Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received an enthusiastic response from audiences, with many fans describing it as Tom Holland’s strongest performance yet as the iconic Marvel superhero.

    Saudi Arabia detains more than 14,000 people in nationwide enforcement campaign

    Saudi authorities arrested more than 14,000 people during a week long nationwide campaign targeting violations of residency, labour and border security laws, according to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Interior. The ministry said joint inspection operations carried out between July 23 and July 29 resulted in the detention of 14,154 individuals. The campaign formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border security and ensure compliance with the country’s immigration and labour regulations. Official figures showed that 7,103 people were arrested for violating residency rules, while 3,654 were detained for breaching border security laws. Another 3,397 individuals were taken into custody for labour related offences. Authorities said the inspections were conducted across different regions of the Kingdom with the participation of several government agencies. The ministry also reported that 1,418 people were arrested while attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally. Among them, 54 percent were Yemeni nationals and 45 percent were Ethiopian nationals, while the remaining one percent belonged to other nationalities. In addition, security forces detained 23 people who were allegedly trying to leave the country through illegal routes. Authorities also arrested 17 individuals accused of helping violators by transporting, sheltering, employing or concealing people who had breached residency, labour or border security regulations. Officials stressed that anyone assisting illegal entry or providing support to those staying in the Kingdom unlawfully would face strict legal action. According to the ministry, 30,679 people are currently undergoing legal procedures related to residency, labour and border security violations. This group includes 28,187 men and 2,492 women. Officials said 17,903 individuals have been referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents needed for their return, while 5,424 have been directed to complete travel arrangements. So far, 12,613 people have been deported after completing the required legal process. The Ministry of Interior warned that facilitating illegal entry into Saudi Arabia or providing transportation, accommodation or any other form of assistance to violators is considered a major criminal offence. Those found guilty could face prison sentences of up to 15 years, fines reaching one million Saudi riyals and the confiscation of vehicles or properties used in committing the offence. Authorities also said offenders may be publicly identified as part of the legal penalties. The ministry urged residents to report any suspected violations through emergency numbers designated for different regions of the Kingdom. Officials said public cooperation remains essential in supporting efforts to enforce immigration laws and maintain national security. Saudi Arabia regularly conducts nationwide inspection campaigns aimed at regulating the labour market, strengthening border controls and ensuring that foreign residents comply with the country’s legal requirements. The latest operation reflects the government’s continued focus on enforcing immigration and employment regulations across the Kingdom.

    Two labourers killed, Three injured in Quetta road…

    A Quetta IED blast killed two labourers and injured three others in the Wali Tangi area of Quetta district on Sunday, according to police officials. Police said unidentified attackers planted an improvised explosive device (IED) along the roadside and detonated it remotely when a pickup carrying a contractor and four labourers passed through the area. The incident occurred around 30 kilometres from Quetta. The victims were reportedly travelling to Wali Tangi for construction work related to tube wells. The powerful explosion badly damaged their vehicle. All five people were initially injured and transported to Civil Hospital Quetta, where two later succumbed to their injuries. Police and Frontier Corps personnel quickly reached the blast site, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to identify and arrest those responsible. In a separate incident in Killi Raisani on the outskirts of Quetta, unidentified armed men shot dead former Afghan army commander Haji Hazrat Ullah, also known as Rorad Achakzai. Police said motorcycle-riding attackers targeted him while he was travelling through the area. The latest violence comes amid growing security concerns in Balochistan, where recent figures indicate a sharp rise in fatalities.

    Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem has decided to skip the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League and instead focus on an overseas training camp in South Africa. He failed to progress beyond the first three throws in the final. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won the Commonwealth Games javelin gold medal with an impressive throw of 89.75 metres, while Nadeem was unable to defend his title at the event. Despite the setback, Nadeem remains one of Pakistan’s leading track and field athletes. He won Olympic gold in the men’s javelin throw at the Paris 2024 Olympics, producing an Olympic-record throw of 92.97 metres. The Lausanne event had initially attracted considerable attention because Nadeem was listed among a strong javelin field.     KARACHI: An eight-member medical board has completed a fresh post-mortem examination of Wafflix owner Mir Raza Ali’s exhumed remains and sent samples for DNA and chemical testing, amid questions over the identity of the body and the circumstances surrounding his death. Ali’s grave was exhumed on Saturday at the Tariq Road cemetery in Karachi, where the medical board collected evidence before the remains were reburied. Professor Dr Naseem, a member of the medical board, said the samples had been properly preserved and would be examined at a laboratory. The testing will include DNA analysis and chemical examination, which officials say could provide crucial evidence in the case. The exhumation and re-post-mortem were conducted under the supervision of the judicial magistrate and police surgeon. Advocate Jibran Nasir said the process began at around 11:07am and was completed after the medical team collected the required evidence. He said the board had also addressed questions previously raised by the police surgeon. According to Nasir, an initial medical report was expected later on Saturday, while the final findings would be issued after completion of the chemical examination. The fresh examination is expected to help determine whether Ali died by suicide or was murdered and whether the injuries found on the body were self-inflicted or caused by another person. Nasir said the proceedings had been conducted satisfactorily and expressed appreciation for the judiciary’s intervention in the matter. He said the investigation could help resolve speculation and unanswered questions surrounding the young entrepreneur’s death. However, another member of the medical board, CPLC official Amir Hasan, raised a significant question over the identity of the remains. Hasan said the board was not yet certain that the exhumed body belonged to Ali. To establish the identity, DNA samples were collected from the remains as well as from Ali’s parents. He said the DNA comparison would determine whether the body buried at the cemetery was indeed that of Ali.
