    Morocco names 655-Mile coastal highway

RABAT: Morocco has officially named its 655-mile (1,055-kilometer) coastal expressway after U.S. President Donald J. Trump, according to reports. The decision was announced through a royal decree issued by King Mohammed VI, recognizing the highway as the Donald J. Trump Expressway. The expressway stretches from the city of Tiznit in southern Morocco to Dakhla, a strategically important city located in the country’s southern region. Previously known as the Tiznit–Dakhla Expressway, the highway is one of Morocco’s most significant infrastructure projects. It covers approximately 655 miles (1,055 kilometers) and was built at an estimated cost of around US$1 billion. The project was designed to improve transportation and strengthen economic links between Morocco’s northern and southern regions. The expressway is expected to facilitate trade, encourage tourism, and provide easier access to remote areas. It also plays an important role in connecting communities and supporting regional development. The decision to rename the highway reflects Morocco’s recognition of President Donald Trump’s contributions to strengthening relations between the United States and Morocco. The announcement has attracted international attention because of the symbolic significance of naming such a major national infrastructure project after a foreign leader. In response to the announcement, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI. In a message, President Trump thanked the Moroccan monarch for what he described as a “great honor.” He said he deeply appreciated the gesture and praised the strong friendship between the two countries. President Trump also stated that he hopes to have the opportunity to travel on the newly renamed expressway in the near future. He described the highway as an impressive achievement and said he looked forward to visiting Morocco again. The Tiznit–Dakhla route is considered one of Morocco’s largest transportation investments in recent years. It was developed to improve road safety, reduce travel time, and support economic activity throughout the country’s southern provinces. The highway also serves as an important transportation corridor for commercial vehicles carrying goods between different regions. Infrastructure projects of this scale are often viewed as symbols of national development and long-term economic planning. Renaming the expressway after President Trump has generated interest internationally and is likely to be seen as a diplomatic gesture highlighting the close ties between Morocco and the United States. Morocco and the United States have maintained longstanding diplomatic relations, cooperating in areas such as trade, security, investment, and regional stability. The renaming of the expressway further underscores the importance both countries place on their bilateral partnership. The announcement has been widely reported by regional media and has sparked discussion about the significance of honoring foreign leaders through national landmarks. Whether viewed as a diplomatic tribute or a symbolic act of friendship, the decision marks a notable moment in Morocco–U.S. relations and adds another chapter to the history of cooperation between the two nations.

Mandy Moore reveals if she wants to expand her fam…

Mandy Moore has officially answered the question of whether she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, plan to expand their family. The This Is Us star, 42, already shares three children with Goldsmith: sons August “Gus,” 5, and Oscar “Ozzie,” 3, and daughter Louise “Lou,” who is 23 months old. In a recent interview, Moore made it clear that their family of five is now complete. (Us) “We are absolutely done and so grateful for our family,” Moore said, explaining that she and Goldsmith are enjoying this stage of parenthood and trying to savor the small moments. Moore admitted that seeing pregnancy announcements on social media can still bring up complicated feelings. She joked that her Instagram feed now seems filled with pregnant people, which makes her realize that pregnancy will not be part of her future again. At the same time, she said she is simply too tired to imagine starting over with another baby. After having three children in three and a half years, Moore appears ready to embrace a new chapter rather than return to the newborn stage. For the actress, there is also something bittersweet about watching her youngest child, Lou, grow up. She recently reflected on reaching milestones that signal the end of the baby years, including moving away from diapers, bottles and a crib. Moore described the transition as exciting but emotional. Her family is entering what she called “uncharted territory,” as the children become more independent and develop their own personalities. (E! Online) The actress has also been candid about the physical and emotional impact of having three children so close together. Earlier this year, she shared an honest look at her postpartum body, acknowledging the changes that came after three pregnancies in just three and a half years. (People.com) Moore previously revealed that she had undergone an unsuccessful round of IVF before unexpectedly becoming pregnant naturally with Lou. She had considered IVF partly because she wanted the possibility of creating more space between pregnancies as she got older. (The Express Tribune) Now, however, Moore appears confident that she and Goldsmith have reached the right place for their family. Rather than focusing on having another baby, the actress is choosing to appreciate the children she already has. With Gus, Ozzie and Lou growing quickly, Moore is embracing the next stage of motherhood with gratitude. For Moore and Goldsmith, the baby chapter may be closing—but their family story is continuing to grow in new ways.

PM rebukes Islamabad chief commissioner, IG over i…

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan has reprimanded Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Police (IGP) over their use of a ceremonial buggy during the Independence Day celebrations, describing the display as inconsistent with the principles and values expected from senior public servants. According to official advisories issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on August 17, the incident took place on August 14 during the Independence Day celebrations. Chief Commissioner Islamabad Lt. (Retd.) Sohail Ashraf and IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi reportedly used a ceremonial carriage belonging to the Prime Minister’s House to attend and observe the parade. The Prime Minister himself was not present at the event. The use of the ceremonial buggy attracted public criticism, with concerns raised over what was perceived as an unnecessary display of protocol and privilege by senior government officials. In its advisory, the Prime Minister’s Office expressed serious displeasure over the incident and said the conduct created an inappropriate impression about the role of public servants. The office maintained that government officials are expected to uphold simplicity, humility and dignity rather than engage in displays of grandeur or personal prominence. The Prime Minister stated that the use of such protocol projected an image of privilege, ostentation and personal aggrandisement that was contrary to the basic ethos of public service. He stressed that government officers serve the public and should therefore avoid conduct that could undermine public confidence in state institutions. The advisory further warned that displays of excessive protocol and personal privilege by senior officials could damage the credibility of public institutions. It emphasized that officers occupying important administrative and law-enforcement positions are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and propriety. Following the Prime Minister’s directions, the Establishment Division issued a formal warning to the two officers through Joint Secretary (Discipline) Syeda Shafaq Hashmi. The directive called for an immediate end to practices involving unnecessary protocol, exhibitionism and self-promotion at official events. It instructed the officers to ensure that such conduct does not happen again and emphasized the importance of maintaining simplicity and dignity while performing official duties. The Establishment Division also directed that the advisory be followed strictly, both in letter and spirit. The warning serves as a reminder to senior civil servants that official positions come with significant responsibilities and require them to maintain appropriate standards of conduct in public. The Prime Minister’s Office highlighted the special responsibilities of the Chief Commissioner and IG Islamabad, who serve as the administrative and police heads of the federal capital. Given their positions, the public and government expect them to set an example through responsible governance, discipline and appropriate behavior. The episode has once again brought attention to the government’s emphasis on reducing unnecessary official protocol and promoting a culture of simplicity among public officials. The Prime Minister’s message was clear that public office should be associated with service, responsibility and accountability rather than privilege and ceremonial extravagance. The two officials have now been directed to ensure that similar displays do not recur at future official functions and to uphold the standards expected from senior government officers.
