hidden mistake challenge

Hidden mistake challenge

Do you enjoy solving brain teasers and visual puzzles?

If yes this simple challenge is for you.

The only rule is to find the answer within 5 to 10 seconds.

The good news is that you do not need math skills or logical thinking to solve this puzzle.

It is simply a test of how carefully you observe details. Take a close look at the picture and try to find the hidden mistake before time runs out.

Many people cannot spot the error right away. In fact once they finally notice it they often wonder how they missed something so obvious.

Most people immediately focus on the numbers in the image expecting to find a mistake there. Because of this they overlook the real error.

If you could not find it within 10 seconds don’t worry. The mistake is not in the numbers.

The hidden error is actually in the text beside them. The word “mistake” is spelled incorrectly.

This happens because the brain naturally pays attention to the numbers first and assumes the text is correct.

Only after checking the numbers does it begin to notice the writing.

This simple puzzle shows how our brains can miss obvious details when our attention is focused somewhere else.

  • Don’t ignore sprouted potatoes

During the rainy season higher humidity can cause stored potatoes to develop sprouts.  Many people wonder whether these potatoes are still safe to eat or if they should be thrown away. Health experts say the answer depends on the condition of the potato. If a potato has only one or two small sprouts you can remove the sprouts and the surrounding area before cooking it. However potatoes with many sprouts green patches a soft texture or a shriveled appearance should be thrown away. Experts explain that these potatoes may contain higher levels of two natural toxins called solanine and chaconine. In large amounts these compounds can cause food poisoning and lead to nausea vomiting diarrhea stomach pain and other health problems. Sprouting is a natural process but it also shows that the potato is changing. As the sprouts grow the potato uses its stored nutrients loses moisture becomes soft and some of its starch turns into sugar. At the same time the levels of natural protective compounds called glycoalkaloids including solanine and chaconine may increase. These chemicals help protect the potato from insects and disease but can be harmful to people if consumed in high amounts. A study published in the Food and Chemical Toxicology journal in 2002 found that eating potatoes with high levels of solanine may cause nausea vomiting diarrhea and stomach cramps. In more serious cases symptoms such as headache dizziness fever drowsiness changes in heart rate and even nervous system problems may develop within a few hours. Doctors advise seeking medical care if severe or long lasting symptoms appear after eating potatoes. Experts also warn that people with diabetes should avoid heavily sprouted potatoes because some of the starch changes into sugar which may increase the potato’s glycemic index and raise blood sugar levels more quickly. Who should avoid sprouted potatoes? Health experts say young children older adults pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems should not eat sprouted green or spoiled potatoes because they are more vulnerable to the harmful effects of these natural toxins. How to store potatoes properly Experts recommend storing raw potatoes in a cool dry and dark place.  They should not be kept in the refrigerator because cold temperatures can turn starch into sugar. When these potatoes are cooked at high heat they may produce higher levels of acrylamide a compound considered potentially harmful. Potatoes should also be stored away from onions as onions can speed up the sprouting process

