  • Why does your nose get blocked at night?

Do you breathe normally during the day but find your nose getting blocked as soon as you lie down at night?  This is a common problem for many people. A blocked nose can disturb sleep force you to breathe through your mouth and leave you with a dry mouth or sore  throat in the morning. Many people think a blocked nose is only caused by a cold but doctors say there can be several other reasons. Your sleeping position One of the most common reasons is the position of your body while sleeping.  During the day when you are sitting or standing gravity helps mucus drain from the nose. When you lie down mucus can collect inside the nasal passages making the nose feel blocked and making breathing more difficult. Natural changes at night The body also goes through natural changes during sleep.  Hormone levels and nerve activity can affect the blood vessels and tissues inside the nose. These changes may increase swelling or mucus in the nasal passages. People who already have allergies or nasal inflammation may notice the problem more strongly at night. Allergies in the bedroom Allergies can be another major reason for nighttime nasal blockage.  If your nose becomes blocked mainly after going to bed check your sleeping environment. Dust, bedding, pillows, curtains and carpets can contain tiny dust mites that may trigger allergies.  Damp walls and mold can also cause sneezing, itching and a blocked nose. Regularly washing bedding cleaning the room and keeping the sleeping area dry may help reduce these triggers. Acid reflux can also play a role Acid reflux may also cause problems at night. Eating a heavy meal and lying down soon afterward can allow stomach acid to move toward the throat. This may cause throat irritation and sometimes a feeling of nasal blockage. If you also experience heartburn a sour taste in the mouth frequent throat clearing or a burning throat in the morning it is better to speak with a doctor. Simple ways to feel better If you wake up with a blocked nose a saline nasal rinse may help clear mucus and make breathing easier.  Use a properly prepared saline solution and follow safe instructions when rinsing the nose. If your throat feels irritated gargling with warm salt water may provide some relief. Good oral hygiene is also important for overall mouth and throat health. When should you see a doctor? Occasional nasal blockage is usually not a major concern. However you should not ignore it if your nose is blocked every night or your sleep is regularly disturbed. See a doctor if you have persistent sneezing, facial pain headaches fever breathing difficulty or ongoing nasal discharge. Finding the real cause of nighttime nasal blockage can help improve both your sleep and breathing.

  • Stay safe from viral fever during monsoon

When the rainy season begins after the hot summer cases of different illnesses often increase.  Viral fever is one of the common health problems people may experience during changing weather. Many people first develop a sore throat or runny nose followed by fever that may last several days.  It can leave the body feeling weak and may cause headaches body aches, chest discomfort or throat pain. Children older adults and people with weaker immune systems may be more likely to develop complications. A few simple habits can help reduce the risk of infections during the rainy season. Keep your hands clean Germs and viruses can stay on frequently touched surfaces such as door handles mobile phones railings and other objects. Wash your hands with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds after returning home before eating and after using the bathroom.  If soap and water are not available use an alcohol based hand sanitizer. Try not to touch your eyes nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Eat a healthy diet A healthy diet supports the body’s immune system. During the rainy season include fresh fruits vegetables lentils, milk yogurt and eggs in your meals. Foods containing vitamin C and zinc can also be part of a balanced diet. Try to avoid unhygienic street food and foods that are heavily fried. Drink safe and clean water Rainy weather can increase the risk of infections caused by contaminated water.  Drink properly filtered or boiled water whenever possible. Avoid uncovered drinks and ice from places where water  quality is uncertain. Drinking enough clean water throughout the day also helps prevent dehydration. Take care after getting wet If you get caught in the rain change out of wet clothes as soon as possible and dry  your hair properly. Staying in wet clothes for a long time can make you uncomfortable and may contribute to illness. If needed take a warm shower and change into clean, dry clothes. Get enough sleep and rest Good sleep helps the body maintain a healthy immune system. Poor sleep and constant stress can affect overall health. Try to get around seven to eight hours of sleep each night. Light exercise walking or gentle yoga can also help keep the body active. Avoid close contact with sick people Some viral infections can spread through coughing sneezing and close contact.  Keep some distance from people who are sick and avoid crowded places when possible. Wear a mask when needed and do not share personal items such as towels drinking bottles or utensils with someone who is ill.  Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing. Pay attention to early symptoms Do not ignore symptoms such as fever sore throat headache runny nose or body aches. Get enough rest drink warm fluids and monitor your condition. Avoid taking antibiotics without medical advice because antibiotics do not treat most viral infections and unnecessary use can be harmful. Know when to see a doctor Seek medical care if your fever reaches 102°F (38.9°C) or higher lasts for more than three days or is accompanied by breathing difficulty repeated vomiting fainting, or severe weakness. The rainy season can be enjoyable but taking basic health precautions is important. Good hygiene safe food and water enough rest and early attention to symptoms can help reduce the risk of illness during changing weather.

