in recent years, especially during periods of severe summer weather. South Korea has experienced unusually high temperatures this season, prompting authorities to issue multiple heat-related warnings and advise residents to avoid prolonged outdoor activities whenever possible. Founded in 1982, the KBO League is South Korea’s premier professional baseball competition and consists of 10 teams owned by major corporate groups. It remains the country’s most popular spectator sport, featuring a 144-game regular season that attracts millions of fans every year. Among its most successful clubs are the KIA Tigers, who have captured 12 championships, the highest total in league history. Despite the disruption caused by the heatwave, league officials have assured fans that the postponed fixtures will be added to the schedule later in the season, with safety continuing to remain the KBO’s highest priority as extreme weather conditions persist across parts of South Korea.

Sabalenka survives six match points to reach Cincinnati round 3

CINCINNATI: World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka survived a tense challenge from Australia’s Talia Gibson on Sunday, needing six match points to secure a straight-sets victory and book her place in the third round of the Cincinnati Masters. Sabalenka eventually prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) in just under two hours on a windswept Grandstand Court, but the second set turned into a nerve-testing battle. The Belarusian appeared close to victory when she created five match points in the 12th game. Gibson, however, refused to surrender, saving all five before forcing the set into a tiebreak. Sabalenka kept her composure when it mattered most, dominating the tiebreak before sealing the match with a final winner. “I’m super tired; this is crazy weather,” Sabalenka said after the contest, praising Gibson for becoming more aggressive and putting greater pressure on her serve. The victory keeps Sabalenka’s bid for another deep Cincinnati run alive. She won the tournament in 2024 and is hoping to build momentum ahead of the US Open, where she will be chasing her first Grand Slam title of the 2026 season. Sabalenka has already captured three titles this year, although her most recent triumph came in Miami in March. Meanwhile, Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina advanced comfortably with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Taylor Townsend. The world No. 2 arrived in Cincinnati after finishing runner-up to Iga Swiatek in Toronto. French Open champion Mirra Andreeva produced an even more emphatic performance, crushing Oleksandra Oliynykova 6-1, 6-0 while saving all seven break points she faced. Defending champion Swiatek also moved forward, defeating Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-3, 6-0. American fourth seed Coco Gauff battled back from a slow start to defeat Liudmila Samsonova 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, winning the final five games. The day ended on a disappointing note for American Ben Shelton, however, as the world No. 6 was eliminated by Portugal’s Jaime Faria.

Maya Khan shares empowering message for divorced women

Renowned Pakistani television host and actress Maya Khan has released an empowering video message dedicated to divorced women, urging them to stop punishing themselves, release past regrets, and embrace life after a failed marriage. Drawing from her own personal experiences—including navigating an unhappy marriage and a difficult public divorce—Maya opened up about the emotional hurdles of moving forward. The actress, who recently won praise for her performances in hit television dramas like Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Milkiyat, and Baray Bhaiyya, shared how societal pressures and self-doubt often trap women in cycles of guilt. In her video message, Maya addressed the common struggle of accepting past mistakes, emphasizing that intelligent and capable individuals frequently fall victim to harsh self-blame after a relationship ends: ”Stop punishing yourself. It’s hard to accept your mistakes because, as human beings, we all believe we are educated, wise, and intelligent. We often think, ‘How could I possibly make a wrong decision?’ According to the world, I was wise, so how could I go wrong? How could one wrong person make me feel weak, trivial, and unimportant? The girl who appeared strong on the outside was actually very weak on the inside during her difficult days—but that’s enough now.” Reflecting on her journey, Maya revealed how her former husband previously took away her savings, compounding the personal hardship she faced during her split. However, rather than dwelling on past betrayal, she reframed those difficult chapters as invaluable life lessons. She encouraged women to view painful experiences as blessings in disguise that build resilience and inner wisdom. Urging her followers to let go of self-blame, Maya advised them to gather the lessons learned from adversity and channel that strength into building a brighter, independent future. The inspiring video drew widespread appreciation across social media platforms, with fans, followers, and fellow industry figures applauding Maya for using her platform to break the stigma surrounding divorce and offering compassionate guidance to women rebuilding their lives.
