Gold rates decline by Rs1,000 per tola

Gold prices continued to fall in bullion markets across Pakistan on Wednesday. The latest decline provided some relief to buyers as local rates moved lower.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold decreased by Rs1,000 per tola. The new price was recorded at Rs426,436 per tola.

The decline was also seen in the price of 10-gram gold. Its rate fell by Rs857. The price reached Rs365,600.

The latest reduction comes amid continued movement in gold prices in both local and international markets. Gold rates in Pakistan are influenced by global prices, currency movements and trends in the domestic bullion market.

The international market also recorded a decline. The price of gold fell by $10 per ounce and reached $4,040 per ounce.

The fall in international prices has also contributed to the downward movement in domestic gold rates. Local jewellers and traders closely monitor global prices when determining daily gold rates.

Gold remains a popular investment and savings option in Pakistan. Changes in its price can affect both investors and consumers planning to purchase jewellery.

The latest decline may offer some relief to customers who have been facing higher gold prices. However, market rates can change quickly depending on international developments and currency fluctuations.

Jewellers are expected to continue monitoring the international bullion market. Any major movement in global gold prices could have a direct impact on domestic rates in the coming days.

For now, the latest figures show a downward trend in gold prices in Pakistan. The per-tola rate has fallen by Rs1,000, while the price of 10 grams has declined by Rs857.

The discussions focused on increasing trade, promoting investment, improving business-to-business links, expanding people-to-people contacts, and enhancing cooperation through international forums. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments. They emphasised the need to uphold ceasefires, respect international law, and work together to promote peace and security. Oman praised Pakistan’s constructive role in encouraging dialogue and supporting regional stability. The two ministers agreed to remain in close communication on important issues. Earlier in Manila, Dar also met senior officials of the Asian Development Bank and called for faster progress on financing for Pakistan’s Main Line-1 railway project. He highlighted the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the development institution and discussed expanding cooperation in different sectors. Dar also held separate meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rehman. The discussions covered bilateral relations, trade, energy cooperation, connectivity, and future diplomatic engagement. The ASEAN Regional Forum has brought together foreign ministers and senior officials from several countries to discuss major global and regional challenges, including security issues, energy supplies, trade, food security, and ongoing conflicts.

    LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has arrested three suspects in coordinated operations across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan for allegedly harassing, blackmailing, and targeting women through social media platforms. The operations were carried out under the special directives and supervision of NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem as part of an intensified campaign against cyber-enabled crimes involving women. During the raids, investigators seized mobile phones, SIM cards, and other electronic devices containing digital evidence, while further investigations are underway. In Lahore, NCCIA officials arrested Qaiser Bilal in connection with FIR No. 151/2026. Authorities said a mobile phone recovered from the suspect allegedly contained objectionable photographs of the complainant, threatening messages, and evidence of image sharing. Investigators further alleged that the suspect created a private TikTok account under the name “Miss.B” to upload the victim’s photographs and falsely posed as an officer of a sensitive government institution to intimidate and blackmail her. The case is being investigated by Sub-Inspector Umm Salma. In Faisalabad, officials arrested Soban Ahmed under FIR No. 100/2026. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly used social media platforms and WhatsApp to blackmail and threaten the complainant’s sister by exploiting objectionable material. A mobile phone and SIM cards believed to have been used in the offence were recovered during the operation. Sub-Inspector Umar Rehman is leading the investigation. Meanwhile, in Multan, NCCIA arrested Muhammad Imran in connection with FIR No. 123/2026. Authorities alleged that the suspect obtained objectionable images of the complainant and circulated them through multiple WhatsApp accounts while continuously harassing the victim and her family. Investigators recovered a mobile phone, two SIM cards, and the WhatsApp account allegedly used in the crime. A court has granted a four-day physical remand of the suspect to facilitate further investigation, which is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Saeed Ahmed. Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting women from online harassment, blackmail, and the misuse of digital platforms. He said the agency would continue taking strict legal action against those involved in cybercrimes targeting women and would use advanced digital forensic techniques to ensure offenders are brought to justice.

    US strikes Iran for 13th night as Trump escalates threats

Speaking earlier, President Trump said he was considering the largest military operation against Iran since the conflict began. He stated that preparations were complete and that a final decision could be taken soon if Iran continued its attacks on US allies and military assets in the region. The latest American strikes followed another round of Iranian missile and drone attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. Iranian military officials said the attacks targeted US military facilities stationed in those countries. Tehran described the strikes as retaliation for continued US attacks on Iranian territory and infrastructure. Iran also claimed responsibility for striking a telecommunications tower in Kuwait. Iranian officials said the attack was carried out in response to previous US strikes on communication facilities inside Iran. Kuwaiti authorities later confirmed that hostile drones also targeted the Abdali border crossing with Iraq, raising security concerns along the frontier. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that the country would continue responding to every attack under an “eye for an eye” policy.