  • Keep your laptop cool

A charger should not be chosen only because its connector fits your laptop. Its voltage, current and power rating must also match the laptop’s requirements. Using a cheap or poor quality charger can cause charging problems and may damage the battery or other components.  In some cases faulty chargers can also create electrical or fire hazards. Do not ignore excessive heat If your laptop becomes unusually hot while charging do not ignore it. High temperatures can reduce battery health and may affect other internal components. Stop demanding tasks for a while, move the laptop to a cooler place and make sure its vents are not blocked.  A good cooling pad may also help in some situations. Avoid heavy work while charging Using a laptop while it is charging is not automatically harmful.  Normal activities such as browsing the internet writing documents or watching videos are usually fine. However heavy gaming 4K video editing or running demanding software can put a lot of load on the processor and cooling system.  If the vents are blocked or full of dust the laptop may become even hotter. Do not regularly drain the battery to zero Repeatedly allowing a modern lithium-ion or lithium polymer battery to reach 0% is generally not the best everyday habit. Try to charge the laptop before the battery becomes completely empty. If the battery percentage seems inaccurate follow the manufacturer’s instructions for battery calibration if that feature or procedure is recommended. Be careful with public charging Avoid using unknown chargers power banks or cables in public places.  Poor quality charging equipment can damage your device while unfamiliar USB connections may also create security and data risks. Keep the laptop clean dust can build up around cooling fans and air vents over time. This can reduce airflow and cause the laptop to heat up. Clean the vents regularly using a suitable cleaning method recommended for your laptop.  Avoid forcing dust deeper into the device. Use a Proper battery and Charger A laptop battery is more than a simple power source. It includes safety features and charging controls designed for a specific device. If the original battery needs replacement choose a compatible good-quality battery from a reliable source rather than using an unverified replacement. If the battery becomes swollen the bottom of the laptop starts to bulge the device suddenly shuts down or it becomes unusually hot stop using it and have it checked by a qualified technician.  Do not try to open or remove a swollen battery yourself. Check the Charging cable The charging cable is just as important as the charger. Do not use a cable that is cut burned damaged unusually hot or has a loose connection. A damaged cable can cause unstable charging and may create electrical or safety risks. Small habits can protect your laptop Charging a laptop is simple but careless habits can slowly affect its battery and overall performance. Using the right charger keeping the device cool avoiding blocked vents and taking care of the battery can help your laptop stay in good condition for longer.

