Ariana Grande takes legal action after alleged the…

Ariana Grande is taking a firm stand against the unauthorized leaks of her unreleased music and private creative materials. The Grammy-winning singer has filed a lawsuit against unidentified individuals, accusing them of orchestrating a years-long hacking campaign that targeted people within her professional circle and resulted in the release of confidential content never meant for the public.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 27, Grande’s lawsuit names John Doe 1 and John Does 2 through 100 as defendants. The singer alleges that the individuals illegally accessed digital accounts belonging to photographers, producers and other close collaborators through phishing schemes and other hacking methods. The complaint claims the hackers stole unreleased songs, photographs, videos and audio recordings documenting Grande’s creative process.

Grande’s legal team argues that the stolen files were never intended for public release and that some of the material was sold on the dark web for significant amounts of money. The lawsuit further claims that 45 unreleased songs were leaked in 2023 alone and that hundreds of similar leaks have affected the singer since the beginning of her music career in 2011. According to the complaint, the repeated breaches have caused “substantial and irreparable harm” to both her career and her personal privacy.

The singer is not only seeking damages but is also asking the court to help identify the anonymous individuals behind the alleged cyberattacks. By obtaining subpoenas, her legal team hopes to trace the hackers’ digital footprints and hold them accountable for what the lawsuit describes as an unlawful invasion of privacy and intellectual property theft.

A source close to Grande told People that the legal action goes beyond her personal case. The source said the lawsuit is intended to protect artists’ rights and discourage future attacks on musicians and other creators. “Artists deserve the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world,” the source said, emphasizing that unauthorized leaks undermine the creative process.

Grande has previously spoken out against music leaks. In a 2024 interview, she warned those responsible for leaking her unreleased song “Fantasize” that there would be consequences, famously saying, “I’ll see you in jail, literally.” Her latest lawsuit demonstrates that she is now following through on that warning.

As the legal battle unfolds, Grande’s case highlights the growing challenges artists face in protecting their work in the digital age. The outcome could have wider implications for how the entertainment industry combats cybercrime, safeguards unreleased content and defends creators’ rights in an increasingly connected world.

Seales rocks Pakistan as West Indies tighten grip on first test

TAROUBA: Pakistan’s batting line-up came under early pressure as the visitors slipped to 25-3 while chasing a target of 211 against the West Indies on the fourth day of the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Tuesday. West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales made an immediate impact with the new ball, removing Pakistan’s top order during an impressive opening spell. His early breakthroughs left the tourists struggling before lunch and handed the hosts complete control of the contest. Pakistan’s chase began on a disappointing note when opener Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for just five runs. Azan Awais also failed to settle at the crease, contributing only three runs before returning to the pavilion. With both openers dismissed inside the first five overs, Pakistan found themselves under significant pressure at 21-2. Seales continued his destructive spell by trapping Salman Ali Agha leg before wicket without allowing him to score. The dismissal reduced Pakistan to 25-3, placing the visitors in a difficult position with a challenging target still well out of reach. Experienced batter Babar Azam then joined wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan in an attempt to stabilize the innings. The pair negotiated the remaining overs of the morning session without losing another wicket, providing Pakistan with some much-needed resistance after the early collapse. Earlier in the day, Pakistan’s bowlers wrapped up the West Indies’ second innings for 181, setting a victory target of 211. Veteran fast bowler Mohammad Abbas starred with the ball, producing another outstanding spell to claim his seventh five-wicket haul in Test cricket. The West Indies resumed play at 126-7, hoping their lower order could stretch the lead and make Pakistan’s chase more difficult. Shamar Joseph and Kemar Roach responded with an aggressive counterattack, frustrating the Pakistani bowlers with a valuable lower-order partnership. The pair added 28 runs during the morning session to extend their stand to 61 runs. Their attacking approach pushed the West Indies’ overall lead beyond 180 runs, strengthening the hosts’ position in the match. Shamar Joseph played an entertaining innings, scoring 38 runs from just 27 deliveries. His knock featured four towering sixes and one boundary, allowing the West Indies to score valuable quick runs before Pakistan finally broke the partnership. Mohammad Ali provided the breakthrough by deceiving Joseph with a slower delivery, bringing an end to the dangerous stand. Despite the dismissal, the West Indies tail continued to add useful runs as Kemar Roach and Jomel Warrican frustrated Pakistan with another steady partnership. Roach contributed 18 runs before becoming Mohammad Abbas’ fourth victim of the innings. Warrican also added an important 14 runs, helping the West Indies move their lead closer to the 200-run mark. Abbas then completed the innings by dismissing Warrican, finishing with exceptional figures of 5 wickets for 22 runs in 15.5 overs. His disciplined pace bowling proved crucial in preventing the West Indies from posting an even bigger target. Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad also played important supporting roles with the ball. Ali picked up two wickets in his 14-over spell, while Khurram Shahzad claimed two scalps after bowling 15 overs. Although Pakistan succeeded in restricting the West Indies to 181 in the second innings, the visitors’ difficult start with the bat shifted the momentum back in favour of the home side. With Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease, Pakistan will rely heavily on their experienced pair to steer the chase and keep hopes of victory alive as the first Test heads toward an exciting finish.

