Kendall Jenner joins Jacob Elordi for dreamy Hawaii getaway

Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi are once again enjoying a getaway away from the spotlight, this time at a remote beach in Hawaii. The pair have been travelling together throughout the summer.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, August 14, Jenner shared a short video clip from what appeared to be Honopū Beach. The secluded spot sits along the rugged Nā Pali Coast of Kauaʻi.

The captionless clip gave fans a glimpse of the pristine shoreline, framed beneath towering 1,200-foot basalt cliffs often referred to as the “Valley of the Lost Souls.”

Interestingly, Jenner posted her video around the same time her sister, Kylie Jenner, shared her own photos from the same location. Kylie had recently celebrated her 29th birthday with a Princess Kitty-themed party, and her post seemed to hint at a joint getaway involving her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, Kendall and Elordi.

Popular gossip account Deuxmoi later added further detail, claiming Kendall and Elordi were spotted in Hawaii, with Elordi reportedly annoyed after someone tried photographing them. The account also suggested Kylie and Chalamet were seen at the same breakfast spot.

The trip comes just days after Jenner shared a deeply personal literary post referencing a classic Frank O’Hara poem, dedicated to expressing love and longing. She shared it without further comment, leaving fans to interpret the sentiment behind the gesture.

Jenner and Elordi first sparked dating rumours back in April, after being spotted together at Coachella 2026. Since then, the pair have been linked to several low-key getaways throughout the summer, fuelling ongoing speculation about the seriousness of their relationship.

With both Kardashian-Jenner sisters seemingly vacationing at the same Hawaiian location alongside their respective partners, fans have been quick to piece together the overlapping timeline from social media clues.

Neither Jenner nor Elordi has publicly confirmed additional details about the trip, keeping much of their relationship largely private despite the growing public interest.

Colombia’s new president takes office with hardline pledge on security and economy

Abelardo De La Espriella has been sworn in as Colombia’s president in Cali, breaking with the tradition of holding the inauguration ceremony at the congressional building in Bogotá. The 48-year-old former lawyer and ally of US President Donald Trump won June’s runoff election on a platform focused on hardline security measures, significant cuts to state spending, and the expansion of national energy production. During his inaugural speech at the Pichincha Battalion military base, De La Espriella declared that peace negotiations with armed groups are completely exhausted. He stated that criminal syndicates must either submit to the rule of law or face a direct response from security forces. To combat drug trafficking, he announced plans to resume aerial spraying to eradicate coca crops and confirmed that Colombia will join the US-led Shield of the Americas programme. On the economic front, De La Espriella pledged to freeze public spending and simplify the tax regime to stimulate private investment, while proposing to reduce the size of the state by up to 40%. He confirmed that established social programmes would remain intact. To boost declining reserves, the new administration plans to expand oil and gas exploration, including the use of responsible fracking, alongside efforts to strengthen state-owned energy firm Ecopetrol. De La Espriella’s inauguration reflects a wider political shift across Latin America. Incoming Finance Minister Miguel Gomez noted a fiscal deficit between 7% and 8% of GDP, indicating that initial governance will depend on executive decrees whilst navigating a divided congress. Meanwhile, opposition figures led by Senator Ivan Cepeda organized peaceful demonstrations in Barranquilla, pledging to defend democratic institutions and monitor potential rollbacks of social protections.

Security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past two months, resulting in the killing of multiple militants and the destruction of several militant hideouts, according to security sources. The operations were conducted under Operation 11 Gurj, which is aimed at dismantling militant networks and preventing terrorist activities in the province. During the campaign, security forces carried out a series of targeted raids based on intelligence reports in different districts. According to the sources, several militants were killed during these operations, while their hideouts were successfully destroyed. The forces also apprehended a number of suspected facilitators believed to have been providing logistical and operational support to militant groups. Security personnel recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment during the raids. Officials said the seized material was intended to be used in future terrorist attacks. One of the major operations was conducted in the Shakro area of Bajaur district, where security forces targeted militant hideouts after receiving credible intelligence. Reports indicated that several militants were killed, while others sustained injuries during the operation. The forces also located and destroyed multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found in the area. Officials said eliminating these explosives helped prevent potential attacks and improved the safety of local residents. Ground troops, supported by quadcopter surveillance, were used throughout the operations to identify militant positions and monitor movements before launching precise strikes. Security officials said the use of modern surveillance technology enhanced the effectiveness of the operations and reduced risks to security personnel. According to security sources, the operations form part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate militant infrastructure, disrupt terrorist networks and strengthen peace and stability across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Authorities reiterated that intelligence-based operations will continue until all militant elements are dismantled and the security situation is fully brought under control.

