Keke Palmer opens up about Sean Evans romance rumo…

Keke Palmer has finally broken her silence on the romance rumours surrounding her and Hot Ones host Sean Evans, admitting that their chemistry is genuine while expressing surprise at how quickly fans have turned their connection into a full-blown love story.

The actress and singer appeared on the July 27 episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, where she candidly discussed the public fascination with her relationship status. Palmer revealed that she has been repeatedly asked about Evans ever since the pair’s flirtatious interactions and public outings sparked dating speculation.

“Our chemistry is genuine,” Palmer said during the interview, adding that the connection between them has always felt natural from the very first time they worked together. She stressed that the chemistry wasn’t something they planned or created for publicity, explaining that it simply developed organically over time.

However, Palmer admitted she was taken aback by how quickly fans began imagining a serious romance. She joked that people seemed ready to “marry” them before they had even figured out where their friendship was headed. Describing the online reaction as “parasocial,” Palmer said social media often encourages people to create stories about celebrities before those celebrities have had the chance to live them.

The actress even recalled an awkward encounter with a fan while passing through airport security. According to Palmer, someone immediately asked her whether she and Evans were together, leaving her stunned by how invested strangers had become in her personal life. While she appreciated the support, she noted that the experience highlighted just how blurred the line between celebrity and audience can become.

Rumours about Palmer and Evans began earlier this year after they were photographed enjoying dinner together in New York. Their playful chemistry, which dates back to Palmer’s appearances on Hot Ones, had already made them fan favourites. Evans had previously admitted to having a crush on Palmer, and their light-hearted interactions—including an on-camera kiss—only fueled speculation.

Despite the growing buzz, Palmer made it clear she isn’t interested in letting public opinion define their relationship. She described Evans as “my guy” and said they are simply taking things one day at a time instead of rushing to put a label on their connection.

For now, Palmer seems content to let whatever develops happen naturally. While fans continue rooting for the pair, the actress has one simple request: allow them the space to enjoy their genuine bond without writing the ending before the story has even begun.

Sarah Khan’s bridal look sparks online backlash

Pakistani television actress Sarah Khan has come under criticism on social media after unveiling a bridal makeover for a recent salon photoshoot. Known for her performances in several hit television dramas, Sarah Khan enjoys a massive fan following on social media, with more than 12.7 million followers on Instagram. She is married to singer Falak Shabir, and the couple has two daughters. For the latest photoshoot, Sarah appeared in a traditional bridal look, wearing a deep red bridal outfit paired with elaborate jewellery. The makeover was created as part of a salon campaign and the images quickly gained attention online. However, many social media users expressed disappointment with the final look. Critics argued that the makeup did not complement the actress’s natural complexion and claimed that an ivory-toned base made her appearance look less natural. Several users also said the heavy makeup and bright highlighting overshadowed Sarah Khan’s natural beauty, making her look different from her usual appearance. Some commenters felt that the makeup style made the actress appear older than her age, while others said the bold blush and styling altered her facial features. Despite the criticism, many fans defended Sarah Khan, saying she remains one of Pakistan’s most naturally beautiful actresses. They argued that the issue was with the styling and makeup rather than the actress herself. The bridal makeover has sparked widespread discussion across social media, with users sharing mixed opinions about celebrity beauty trends, professional makeup techniques and the balance between glamorous styling and a natural appearance.

Khawaja Asif urges Mohsin Naqvi to start system re…

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has advised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to begin efforts for changing the system by ensuring the implementation of the National Action Plan and improving performance within his own ministry. Reacting to Mohsin Naqvi’s recent remarks about weaknesses in the existing system, Khawaja Asif said he personally agrees to a large extent with the concerns raised by the interior minister. However, he emphasized that meaningful reforms should be pursued through constitutional and legal platforms, particularly Parliament and the cabinet. In a statement shared on social media, Khawaja Asif said that discussions about major reforms would produce better results if they were presented on parliamentary forums. He added that Parliament provides the appropriate platform for strengthening institutions and bringing sustainable changes through a constitutional process. The defence minister described Mohsin Naqvi as a powerful figure within the government and said that he should use his position to initiate practical reforms. He suggested that the process of system improvement should begin from the Interior Ministry and through the implementation of the National Action Plan. Khawaja Asif said that the evolution of the current system has been influenced by group and personal interests over several decades, and there is now a need to make institutions stronger and more independent. He stressed that reforms should not remain limited to statements but should be translated into practical measures. He further stated that important national issues should be discussed in constitutional forums such as Parliament and cabinet meetings. According to him, involving these institutions would strengthen the system, while discussions outside constitutional platforms may not have the same impact or acceptance. The defence minister also referred to the National Action Plan and said that out of the 13 points highlighted by the military leadership, the points related to the armed forces are being implemented through significant sacrifices. However, he claimed that several points under the responsibility of the Interior Ministry still require progress. Khawaja Asif urged Mohsin Naqvi to take the first step toward system reform by focusing on responsibilities already assigned to his ministry. He said that not only the business community but the entire nation would support genuine efforts aimed at improving governance and strengthening national institutions. He concluded that while discussions on reform are important, real change requires consistent action, institutional cooperation, and progress through established constitutional mechanisms.

