Chinese Children Rescued After Being Trapped in Glass Elevator for Over an Hour at Pattaya Pool Villa
PATTAYA, Thailand – Chinese parents experienced a terrifying ordeal when their 14-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son became trapped inside a glass elevator for more than an hour at a pool villa in Pattaya.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on August 11th, 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Radio Center received a report of two young foreign tourists stuck in an elevator. The incident occurred at Buakhao A Villa, located at 420/214 Moo 9, on Soi Buakhao.
Responding officers arrived at the three-story pool villa-style building and found the Chinese children trapped inside the passenger glass elevator. The siblings had been stuck for over an hour by the time help reached the scene.
Authorities coordinated with the building caretaker to obtain the key and open the elevator doors. Because it was a glass elevator, rescuers avoided using force or tools that could shatter the glass and endanger the children. The doors were opened without difficulty, and both children were safely freed.
Interpreter Kamonwan Thuphueak, 28, said the children’s parents had called for assistance after their son and daughter became trapped. She helped coordinate with officials, who arrived quickly and successfully rescued the pair.
