Global crude oil prices climbed by more than $2 per barrel in the latest trading session, as a decline in US crude inventories boosted market sentiment and supported prices.

According to Reuters, the rise came after traders responded to signs of tighter oil supplies in the United States. A drop in crude stockpiles often signals stronger demand or reduced availability, which can encourage investors to push prices higher.

Oil prices had fallen in the previous session after tensions between Washington and Tehran showed signs of easing temporarily. However, the market regained momentum in the latest session as supply concerns returned to focus.

Brent crude futures gained $2.71, or 3.2%, to reach $86.80 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose $2.26, or 3.4%, to trade at $81.95 per barrel.

Market participants continue to closely monitor developments in the Middle East, particularly any changes in US-Iran relations, as well as global supply conditions. Any renewed tensions in the region could further affect oil markets because of the Middle East’s importance to global energy supplies.

Analysts also expect traders to keep an eye on upcoming inventory data and broader demand trends. A combination of falling stockpiles, geopolitical uncertainty and concerns over supply could continue to create volatility in international oil prices in the coming sessions.

    Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed has expressed deep concern over developments in the Mir Raza Ali case, saying she has never felt so helpless during her four-year tenure as Karachi’s police surgeon and head of medico-legal services. The police surgeon had earlier written a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East regarding the Mir Raza Ali case. In the letter, she pointed out what she described as serious shortcomings in the post-mortem report prepared by Dr Usama Sheikh. Her concerns have raised questions about the findings recorded in the post-mortem report and the medico-legal procedures followed in the case. The matter has consequently drawn attention to the importance of accurate documentation and proper medical examination in sensitive cases. Dr Summaiya’s latest remarks indicate her continued concern over the handling of the case. Some railway services were also temporarily suspended as officials carried out safety checks on tracks and infrastructure. The agency said another earthquake measuring below magnitude 5 could occur in the region during the following week. Japan lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the world’s most seismically active zones, and experiences frequent earthquakes of varying intensity.     Flash floods cut off lower Chitral

    Heavy rains have once again triggered flash floods in the Broz and Gumbas Gol streams of Lower Chitral, causing widespread damage and disrupting road connectivity. Meanwhile, flash floods blocked routes in Baroz Gol and Sheedi village, leaving several communities cut off from the main road network. The flooding has also disrupted communications after the main fibre-optic link was damaged, cutting internet services across affected areas. Thousands of residents remain stranded amid difficult conditions, with limited access to food, shelter and communication. The destruction has spread across a large part of Chitral. Several areas, from Sheshi Koh Valley and Drosh town in Lower Chitral to Mastuj in Upper Chitral, have suffered from damaged roads and disrupted connectivity. Authorities are continuing relief and clearance operations as heavy machinery works to reopen key routes and restore access to affected communities.

Kangana maintained that her intention was to highlight certain behaviors and social problems rather than criticize an entire generation.