Ducky bhai questions parents’ role in children?…

Pakistani YouTuber Ducky Bhai has questioned the growing criticism of YouTubers over their alleged negative influence on children, arguing that parents must also take responsibility for their children’s upbringing and online activities. In his recent remarks, Ducky Bhai rejected the idea that YouTubers alone are responsible when children are exposed to inappropriate or negative content. He questioned where parents are when children are spending significant amounts of time online and consuming digital content. According to Ducky Bhai, content creators should make an effort to keep their videos clean and appropriate. However, he stressed that YouTubers cannot be expected to act as parents for every child watching their content. He argued that parents have a key role in deciding what their children watch and how much time they spend online. Monitoring internet activity, setting boundaries and discussing appropriate content with children, he suggested, should be part of responsible parenting. Ducky Bhai also referred to his own childhood while explaining his perspective. He recalled that his father encouraged him to focus on his studies and used rewards, including the promise of a PlayStation for good performance, as motivation. He further revealed that his father had installed security measures on his computer that allowed him to monitor his activities. According to Ducky Bhai, this close supervision helped his parents remain aware of what he was doing online. His comments have renewed discussion about the responsibilities of parents and digital content creators in an age when children have easy access to YouTube and other online platforms. While creators can influence young audiences through the content they publish, Ducky Bhai believes parents cannot simply shift the entire responsibility onto YouTubers. Instead, he says families should actively monitor children’s digital activities and guide them toward appropriate content. The debate highlights a broader challenge for modern families: balancing children’s access to entertainment and technology with parental supervision. As online platforms continue to become an important part of children’s daily lives, both content creators and parents face increasing pressure to ensure that young viewers are exposed to safe and suitable material.

  • Multani mitti for oily skin

You do not always need expensive beauty products to keep your skin clean, fresh and healthy. Multani Mitti also known as Fuller’s Earth has been used in home beauty routines for many years. It is especially popular among people with oily skin because it can help absorb extra oil and remove dirt from the skin. Multani Mitti can be used occasionally as a simple face mask but it should not be considered a cure for every skin problem. Reason, passion and desire

We often like to view ourselves as unified, consistent individuals guided by singular motives. Yet, almost everyone has experienced an intense internal conflict. It’s wanting to spend on a impulse buy while knowing it defies financial logic. Or feeling overcome with regret immediately after giving in to a temptation. Over two millennia ago, the ancient Greek philosopher Plato set out to explain this psychological friction in Book IV of his masterwork, the Republic. Plato proposed that our psyche is composed of three distinct yet interacting forces rather than treating the human mind or psuche (soul) as a monolithic entity. Plato developed the concept of the tripartite soul. Further, he offered a framework that remains remarkably relevant to modern understandings of human behavior, self-control and moral choice. The Three Components of the Psyche Plato divides the human mind into three primary elements, each responsible for different aspects of our drives and behavior. 1. The Appetitive Element (To Epithumetikon) The appetitive part is the largest and most primal component of human nature. It encompasses our basic instinctual desires, including physical appetites for food, drink, comfort, and sensual pleasure, as well as material wants. Because these cravings are immediate and self-interested, the appetitive drive is inherently impulsive. Left unchecked, it seeks gratification regardless of long-term consequences. 2. The Spirited Element (To Thumoeides) The spirited element represents our emotional drive, passion, and sense of honor. It is the source of courage, pride, and righteous indignation when we witness or experience injustice. Unlike raw bodily appetite, the spirited part is closely tied to our moral identity and self-image. When functioning healthily, spirit acts as an ally to reason. It generates feelings of shame or self-directed anger when we surrender to harmful appetitive urges. 3. The Rational Element (To Logistikon) The rational element is the calculating and reflective mind. It seeks truth through logic, forethought, and critical reflection. What sets rationality apart from the other two components is its scope. While appetite and spirit focus on fulfilling specific, immediate goals, the rational mind evaluates what is best for the entire person in the long run. The Conflict Within: Why the Soul Divides To demonstrate that these three elements are truly distinct, Plato relies on an early formulation of the principle of non-contradiction: a single entity cannot simultaneously move in opposite directions in the exact same respect. Therefore, when a person experiences contradictory impulses such as feeling an intense thirst yet consciously choosing not to drink due to illness or health concerns, different parts of the mind must be in opposition. A classic illustration of this psychological war is the story of Leontius. While walking, Leontius felt a compulsive curiosity to look at execution corpses lying on the ground. Simultaneously, he felt disgust and moral repulsion. Eventually, his base appetite won out, causing him to rush over while angrily cursing his own eyes. This reaction demonstrates the spirited part of the soul becoming angry at the appetitive part for overriding rational judgment. From Conflict to Harmony Plato’s goal was not to suggest that humans should eradicate desire or emotion altogether. Instead, he argued that mental health and moral integrity, what he called justice of the soul, require a proper hierarchy. Reason must govern, serving as the wise leader that understands the big picture. Spirit must protect and enforce reason’s guidance with courage and conviction. Appetite must operate within temperate limits established by reason.   When these three components function in balance, an individual achieves psychological harmony. Conversely, when base desires or untamed emotions usurp the throne, inner turmoil and destructive behaviors follow. Plato’s tripartite framework ultimately serves as a timeless reminder that self-mastery is not about suppressing who we are, but about bringing our competing drives into a balanced, reason-guided unity.

