Saboor Aly’s daughter Serena Ali begins her school journey

Saboor Aly has reached another memorable milestone in her journey as a mother. The Pakistani actress, who has built a successful career through her talent and dedication, is now celebrating an important moment in the life of her young daughter, Serena Ali. Saboor is married to fellow actor Ali Ansari, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Serena Ali, more than a year ago. Since becoming parents, the couple have largely kept their daughter away from the public eye. Saboor has been particularly careful about protecting Serena’s privacy and has avoided showing her face on social media. However, the actress recently gave fans a glimpse into a special new chapter in her daughter’s life. Serena is now all set to begin her school journey, and Saboor shared pictures from the little girl’s first day. While the actress continued to maintain her daughter’s privacy, the photographs gave followers a glimpse of the emotional occasion. Starting school is a major milestone for any child, and Saboor appeared to be marking the moment with pride and affection. Like many parents, she seems excited to watch her daughter take her first steps into a new environment and begin learning outside the home. However, the announcement quickly sparked a debate among social media users. Some followers questioned whether Serena was too young to begin school, particularly because she is reportedly around one and a half years old. One social media user expressed surprise over the decision, writing that Serena is “just 1.5 years old.” Another commenter described the decision as “wrong,” while someone else suggested that a mother should be a child’s first teacher and encouraged Saboor to educate her daughter at home. The reactions highlight the different opinions surrounding early childhood education. While some parents prefer introducing children to structured learning environments at a young age, others believe toddlers should spend more time at home before starting any form of schooling. It is also possible that Serena’s school experience may be more focused on early childhood activities, social interaction and development rather than conventional academic education. Many early-learning programmes are designed specifically for toddlers and emphasize play, communication and basic developmental skills. Despite the mixed reactions, Saboor has not indicated that the criticism will change her approach to parenting. She has consistently maintained a protective attitude toward her daughter and continues to keep details of Serena’s personal life private. For now, the actress appears to be embracing this new chapter while allowing her daughter to experience an important milestone away from excessive public attention. Saboor and Ali’s fans will undoubtedly continue to follow Serena’s journey, even if the couple choose to reveal only limited glimpses of her childhood.

PSX plunges over 1,300 points amid global market sell-off

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) came under heavy selling pressure on Wednesday. The benchmark KSE-100 Index fell sharply during the trading session. The index dropped 1,339.73 points, or 0.75%, to reach 176,284.15 by 1:04pm. The decline came as regional markets also faced pressure and oil prices continued to rise. The KSE-100 had already fallen 1,297.67 points, or 0.73%, earlier in the session. At 9:34am, the index was trading at 176,326.21. The market remained volatile throughout the session. The KSE-100 recorded an intraday high of 176,935.03 and a low of 175,631.74. Trading activity remained significant. Around 120.55 million shares changed hands during the session. The total traded value stood at Rs10.69 billion. The previous close of the KSE-100 Index was 177,623.88. The latest decline therefore reflected a clear shift in investor sentiment. The pressure on the local market came amid a wider sell-off across Asian stock markets. Investors have become increasingly cautious about global economic conditions. Concerns surrounding heavy investment in artificial intelligence-related companies have also affected market sentiment. Investors are assessing whether valuations in some technology sectors have risen too quickly. The rise in international oil prices added another source of uncertainty. Oil prices increased after fresh attacks were reported in the Middle East. The developments have raised concerns about possible disruptions to global oil supplies. Higher energy prices could also increase inflationary pressures in several economies. Investors are also watching the potential impact of higher oil prices on interest rates. A prolonged rise in energy costs could complicate efforts to control inflation. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have further increased uncertainty in global financial markets. The latest developments have encouraged investors to adopt a more cautious approach. The negative trend in Asian equities also affected sentiment at the PSX. Local investors remained under pressure as the benchmark index continued to trade in negative territory.