India Gen Z movement: Youth protests create new ch…

A wave of youth-led protests in India has brought the power of Generation Z into the spotlight, with thousands of young people taking to the streets over concerns related to education, employment, examination systems, and governance. Political observers say the rise of Gen Z movements across South Asia reflects a growing frustration among young people who are demanding accountability, transparency, and better opportunities. Similar youth movements in countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have previously influenced political developments, raising questions about whether India could witness a similar shift. Recent demonstrations in New Delhi have drawn significant attention, with students and young activists gathering at Jantar Mantar and attempting to march toward Parliament. Protesters have been demanding action over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and changes within the education system. The demonstrations intensified after clashes between protesters and police, with authorities using measures including batons and tear gas to disperse crowds. Several protesters were reportedly injured during the action, while opposition parties and rights groups criticized what they described as excessive use of force. The movement has also gained support from prominent social activists, including Sonam Wangchuk, whose participation attracted wider public attention. Student leaders say their campaign is focused on protecting the future of millions of young people affected by problems in the education and examination systems. One of the major concerns raised by protesters is alleged paper leaks and irregularities in competitive examinations, including medical entrance tests. Students argue that such issues have damaged trust in the examination system and created uncertainty for millions of aspiring candidates. The protesters are also demanding accountability from education authorities and calling for stronger action against those responsible for examination-related failures. Some activists have raised broader concerns about unemployment, rising education costs, and the future of public institutions. Experts believe the growing influence of Gen Z activism represents a major change in political engagement. Unlike traditional movements, many of these campaigns use social media platforms to organize supporters and spread messages rapidly. The emergence of youth-led movements presents a challenge for governments across the region. Analysts suggest that young citizens are increasingly unwilling to ignore issues related to governance, fairness, and economic opportunities. As the movement continues to develop, its long-term impact on India’s political landscape remains a key question. The growing participation of young people indicates that Gen Z is becoming an important voice in shaping future debates over policy and governance.

SBP chief reaffirms Islamic banking push

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Jameel Ahmad has reaffirmed the central bank’s commitment to implementing a fully Shariah-compliant financial system, saying the SBP continues to work closely with the government to achieve the country’s Islamic banking goals. Addressing a ceremony via video link, Ahmad said the central bank has introduced several measures to facilitate freelancers, helping them receive payments more easily through formal banking channels. He noted that these initiatives have contributed to an increase in workers’ remittances and strengthened the flow of foreign exchange into Pakistan. The SBP governor said the central bank has established a dedicated steering committee to oversee the transition toward Islamic banking. He added that the SBP is revising its regulatory and operational framework to ensure it fully complies with Shariah principles while supporting the financial sector’s gradual transformation. Ahmad recalled that Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had expressed the vision of an Islamic financial system during the inauguration of the State Bank in 1948. He said the government has adopted a roadmap to implement a complete Islamic banking system by December 2027, and the SBP remains committed to meeting that target in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. He also revealed that work is underway to develop a comprehensive asset register for government-owned assets, describing it as an important step in supporting Islamic finance initiatives. Stressing the importance of skilled professionals, Ahmad said expanding the capacity of the banking workforce will play a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Islamic banking system across the country.
