Burnt body found in Karachi car identified through…

A partially burnt body discovered inside a car in Karachi’s Surjani Town has been identified through biometric technology after an initial case of mistaken identity complicated the investigation.

According to police, the body was recovered from a vehicle in Shah Beg Goth, located in Karachi’s District West. At first, investigators believed the deceased was 42-year-old Zeeshan Naz, based on documents, a mobile phone, and the vehicle found at the scene. However, when the suspected victim’s family was contacted, they identified the recovered belongings but stated that the body did not belong to their relative.

The conflicting information prompted investigators to expand the scope of their inquiry. Police used biometric verification and other technical methods to establish the victim’s identity. The biometric scan confirmed that the deceased was 38-year-old Qurban Hussain, son of Ghulam Sabir Khan.

After confirming the identity, police traced and contacted the victim’s family. Authorities said Qurban Hussain originally belonged to Muzaffargarh but had been living with his wife in North Karachi Sector 7-A, where he worked as a sanitation worker.

His wife, Sakina Bibi, later identified the body, bringing an end to the uncertainty surrounding the victim’s identity. Police said the discovery marks significant progress in the investigation, although several questions about the case remain unanswered.

Investigators are now trying to determine how the victim ended up inside the vehicle and the circumstances that led to his death. They are also searching for the individual connected to the documents and mobile phone recovered from the car, as those items do not belong to the deceased. Authorities believe tracing that person could provide important leads in the homicide investigation.

Police have confirmed that a murder case is being registered, and further investigations are underway to identify those responsible. Forensic evidence, digital records, and witness statements are expected to play a key role in uncovering the sequence of events.

The case highlights the importance of biometric technology in criminal investigations, particularly when victims are difficult to identify due to the condition of the body. By combining forensic techniques with technical investigations, law enforcement officials were able to establish the victim’s identity despite the initial confusion.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive or announced any arrests. Investigators say they are pursuing multiple leads and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.

Modi says he forgives students over protest slogans

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he forgives students who shouted abusive slogans against him during last month’s nationwide demonstrations, describing them as “misled children” who should be guided instead of punished. Speaking in a video message, Modi said the protesters had used offensive language against him and his late mother during the demonstrations. Despite that, he said he did not want young people to face legal action or social persecution, stressing that they should be shown the “right path” rather than dragged into lengthy court proceedings. The protests emerged after controversy surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), one of India’s largest competitive examinations. The movement gained momentum after the exam was cancelled because of a paper leak, forcing more than two million students to retake the test. What began as an online campaign for education reforms quickly developed into a nationwide protest movement, drawing thousands of students onto the streets. The demonstrations eventually ended after the Indian government accepted several key demands, including the resignation of the education minister. Authorities also announced that criminal cases against protesters would not be pursued. However, reports indicate that police in several states later registered cases against hundreds of demonstrators, particularly those accused of clashing with security personnel or participating in protests where anti-government slogans were raised. The development has sparked criticism from opposition parties and student groups, who argue that it contradicts the government’s earlier assurances. The protests were accompanied by clashes between demonstrators and security forces in several cities. In New Delhi, police used tear gas, baton charges and other crowd-control measures to stop protesters attempting to march towards parliament. Some student activists have also alleged that participants, particularly female protesters, became targets of online harassment and threats on social media following the demonstrations. Rights advocates have expressed concern over the growing hostility directed at student activists during the protest movement. The opposition has intensified pressure on the government, demanding accountability for the police response to the demonstrations. Critics have also questioned the continued registration of cases against protesters despite earlier commitments to withdraw legal action. Meanwhile, the Indian government has introduced legislation aimed at strengthening laws against examination fraud. The proposed bill seeks tougher penalties, including longer prison terms and heavier fines, for those involved in examination paper leaks.