    Analysing Pakistan’s system collapse through Orwell’s 1984

Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, publicly conceded that the nation’s existing governance structure has collapsed. The minister admitted that the administrative machinery can no longer resolve the country’s compounding socio-economic crises. The phrase strategically slipped through while addressing the Pakistan Economic Summit in Islamabad. He warned that adhering to the status quo would drag the nation into the same stagnant cycle  ten years from now. Amidst, he called upon political parties to set aside differences, decentralize power, and establish new administrative units to avert total destabilization. Yet, this public declaration does not occur in a vacuum. It arrives amidst mounting public resentment, economic desperation, and an escalating crackdown on political dissent, particularly in regions like Azad Jammu & Kashmir and urban political centers where mass protests against state austerity and police overreach have intensified. On the surface, the minister’s statement sounds like a candid plea for political reform and democratic unity. Beneath it, lies a far more insidious dynamic. One that mirrors the political theology of George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel, 1984. Big Brother and the Permanent State In Orwell’s 1984, the state of Oceania is governed by a dual reality. On the visible surface sits the Outer Party and its administrative ministries: the Ministry of Peace (which wages war), the Ministry of Plenty (which manages scarcity), and the Ministry of Truth (which manufactures lies). But behind these facade institutions resides the true, unquestionable entity: the Party itself, epitomized by the omnipotent figure of Big Brother. The purpose of the ministers, bureaucrats, and politicians is not to serve the citizenry, but to safeguard the survival of the core entity at all costs. When applied to the political landscape of Pakistan, the Interior Minister’s declaration functions as a quintessential display of Orwellian doublethink. The ability to hold two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously and accept both of them. The visible civilians admit powerlessness, yet the hidden apparatus of establishment and the deep-state continues to wield absolute authority. The state apparatus operates under an unwritten constitutional clause: individual rights, democratic mandates, and administrative cohesion may be sacrificed, so long as the core, permanent security apparatus remains untouched and supreme. Echoes From 1971 to Kashmir This pattern of preserving an unseen core entity while allowing civilian institutions to decay is not a novel phenomenon. Rather, it is the recurring motif of the region’s post-colonial history. During the 1971 crisis in East Pakistan, the political leadership and the military high command operated under the illusion that they were protecting the sacred unity of the state. In reality, the democratic mandate of the majority population in Bengal was suppressed to protect the ideological and structural hegemony of the West Pakistani establishment—the ruling entity. The state prioritized the preservation of its central ruling elite over the actual people, ultimately leading to the violent birth of Bangladesh. Similarly, in the context of Kashmir, both regional state apparatuses have historically treated the territory not as a community of citizens with self-determination, but as a hyper-militarized buffer zone. The rights of the local population are routinely suspended under emergency clauses, security regulations, and administrative crackdowns. Kashmir becomes a national security theater where the state justifies its authoritarian measures by pointing to a existential enemy, much like Oceania’s perpetual, shifting wars with Eurasia and Eastasia. The System Has Collapsed Minister Naqvi cautions that the system is broken and warns against civil unrest. The message carries an implicit subtext: the civilian government is simply the expendable skin of the state. The real state must be shielded from public wrath. Public dissent erupts over inflation, human rights abuses, or rigged mandates. However, the state’s reaction is not to adapt to the popular will, but to enforce compliance through force. The plea for political parties to sit together is less about democratic reconciliation and more an invitation to absorb the blame for a crisis created by the underlying apparatus. Ultimately, Orwell’s warning in 1984 was not merely about surveillance or censorship. Instead it was about the total erasure of individual agency in service of an unaccountable entity.  The region remains bound to protecting a shadowy establishment at the expense of its people.

  • Easy ways to reduce belly fat

A large belly can affect your appearance but extra body fat can also increase the risk of several health problems. Health experts say that reducing belly fat requires healthy eating regular exercise enough sleep and limiting sugary foods and fast food. Making these habits part of your daily routine can support healthy weight management. • SpaceX’s 4-ton rocket crashes into Moon at 5,400mph

Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket has crashed into the Moon’s surface while travelling at a speed of 5,400 miles per hour while a telescope in Chile captured evidence of the impact. The European Southern Observatory’s (ESO) Very Large Telescope observed the impact on August 5 and detected colorful spectral lines of sodium and lithium gas. These were produced by clouds of lunar dust that were thrown up by the impact. The ESO telescope recorded the “chemical fingerprints” of the gas cloud which remained visible for around 5 to 10 minutes. The cloud was estimated to extend across dozens of kilometers. Experts had previously said that the impact could provide valuable data for future space experiments and help scientists analyze the effects of collisions involving human-made space debris. As NASA plans to establish a permanent human base on the Moon in the future understanding what happens when space debris strikes the lunar surface will be important. Impact site The impact occurred at a location on the Moon that is considered to be near the boundary between the sunlit and dark regions. When the impact sent clouds of dust into the air, they briefly became illuminated by sunlight. However, observing them with the naked eye from Earth was almost impossible. Although several satellites are currently orbiting the Moon, none was positioned at the time of the impact to directly observe it. The rocket fragment was approximately as tall as a five-story building and weighed around 4 tons. NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and South Korea’s Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter are being considered for photographing the impact site. These images could help determine how much damage was caused by the rocket although it may take several days to collect and analyze the information. It is worth noting that the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was launched in January 2025 and carried two landers toward the Moon. Its boosters returned to Earth while the upper stage continued carrying the landers toward the Moon.

  • Gas cooking may worsen asthma

A new US study suggests that using gas stoves at home may worsen asthma symptoms by reducing indoor air quality. Researchers at Case Western Reserve University studied 85 children and adults with moderate to severe asthma. Participants used gas stoves for four weeks before researchers replaced them with electric stoves at no cost. Their health was then monitored for another two to three months.  The team also measured indoor air pollution before and after the switch. The study found that burning natural gas releases harmful gases including nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide which can affect lung health over time. After switching to electric stoves nitrogen dioxide levels inside homes dropped by up to 70% while asthma symptoms became less severe. Researchers said the health improvements were similar to or even better than those usually seen with asthma medication. The study also found an 80% drop in asthma related absences from work or school and a 70% reduction in doctor visits. However the researchers said the study was small and lasted only a few months so larger and longer studies are needed to confirm the findings.