  • Restarting your workout? Avoid these common mistakes

If you stopped exercising for a long time because of work stress or other reasons and are now planning to return to the gym health experts advise against starting with your old workout routine right away. After a long break the body needs time to get used to physical activity again. Starting with heavy or intense exercise too quickly can lead to muscle pain extreme tiredness and a higher risk of injury. Why you should start slowly Busy work schedules long meetings stress and personal responsibilities often cause people to stop exercising.  When they return to the gym many assume they can immediately exercise at the same level as before. However staying inactive for a long time can reduce muscle strength flexibility and stamina. The body needs time to rebuild these abilities so suddenly doing hard workouts can put too much pressure on the muscles and joints. Begin with light exercise Experts recommend starting with simple stretching exercises to prepare the muscles and reduce stiffness.  Light activities such as walking or easy cardio can then help the heart and lungs adjust while gradually improving stamina. Light strength training is also useful because it helps build stronger muscles bones and joints.  Beginners should use manageable weights and focus on doing each exercise with the correct form. Rest and nutrition matter A safe return to exercise is not only about workouts. Eating a balanced diet drinking enough water and getting proper sleep can help the body recover and support muscle health. The key is to increase the intensity slowly instead of trying to make up for lost time with hard workouts. Note This information is for general awareness. Anyone with an existing health condition injury or other medical concern should consult a doctor before restarting exercise.