Perez Hilton’s livestream prompts police response in Miami

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton prompted widespread concern after police responded to his Miami home following a disturbing TikTok livestream in which he appeared to harm himself. Videos that quickly spread across social media showed the 48-year-old internet personality in an apparent state of distress. In the clips, Hilton appeared visibly agitated and was seen with blood on his body while repeatedly using an object to injure himself. The footage led viewers to contact emergency services, fearing for his safety. Authorities confirmed they received multiple reports from concerned members of the public regarding a person appearing to self-harm during a livestream. Deputies were dispatched to Hilton’s residence to assess the situation and ensure his well-being. After arriving at the property, officers determined that Hilton was alone inside his home. Law enforcement officials said they chose a de-escalation approach, avoiding direct confrontation while also communicating with members of his family. Officials explained that when responding to incidents involving an individual experiencing a mental health crisis, officers often prioritize creating time and distance to reduce tension. Crisis intervention strategies are commonly used in such situations to encourage communication while minimizing the risk of harm to the individual, responding officers, and the public. The incident has sparked renewed discussion online about mental health awareness, crisis intervention, and the emotional pressures faced by public figures whose personal struggles often unfold in front of large audiences. Hilton has previously spoken publicly about his health and emotional challenges. Earlier this year, he revealed that he had been hospitalized for nearly three weeks after what initially appeared to be a case of the flu developed into a series of serious medical complications. According to Hilton, his condition worsened significantly, leading to an ulcer, a perforation, and eventually sepsis, a life-threatening response to infection. He later described the experience as one of the most difficult periods of his life. Following his recovery and return home, Hilton shared that the ordeal had transformed his outlook on life and faith. He said the experience strengthened his spiritual beliefs and inspired him to reconnect with religion. The media personality explained that he believed the difficult experience brought him closer to God and encouraged him to begin attending church regularly with his children. He described the change as deeply personal and life-changing. In recent months, Hilton had also hinted at ongoing emotional struggles through social media. In one video shared earlier this year, he asked followers to pray for him, saying he felt he was facing intense personal challenges. Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., rose to fame in the mid-2000s through his celebrity gossip website, becoming one of the internet’s most recognizable entertainment bloggers. Over the years, he has remained active across various social media platforms while also focusing on raising his three children, all of whom were welcomed through surrogacy. The latest incident has prompted an outpouring of concern from fans and followers, many of whom expressed hope that Hilton receives the care and support he needs as he navigates this difficult period.

Indonesia earthquake death toll reaches 54

Rescue teams in eastern Indonesia are preparing to intensify operations after a powerful earthquake killed at least 54 people and damaged hundreds of homes across East Nusa Tenggara. Authorities said the search for people who may still be trapped under collapsed structures would continue on Monday. Rescue officials are also preparing helicopters for aerial surveillance and equipment to remove people from damaged buildings. The earthquake has been followed by nearly 1,600 aftershocks in the affected province, according to local officials. A magnitude 5.6 tremor was also recorded in the region on Monday morning, adding to fears among residents who have been reluctant to return to their homes. The disaster has disrupted Independence Day celebrations across parts of Indonesia. Thousands of residents have been evacuated and many are staying in temporary shelters, tents and other open areas because of concerns about further tremors. Indonesia’s disaster management agency said the earthquake had damaged about 500 houses. Landslides also blocked roads in several areas, including Sikka and Manggarai, making it more difficult for emergency teams to reach affected communities. Survivors have reported shortages of basic necessities, including clean water, food and medical assistance. In one affected village, residents said children had developed diarrhoea because of poor access to safe drinking water. Some injured and vulnerable residents are being treated at makeshift medical facilities. Health authorities are preparing emergency field hospitals and say specialist doctors, including neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons, are needed to treat people suffering from head injuries and broken bones. Authorities are also preparing aircraft to transport food, tents and other relief supplies to communities cut off by damaged roads and landslides. Rescue officials said there were no confirmed reports of missing people at the time of their latest update. However, search teams are continuing to inspect damaged areas to ensure that no survivors remain trapped beneath the rubble. The earthquake has deeply affected local communities, with many residents prioritising safety over the country’s Independence Day celebrations. Some families have moved to higher ground after fearing that further tremors could trigger additional hazards. Indonesia has experienced several major earthquakes in recent years. The latest disaster is being described as the country’s deadliest since a devastating 2022 earthquake in West Java claimed hundreds of lives. With aftershocks continuing and access to some areas still difficult, emergency authorities are focusing on rescue operations, medical treatment and the delivery of essential supplies to affected communities.