Taylor Swift fans celebrate Folklore’s sixth anniversary

Taylor Swift fans across the globe are celebrating a major musical milestone today, marking exactly six years since the pop superstar shocked the entertainment world with the surprise release of her critically acclaimed eighth studio album, Folklore. Dropped with less than 24 hours’ notice on July 24, 2020, during the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, Folklore represented a massive sonic pivot for the artist. Trading her signature upbeat stadium-pop sound for moody, atmospheric indie-folk production, Swift collaborated remotely with Aaron Dessner of The National and Jack Antonoff to craft an introspective record that deeply resonated with a worldwide audience isolated in quarantine. Fans, affectionately known as Swifties, flooded social media platforms to commemorate the six-year anniversary. Trending hashtags such as #6YearsOfFolklore dominated platforms like X and TikTok, with fans sharing favorite tracks, elaborate lyric deep-dives, and emotional personal stories of how the melancholic album provided a much-needed sense of comfort and escapism during the unprecedented uncertainty of 2020. Popular tracks like “August,” “Cardigan,” and the haunting Bon Iver collaboration “Exile” saw a significant surge in streaming numbers as dedicated listeners revisited the album’s rich, fictional storytelling. Beyond its massive fan reception, Folklore proved to be both a commercial juggernaut and a towering critical triumph. The 16-track project famously secured the prestigious Album of the Year award at the 2021 Grammy Awards, making Swift the first female artist in music history to win the industry’s top prize three times. Music critics widely regard the atmospheric record as a definitive turning point in Swift’s lengthy career, brilliantly showcasing her evolution from an autobiographical pop star to a masterful, imaginative storyteller capable of weaving complex, character-driven narratives. The six-year milestone coincides with Swift’s ongoing global dominance. As her monumental Eras Tour continues to shatter box office records worldwide, the Folklore “era” remains a central and highly anticipated segment of her three-hour live shows. During the tour, Swift famously performs tracks from the album on a moss-covered cabin set, visually recreating the rustic cottagecore aesthetic that defined the celebrated release. Swift’s official management team, Taylor Nation, joined the vibrant online celebration by posting nostalgic tributes and behind-the-scenes glimpses from the album’s minimalist, self-styled photoshoot. As fans continue to spin their vinyl records and stream the haunting melodies of Folklore, the six-year anniversary serves as a powerful reminder of how a quiet, quarantine-born project fundamentally reshaped the trajectory of one of the biggest careers in modern history, firmly cementing Taylor Swift’s enduring legacy as a generational songwriter.

IShowSpeed’s 60M celebration ends in horror

Popular YouTube streamer IShowSpeed’s celebration after reaching 60 million subscribers took an unexpected turn when a balloon stunt inspired by a Disney movie ended in a dangerous fall. The content creator planned the unusual celebration as a tribute to Disney’s animated film “Up”, in which a house is lifted into the sky using thousands of balloons. Speed attempted a similar stunt by attaching himself to a chair connected to large helium balloons. According to reports, Speed and his team prepared the stunt gradually. They added smaller balloons during his journey toward the subscriber milestone and later replaced them with much larger balloons for the final attempt. At the beginning of the stunt, crew members helped keep the chair stable as Speed slowly moved upward. After officially reaching the 60 million subscriber mark, the streamer became emotional and asked to be released to experience the flight on his own. However, moments later, several balloons reportedly burst while he was in the air, causing the setup to lose balance. The failure of the balloon system resulted in Speed falling to the ground. The incident was captured during a live broadcast and quickly spread across social media platforms. In the footage, Speed appeared shaken after the fall, breathing heavily, while blood was visible on his forehead. The livestream was immediately switched to another camera angle following the incident. The stunt attracted mixed reactions from viewers. Some fans expressed concern over the risks involved and questioned the safety measures taken during the attempt. Others reacted with humour, comparing the failed stunt to the animated film that inspired it. Some social media users also questioned whether the incident was staged, while others defended Speed and said the fall appeared genuine. The incident has renewed discussions about the safety risks involved in extreme online content, as creators increasingly attempt unusual challenges to entertain millions of followers.

Ed Sheeran shares the story behind KATSEYE’s ‘Animal’

Ed Sheeran has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of KATSEYE’s latest single, “Animal,” revealing how the collaboration began and the inspiration behind the song and its music video. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter recently shared a studio recording in which he explained that the project started after he heard KATSEYE’s breakout hit, “Gnarly,” while traveling in Mexico. Impressed by the group’s sound and energy, Sheeran said he became an instant fan and reached out with the hope of writing a song for them. The studio clip shows Sheeran performing the chorus before the members recorded their vocals, offering a glimpse into the songwriting process. He explained that “Animal” is about the side of a person that only close friends or loved ones truly get to see. According to Sheeran, everyone has a bold, carefree version of themselves that comes alive when they feel completely comfortable, and the song encourages listeners to embrace that hidden confidence. That message is reflected throughout the official music video, which blends polished visuals with high-energy choreography. The members transition between refined, glamorous looks and more fearless performances, representing the contrast between the image people present to the world and the uninhibited version of themselves. The visual concept reinforces the song’s themes of confidence, freedom and self-expression. The music video also features a special cameo from actress Demi Moore, who helps introduce the story before the group fully embraces their “animal” personas. Her appearance adds a dramatic element to the narrative, leading into the video’s vibrant dance sequences and striking visuals. Sheeran’s collaboration with KATSEYE highlights his admiration for the rising global group. Rather than being approached to write the track, he revealed that his interest stemmed from genuinely enjoying their music and wanting to contribute to their next chapter. By combining Sheeran’s songwriting with KATSEYE’s powerful vocals and performance style, “Animal” showcases the group’s evolving artistry while giving fans a rare look at the creative journey that transformed an idea in the studio into one of their latest releases. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbV6A–iZhj/?igsh=azZ0cTB2ZGlvdGIx
