While it would not have been my choice, I was excited to enter the world of independence from walking, bicycling and public transportation.
The 144 ci engine didn’t last long with my heavy foot and the constant diet of re-refined oil I fed it from our local Site gas station.
I found a 260 at the junk yard and that was a great improvement.

“A United Airlines pilot that lived across the street from us when I was a teenager had a 12 cylinder E-Type coupe he bought new. Easy to look at and great sounds. But THIS car has all the modern goodies with no Lucas Electrics gremlins and all the modern upgrades plus a spotless and powerful Ed Pink motor. This would be the Jag I would own. Married in 1965 and sold the Avanti get a car with a bench seat for our daughter’ s car seat. I have known where my original car is but have tried unsuccessfully for 30 years to buy it.