    Theories behind Shakespeare’s true identity

For centuries, William Shakespeare has been indicated as the undisputed genius of Western literature. His masterworks, ranging from the tragedy of Hamlet to the romantic drama of Romeo and Juliet, form the bedrock of English theater. Yet, beneath the reverence lies one of the most persistent controversies in literary history. Did a provincial actor from Stratford-upon-Avon actually pen these legendary plays? Was Shakespeare merely a convenient alias for another genius working in the shadows? The Paradox of the Bard’s Background Doubts surrounding Shakespeare’s authorship stem largely from the sharp contrast between his known biography and the astonishing depth of his literary canon. Born in 1564, Shakespeare attended the local grammar school where he learned Latin and basic rhetoric. He never pursued higher education at a university, nor did he ever leave England. In contrast, the plays attributed to him demonstrate an extraordinary mastery of complex subjects. They reveal intimate familiarity with international geography, continental languages, high-stakes royal politics, aristocratic court etiquette, and intricate legal doctrines. In an era before public libraries and widespread travel, skeptic scholars often called Anti-Stratfordians question how a man with limited schooling and exposure to foreign cultures could possess such erudition. This discrepancy has led many to speculate that the real Shakespeare acted primarily as a public frontman. As an actor and shareholder in the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, Shakespeare was well-positioned in London’s theatrical community. High-born courtiers or politically vulnerable figures who wished to write plays may have utilized Shakespeare’s name to publish their works safely. The Leading Candidates Over years, prominent figures from Tudor and Jacobean society have emerged as alternatives for the true authorship. Sir Francis Bacon: A brilliant philosopher, statesman, and pioneer of the scientific method. Bacon possessed the intellectual rigor and courtly insight required to craft the plays. Proponents argue that he’s Lord Chancellor and a government insider. So, Bacon couldn’t openly associate with public theater. It would’ve definitely ruined his political standing and risking royal disapproval. Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford: Educated at Cambridge, well-traveled throughout Europe, and a celebrated poet in his own right, de Vere fits the profile of an elite playwright. However, a major hurdle for the Oxfordian theory is that de Vere passed away in 1604 several years before iconic plays like The Tempest and Macbeth were produced. Christopher Marlowe: Perhaps the most dramatic theory involves Shakespeare’s contemporary, Christopher Marlowe. A gifted Cambridge graduate and spy for the Tudor government, Marlowe officially died in a tavern brawl in 1593. Skeptics suggest he faked his death to escape charges of heresy and treason, subsequently continuing to write under the pen name William Shakespeare. Notably, the first publications under Shakespeare’s name appeared just weeks after Marlowe’s reported demise. Was the Genius a Woman? The authorship debate extends beyond male nobles to include extraordinary women of the Elizabethan court. Shakespeare’s plays are remarkable for their nuanced, highly capable female characters who defy traditional stereotypes of the era. Two prominent women are frequently cited in authorship theories. Mary Sidney, Countess of Pembroke: An accomplished writer, classical scholar, and major patron of the arts, Sidney hosted a renowned literary salon and authored closet dramas meant for private performance. Emilia Bassano: Born to a family of Venetian court musicians believed to have Jewish heritage, Bassano possessed both international ties and formal education. Her background offers a compelling explanation for the Italian settings and Jewish themes present in works such as The Merchant of Venice. An Enduring Literary Mystery Mainstream academic consensus remains firmly with the man from Stratford-upon-Avon. They pointed to contemporary records, theatrical tributes and historical references. The debate surrounding the Bard’s identity continues to fascinate scholars and theater lovers alike. Whether created by a single self-made dramatist or a hidden collective of noble minds, the plays continue to inspire readers across the globe.

  • Can you take a bath during fever?

During the rainy season and changing weather cases of dengue malaria viral fever typhoid and other illnesses often increase. When people develop a fever many wonder whether taking a bath could make their condition worse. Health experts say that taking a bath during fever is generally safe. A bath with lukewarm water can help the body feel more comfortable and may temporarily reduce body temperature. However the water should not be extremely hot or cold. Avoid very cold water Experts advise against bathing with ice-cold or very cold water during a fever.  Sudden exposure to cold water can cause shivering. This may make the body work harder to produce heat and can increase discomfort. Very hot water should also be avoided. It can raise body temperature and may make weakness and tiredness worse. Do not use alcohol on the skin Some people use alcohol or spirit on the skin to try to lower fever. Health experts do not recommend this method. Alcohol can be absorbed through the skin and may cause harmful effects. It should especially never be used on children for this purpose. What should you do during a fever? Fever is usually not a disease itself. It is often a sign that the body is fighting an infection.  Therefore it is important to find and treat the cause of the fever instead of only trying to lower the temperature. Drink plenty of fluids during a fever to prevent dehydration. Water, ORS coconut water soup and other suitable drinks can help. Wear light comfortable clothes and make sure the room has good airflow. If a full bath feels difficult you can gently clean the body with a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water. Eating light and easily digestible foods such as porridge, khichdi, and other soft foods may also help the body recover. When should you see a doctor? A mild fever may improve with rest enough fluids and medicines recommended by a doctor. However medical help should be sought if the fever lasts for more than two to three days or is accompanied by confusion breathing problems severe headache repeated vomiting unusual skin rashes, or other serious symptoms. A baby under three months old with a fever should be examined by a doctor immediately. Overall taking a lukewarm bath during fever is usually not a problem. Staying hydrated, getting enough rest eating light food and finding the actual cause of the fever are much more important for recovery.
