“WOW, WOW, WOW… What an auction that was! That’s one for the record books!
With more than 1,700 comments and 53,000 views, this auction exceeded all expectations.
Thank you, everyone, for the bids, the comments, and for making this such an exciting auction. We are in contact with @flippipaldi now and are thrilled to see this incredible GT heading to its new home.

“It has been a genuine privilege to have this extraordinary 113-year-old racing motorcycle on display in my collection. It stands as far more than a rare machine—it is a tangible reminder of the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and determination of the pioneers who built it.
This motorcycle is a testament to what skilled hands, creative minds, and unwavering perseverance could accomplish more than a century ago.
Yet the motorcycle tells only part of the story.
It also pays tribute to the fearless…”

“I remember filling out a postcard to get a promotional dvd for this car when i was 14. The dvd was about 5 minutes of this car doing straight line accelerations and burnouts. I watched it a ton of times. I thought it was badass then and I still do now.”

“My old GTX! What a joy to see it again, and looking so darn sharp.
Thank you for the shout Randy @BaT – I would’ve missed the listing otherwise. Time travel is fun, eh?
I bought this car in Las Vegas in 2012 after years of hunting for a good one. Even back then, they were quite rare. On the drive home to San Francisco, I took a dirt detour through Titus Canyon in Death Valley, and you can see pics from that in the original auction gallery. One of my favorite car memories of all…”

“I own a 1938 Flying Squirrel. The engine number is one digit away from this bike and the frame number is two digits away. When I contacted the Scott Club Registry to authenticate my bike I was advised that 220 Flying Squirrels were produced (500cc and 600cc versions combined) in 1938. The whereabouts of 101 were known. Of those, twenty had the redesigned detachable head as does this bike. GLWTS”

I enjoyed seeing those pictures again, have not seen them in decades.”

“Several years ago (well, maybe more than several!) I was offered a ride-along slot taking notes on the road trial of a 288 GTO which had just been serviced for a prominent collector here in MD. Midway through the loop, which was about thirty miles on various roads, we merged onto a local interstate at about 90 mph. The driver then floored it, the turbos spooled up, and at 90+ mph the tires chirped and the car rocketed forward, pushing us both back in our seats. I’ll remember that, always- at…”

“I’ve always thought the ’69 Camaro is one of the most perfectly styled cars of the era, particularly as an RS Z/28. @BlackMountainMotorworks did the right thing by including a number of side profile photos. (Surprising how many sellers don’t!) The color on this one is fantastic, worthy of a poster.
Being an early Trans Am Series fan I was thrilled to get close to the Penske/Donahue #6 racer at an 80’s Walter Mitty. I have a packet of photos I keep aside so I can easily remind myself.…”

Oh, one little “cheeky” thing, as the Brits like to say. Notice the faux intake runners on that plastic engine cover. (Photo #104.) At casual glance, it’s suggesting that the engine is in there longitudinally, perhaps even…”
