You are absolutely right, this is the BMW powered version with the additional gear setup to align engine and gearbox. Early cars had the straight-cut gears and the later cars the helical gears, this Guarà Spyder fitted with the latter as you can softly hear in the driving video.…”

“We had the paint shop “Marauder” line at STAP I had the opportunity to work on these beautiful cars. There were about 8 of us on 2 shifts that made certain that they were gone over with a fine tooth comb!! Often they were sent through clear coat x2 so they were perfectly done! We would hang a heavy metal washer from a wire inside the car from body shop so everyone knew it was a Marauder. They were signed off by 3 different people before they got shipped to chassis!”

“At the age of 74 and having owned almost 200 cars over that span, I enjoyed many different cars, many muscle cars back in the 70’s when they were several years old and pretty much worn out by then…still tons of fun, I also owned several sports cars two Spitfires, and a ’63 Austin Healey Sprite, and three Fiat 850 spiders. “Fun memories of seeing this bike in Rob’s shop. We used to do a “garage tour” on British bikes in San Diego. Rob would bring us into his crazy workshop which included a land speed record “bike” built around a Delta jet turbine engine. He loved this Rudge. These have high quality engineering for their time and currently have decent parts availability through UK owner’s club. Thanks for bringing to BaT!”

“When they were introduced could not sell what had been planned for U.S. mkt and some returned to Europe. Those sold here went down in value for awhile and then…. Mine was not taken by first purchaser when it arrived at dealer. I had originally turned the allocation but took it. Early comments from an owner captures it.
