Sheheryar Munawar’s shorts become a hot topic on social media

Sheheryar Munawar is among Pakistan’s most admired actors, known for his successful television dramas, films, and growing career as a producer. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation not only for his performances but also for taking on creative roles behind the camera. His latest production, Dar e Nijaat, recently premiered on ARY Digital, marking another important milestone in his journey in the entertainment industry. While celebrating the launch of the drama, the actor has also been enjoying a vacation in Spain alongside his wife, actress and model Maheen Siddiqui. The couple has been sharing glimpses of their European getaway with fans through social media. Their travel pictures feature beautiful streets, scenic locations, and relaxed moments together as they explore Spain during the summer season. Like many parts of Europe, Spain has been experiencing extremely high temperatures, and both Sheheryar and Maheen have been dressing in lightweight summer outfits suitable for the weather. One set of photos, however, quickly became the center of online discussion. In the pictures, Sheheryar was seen wearing a bright red short-sleeved shirt paired with matching shorts. While the actor appeared comfortable and confident in his outfit, the length of the shorts became a talking point among social media users. Maheen Siddiqui appeared to appreciate her husband’s fashion choice, and the couple looked happy and relaxed during their holiday. Fans also admired the chemistry between the newlyweds, with many leaving heart emojis and positive comments praising their vacation photos. However, not everyone reacted positively to Sheheryar’s look. Several social media users criticized the outfit, saying they felt the shorts were too short. Although many agreed that the actor looked stylish overall, they questioned his choice of clothing and shared mixed opinions in the comments section. Some users wrote that the outfit did not suit his personality, while others expressed that they preferred seeing him in more traditional or classic styles. A few comments were particularly harsh, with one person writing that the shorts looked inappropriate. Another social media user questioned the fashion choice altogether, while others simply stated that they did not like the overall appearance. Despite the criticism, many fans defended Sheheryar, pointing out that he was on vacation in Europe during peak summer and wearing clothing appropriate for the hot weather. Supporters argued that celebrities should be free to wear whatever makes them comfortable, especially while enjoying personal time away from work. As is often the case with celebrity fashion, opinions remained divided. While some social media users criticized the outfit, others appreciated Sheheryar’s confidence and believed the discussion over his clothing was unnecessary. The debate once again highlighted how public figures often receive intense scrutiny over even the smallest aspects of their personal style. For now, Sheheryar Munawar and Maheen Siddiqui continue to enjoy their holiday, sharing memorable moments with fans while balancing professional success and married life. The actor’s latest production continues to receive attention, proving that both his work and his personal life remain of great interest to audiences.

Shahid Afridi faces backlash over fan video

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has come under criticism after a video showing him pushing away a fan went viral on social media. The incident reportedly took place as Afridi was being escorted through a crowd. In the circulating footage, a young fan can be seen approaching the former cricketer before Afridi appears to push him away. The video quickly gained attention online, with users expressing disappointment over the former cricketer’s apparent reaction. Several social media users questioned whether celebrities should treat fans more respectfully, particularly when people approach them out of admiration. Afridi remains one of Pakistan’s most recognisable former cricketers. During his playing career, he built a huge following because of his aggressive batting, powerful hitting and energetic personality. Even after retiring from international cricket, he has remained in the public eye through charity initiatives, television appearances and social media activity. However, the latest video has shifted attention toward his interaction with the fan. Some users called for Afridi to explain the situation or apologise, while others criticised what they described as an unfriendly attitude. At the same time, the short clip does not provide the full context of what happened before or after the incident. It is therefore unclear what prompted Afridi’s reaction or whether there were circumstances surrounding the encounter that are not visible in the footage. The video continues to circulate across social media platforms, generating mixed reactions among users. While some have strongly criticised Afridi, others have urged people not to judge the complete situation based solely on a brief clip.

Emilio Gay boosts England ahead of Pakistan Tests

BECKENHAM: England have received a timely boost ahead of their Test series against Pakistan, with opener Emilio Gay included in the Professional County Club Select XI squad for a three-day warm-up match. Gay’s participation is encouraging news after the left-handed batter suffered a right shoulder injury while representing Durham against Middlesex in the One-Day Cup last week. He experienced discomfort early in his innings before aggravating the problem while playing a straight drive against Toby Roland-Jones. The 26-year-old was forced to leave the field after scoring nine runs from 17 deliveries, raising concerns over his availability for England’s upcoming Test assignment. However, medical scans reportedly showed no serious damage, allowing Gay to return to competitive action as England assess his fitness. The warm-up fixture at Beckenham was initially scheduled for four days but has been shortened to three following an agreement between the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board. Gay will feature alongside England Test squad members Shoaib Bashir and Matthew Fisher in the PCC Select XI. The match could provide England with an important opportunity to monitor Gay’s shoulder before the first Test. Gay earned his place in England’s Test plans after an impressive run of form and made his international debut earlier this summer. His availability is particularly significant as England reshape their batting line-up following Ben Stokes’ retirement. Bashir, meanwhile, remains highly regarded by England’s selectors despite limited recent county appearances. The young spinner may not feature in the Test XI, with England considering a four-seamer attack and relying on Dan Lawrence and Joe Root for occasional off-spin. The PCC Select XI will be coached by England Under-19 head coach Mike Yardy, with the England Lions head-coach position currently vacant. For England, Gay’s return offers a welcome sense of relief — but the warm-up match will reveal whether the opener is truly ready for the pressure of Test cricket against Pakistan. PCC Select XI squad Tom Haines (c), Shoaib Bashir, Luc Benkenstein, Caleb Falconer, Matt Fisher, Emilio Gay, Nathan Gilchrist, Josh Hull, Manny Lumsden, James Rew, James Sales, Charlie Tear, Noah Thain, Saif Zaib.

According to the PSX’s weekly market update, the KSE-100 Index gained 5,072 points during the week, closing at 176,094 points. The strong performance reflected growing investor confidence as the market continued its upward momentum. Throughout the week, the benchmark index traded within a 4,510-point range, touching a weekly high of 179,123 points while falling to a low of 174,612 points. Analysts said the wide trading range highlighted active investor participation and healthy market activity. The rally capped off a positive week in which the stock market maintained strong momentum. On the final trading day of July, the KSE-100 Index had already climbed 546 points, setting the stage for an impressive weekly finish. Trading activity also remained robust. Meanwhile, the market’s overall capitalization increased by Rs477 billion over the week, reaching Rs19.755 trillion. The significant rise in market value underscores improving sentiment among investors despite ongoing economic challenges. However, they caution that investors will continue to monitor economic indicators, corporate earnings and policy developments that could influence market direction in the coming weeks. The latest weekly performance reinforces the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s position as one of the region’s best-performing markets this year, with investors hoping the bullish trend will continue if economic stability and positive business sentiment remain intact.

US expands import blacklist over Chinese forced la…

The United States has banned imports from 43 additional Chinese companies over alleged human rights abuses and forced labour involving Uyghurs and other minority groups in the Xinjiang region. The decision marks the largest single expansion of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List since its enactment in December 2021, bringing the total number of restricted entities from 144 to 187. Newly blacklisted firms span electronics, lithium, metals, pharmaceuticals, and food sectors, including major capacitor manufacturer Hunan Aihua Group and exporter Chacha Food Co, which US officials accuse of sourcing materials or recruiting personnel through state-backed forced labour programmes. While US Customs and Border Protection has intercepted more than 24,300 shipments valued at nearly $1 billion under the law, the Chinese embassy in Washington has rejected the allegations, maintaining that workers of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang freely choose their employment and receive equal remuneration.
