The 27-year-old artist shared the milestone on social media, describing the experience as emotional and unforgettable. She admitted feeling overwhelmed before taking the stage and thanked fans and her team for their continued support throughout her musical journey.

Dean delivered an energetic performance that received an enthusiastic response from the massive crowd, making her American festival debut one of the standout moments of this year’s event.

The latest success comes only days after Dean celebrated another landmark achievement in the United Kingdom. Her duet with British singer Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” has officially become the longest-running number one single in UK chart history, setting a new national record.

During her performance at Lollapalooza, Dean took a moment to acknowledge the historic accomplishment and shared her excitement with the audience. She then welcomed Sam Fender to the stage, where the pair performed “Rein Me In” together for the first time in the United States.

The chart-topping track is a re-recorded duet from Fender’s third studio album, People Watching. Released in June 2025, the song climbed to the top of the UK Singles Chart in early 2026 before going on to achieve its record-breaking run.

    Pakistan has been ranked among the countries with the highest number of viral hepatitis cases worldwide, with the country standing fifth globally in total hepatitis burden, according to the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA). The warning was issued on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, highlighting the growing public health challenge caused by hepatitis B and C infections. PMA Secretary General Dr Abdul Ghafoor Shoro said Pakistan has one of the world’s largest burdens of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), with around 10 million people suffering from chronic Hepatitis C. In addition, an estimated 3.8 million people are living with chronic Hepatitis B (HBV), bringing the total number of people affected by viral hepatitis in the country to approximately 13.8 million. According to the PMA, Pakistan’s hepatitis burden is higher than many countries and is exceeded only by China, India, Indonesia, and Nigeria. The national prevalence rate of Hepatitis C is estimated between 4.8 and 7.5 percent, while Hepatitis B affects around 1.1 to 1.7 percent of the population. Health experts warned that untreated hepatitis can lead to serious complications, including liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, which collectively claim more than 37,000 lives in Pakistan every year. Dr Shoro stated that Pakistan contributes a significant share of new global Hepatitis C infections due to unsafe medical practices. He highlighted that thousands of new infections occur annually because of the reuse of unsterilized syringes, unsafe medical equipment, and unscreened blood transfusions. Other major causes of hepatitis transmission include unsafe surgical procedures, dental treatments, tattooing, body piercing, shaving with contaminated razors at barber shops, and practices carried out by unqualified healthcare providers. Low coverage of the mandatory Hepatitis B birth-dose vaccine has also remained a concern. President Asif Ali Zardari said hepatitis remains one of the country’s most serious public health challenges but emphasized that it can be prevented and treated through early detection, timely medical care, and collective efforts. He stressed the need for strict regulation of unsafe healthcare practices and awareness campaigns to protect citizens. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also highlighted the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, and access to quality treatment. He said strengthening the healthcare system and improving public awareness are essential steps toward reducing the disease burden. Health authorities and public representatives called for greater cooperation between government institutions, healthcare providers, and communities to control hepatitis transmission and improve treatment access across Pakistan.

    Audit reveals Rs47bn electricity overbilling

    A government audit has uncovered an alleged Rs47 billion electricity overbilling scandal, raising serious concerns over billing practices by power distribution companies (DISCOs). Audit officials informed the committee that 278,649 consumers received excessive electricity bills in a single month. According to the findings, the overbilling involved nearly 904 million electricity units, creating a major financial burden for households and businesses across the country. The audit report stated that the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) accounted for the largest share of the overbilling, with consumers allegedly charged around Rs45 billion beyond actual consumption. The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) was identified as the second-largest contributor, with overbilling estimated at Rs1.56 billion. Officials told lawmakers that the inflated bills were mainly caused by incorrect meter readings and misuse of authority by field staff responsible for recording electricity consumption. They alleged that overbilling was used to hide electricity theft, transmission losses and inefficiencies within the distribution system. Consumers who regularly paid their bills were reportedly charged extra, while refunds were usually made only after formal complaints were submitted. The Power Division informed the committee that reforms are being introduced to improve the billing system. Smart electricity meters and transformer-based metering technology are being installed in different regions to reduce human error and improve transparency. Officials said these measures have already helped reduce complaints of overbilling in areas where the new system has been implemented. Members of the Public Accounts Committee expressed concern over the scale of the issue and questioned how many similar cases had gone unnoticed. They said the reported figures likely represent only the cases detected through audits, while many more consumers may have suffered from incorrect billing without being aware of it. Lawmakers highlighted the financial difficulties faced by ordinary citizens because of inflated electricity bills. They said many families had been forced to borrow money or sell personal belongings to pay their electricity charges, adding that such practices have increased public frustration over rising utility costs. The committee was also informed that disciplinary action had been taken against officials found responsible for irregularities. According to the management of LESCO, stronger anti-theft operations and stricter monitoring have significantly reduced electricity theft and eliminated overbilling in its service area. Several officers, including an executive engineer and multiple sub-divisional officers, have been dismissed over misconduct. During the same meeting, another audit report highlighted alleged financial irregularities in the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO). The report claimed that Rs1.06 billion was misappropriated through payments made to ghost employees and retired staff, with investigators pointing to possible collusion among officials involved in financial administration.

The involvement of multiple departments is aimed at ensuring a coordinated assessment of hospital safety arrangements. Sources said the monitoring teams will particularly examine fire safety arrangements and other precautionary measures at hospitals. The teams will assess whether hospitals have adequate arrangements to prevent and respond to fire incidents and other emergencies. The move comes as the provincial government focuses on strengthening safety standards in healthcare facilities and ensuring that hospitals are properly equipped to deal with any untoward incident. The Health Department has also called a meeting to discuss safety arrangements at hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to sources, the meeting will review the preparations in place to deal with any untoward incident or emergency situation at healthcare facilities.