Citizen named Quaid-e-Azam told to appear before N…

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has directed a citizen named Quaid-e-Azam to appear before the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Board after his Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) was blocked. The matter came before the court after the citizen challenged the blocking of his CNIC through a petition. A division bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Inamullah Khan heard the case. During the proceedings, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that his client was a businessman. He said the citizen’s CNIC had been blocked and requested the court to intervene in the matter. The lawyer sought relief against the action taken against his client. He maintained that the blocking of the identity card had affected the citizen and required judicial consideration. A NADRA representative also appeared before the court. The Director Legal of NADRA informed the bench that the CNIC had not been blocked without reason. He said the authority had found the petitioner’s identity record suspicious. According to NADRA, the issue required further verification of the citizen’s record and identity documents. After hearing both sides, the court did not immediately order the restoration of the CNIC. Instead, the bench directed the petitioner to appear before the NADRA Board. The court’s direction means that the petitioner will have an opportunity to present his position before the relevant authority. NADRA will then examine the matter in accordance with its verification process. The case highlights the importance of accurate identity records and the procedures followed when questions arise over a citizen’s documentation. The court’s order also provides a formal channel for the petitioner to address the concerns raised by NADRA

Govt raises fuel prices as petrol pump strike thre…

The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, while petrol pump owners have announced a nationwide strike after failing to reach an agreement with the government over the newly introduced daily fuel pricing system. Under the latest notification, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs7.15 per litre, rising from Rs360.06 to Rs367.21. The price of petrol has also been increased by Rs4.93 per litre, taking it from Rs315.80 to Rs320.73. The revised prices came into effect on July 22. The increase follows the government’s decision to replace the previous fortnightly fuel price adjustment system with a daily pricing mechanism. Under the new policy, petroleum prices can now change every day depending on international oil prices and fluctuations in the exchange rate. The new pricing mechanism has been strongly opposed by petrol pump owners and fuel dealers. They argue that daily price revisions are difficult to implement and create financial uncertainty for retailers across the country. After negotiations with government officials failed, the All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) announced an indefinite nationwide strike beginning at midnight on Wednesday. The association said petrol pumps across Pakistan would remain closed until the government accepts its demands. Association leaders said discussions with the Petroleum Ministry failed to resolve major issues, including dealer profit margins and the implementation of daily fuel pricing. They insisted that the current system is not practical for petrol station operators and would create serious operational challenges. The Petroleum Retailers Association has also expressed support for the strike, raising concerns about possible disruptions in fuel supplies if the dispute continues. Meanwhile, the All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) is expected to decide whether it will formally join the protest. The association has called a meeting of its executive committee to discuss the situation and determine its future course of action. PPDA officials said they had already shared their concerns with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). According to the association, the regulator requested additional time to present the dealers’ concerns to the government before any final decision is made. Fuel dealers believe daily price changes make it difficult to manage inventories, update fuel prices, and maintain smooth business operations. They argue that the previous fortnightly pricing system provided greater stability and reduced uncertainty for both retailers and consumers. The government, however, maintains that the daily pricing mechanism will ensure that domestic fuel prices more closely reflect changes in global oil markets. Officials believe the new system will improve transparency and allow quicker adjustments to international price movements.

Supreme Court orders early hearing of Imran’s me…

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday accepted a chamber appeal filed by former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. The court directed that his petition be fixed for hearing before a Supreme Court bench at the earliest. Imran Khan has requested the court to order his transfer from Adiala Jail to Islamabad’s Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment. He has also sought permission for regular meetings with his family members, personal physicians and legal counsel. In addition, he wants his medical reports to be shared with his family. The appeal challenged an earlier decision by the Supreme Court Registrar, who had returned the petitions after raising objections. The Registrar’s Office said the petitions were incomplete because they did not include a signed power of attorney. During Friday’s proceedings, Advocate Uzair Karamat Bhandari appeared before Chief Justice Yahya Afridi in chambers on behalf of Imran Khan. After hearing the arguments, the chief justice declared the Registrar’s objections ineffective and directed the legal team to submit a signed power of attorney. The Registrar’s Office was also instructed to assign a regular case number to the petition so it could be listed for hearing without unnecessary delay. The Supreme Court further ordered that a separate petition filed by Imran Khan’s sister, Dr Uzma Khan, should be heard together with his own case. In the appeal, Imran Khan argued that the Registrar had exceeded his administrative powers by deciding the maintainability of the petition. His legal team maintained that such questions should be decided by judges because they involve constitutional and legal interpretation rather than administrative scrutiny. The petition also requested that Imran Khan be examined by doctors of his own choice. The names included Dr Khurram Mirza, Dr Asim Yusuf, Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Samina Niazi. It further asked the court to order his immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital for a detailed medical examination and treatment. The petition also sought uninterrupted access to his personal doctors, family members and lawyers during his imprisonment and treatment. Dr Uzma Khan has also challenged an Islamabad High Court ruling that refused to order Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital. She also questioned the decision denying his family access to his medical information and visits by his personal physicians. In her petition, Dr Uzma said Imran Khan and his wife are currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, while his two sons live abroad. She said she is his closest immediate family member in Pakistan and, as a medical doctor, is deeply concerned about his health. She argued that she has the legal standing to pursue the case on his behalf. Imran Khan has remained in custody since August 2023. He is serving a 14-year prison sentence in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. He is also receiving treatment for right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), an eye condition that was diagnosed earlier this year. His medical treatment has become a major political issue in recent months. Opposition leaders have repeatedly accused the government of failing to ensure proper medical care and denying him access to his personal doctors. They have also demanded his transfer to Shifa International Hospital