Karan Johar throws shade at rival reality shows during ‘Traitors 2’ launch

The launch event for The Traitors India Season 2 was held in Mumbai. It was meant to introduce the new batch of contestants. But it was host Karan Johar’s remarks that ended up grabbing all the attention. Karan spoke about his role as host for this season. He hinted that his reputation would follow him into the show once again. He promised to be tougher on contestants than before. At the same time, he made it clear that entertainment would still remain the top priority. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director also explained the format of the show. According to him, the season is built around strategy, trust, and unexpected moves between contestants. These elements, he said, are what make the game so unpredictable. It was during this discussion that Karan made a subtle jab at other reality shows. He did not name any specific programme. However, he suggested that the eventual winner of this season would genuinely earn the win. This was seen as a contrast to how other competitions typically play out. Viewers quickly picked up on the comment. Many assumed it was aimed at rival reality formats currently on air. Karan did not stop there. He later made a lighter remark about Prime Video, the platform streaming the show. He spoke warmly about the partnership. He joked that being associated with the platform naturally comes with its own version of an alliance. The comment seemed to reference terms used by other popular reality shows. This only added more fuel to the online buzz. This season of The Traitors India brings together 21 new contestants. The show is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video starting August 13. That gives fans just under two weeks to prepare for its return. Beyond the contestant reveal, the event sparked plenty of conversation online. Between Karan’s sharper hosting style and his subtle digs at other shows, the launch managed to build strong buzz ahead of the premiere. With the countdown now on, attention shifts to how the new season will actually play out. Fans are curious to see whether Karan’s promise of a tougher, more strategic season holds up once the contestants settle in and the real alliances begin to form.

UEFA opposes FIFA’s $20bn commercial venture proposal

FIFA is facing growing criticism over its proposal to establish a new commercial subsidiary valued at $20 billion, a move that would oversee the commercial and operational management of the FIFA World Cup and other major international tournaments. The governing body plans to launch the new entity under the name FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE). According to the proposal, the company would be responsible for handling commercial rights, sponsorship operations, event management, and other business activities linked to FIFA’s flagship competitions. While FIFA intends to retain full control of the new company, it plans to sell up to 20 percent of its shares to outside investors. The sale is expected to raise approximately $4.2 billion, which FIFA says will be reinvested into the global development of football. The proposal has sparked strong opposition, particularly from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which argues that the plan risks turning the governance of football into a commercial asset. UEFA believes the sport’s core values should not be influenced by external investors, warning that football’s integrity and independence must remain protected. FIFA, however, insists that the new structure is designed to strengthen, rather than undermine, the global game. The organization says the funds generated through the partial sale of the company will support football development projects around the world, including investments in infrastructure, coaching programs, grassroots initiatives, women’s football, youth development, and financial assistance for member associations. FIFA President Gianni Infantino defended the proposal, saying the organization remains committed to ensuring equal opportunities for football development across all regions. He emphasized that any net profits generated through the new subsidiary would be reinvested directly into football rather than distributed elsewhere. Infantino also stressed that FIFA would continue to exercise full authority over football governance, competition regulations, the international match calendar, and the organization of its tournaments. According to FIFA, the creation of the subsidiary would not affect the governing body’s decision-making powers or its responsibility for managing the sport. Reports have suggested that the group of potential investors could be led by an investment platform associated with Joshua Kushner, although FIFA has not officially confirmed the identities of any future shareholders. The proposal has also drawn criticism from several political figures and football stakeholders, who argue that the FIFA World Cup is one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events and should not become part of a structure involving private investment. Critics believe that introducing outside shareholders, even without granting them control, could create commercial pressures that may influence the long-term direction of the sport. Despite the backlash, FIFA has made it clear that the proposal has not yet been finalized. Before any changes are implemented, the plan will be presented to FIFA’s Council and all 211 member associations for review and approval. The final decision will depend on whether FIFA’s members believe the new commercial structure can generate greater financial support for football while preserving the organization’s independence, governance, and commitment to the global growth of the game.

Germany pledges justice as Berlin attack shocks nation

BERLIN, July 26: German authorities have launched a major investigation after a vehicle drove into a crowd near a Pride event in Berlin, killing one person and injuring 16 others. The incident took place late Saturday night in the Tiergarten area, close to Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. The location was near the route of Christopher Street Day, one of Europe’s largest annual LGBTQ Pride celebrations. Emergency services said eight people were seriously injured. Three of them were in critical condition. Police have identified a man they describe as being known to authorities and linked to the Islamist scene. They released his photograph and appealed to the public for information about his whereabouts. Authorities said the suspect was believed to be around 1.90 metres tall, slim and had black hair. He was reportedly last seen wearing a black hooded top and white trousers. Police have not yet established whether the suspect acted alone. Investigators are also examining reports that more than one person may have left the vehicle after it stopped. Some of those injured reportedly suffered stab wounds, adding another element to the investigation. The vehicle eventually came to a stop after striking a tree in the Tiergarten. Police later found it empty and began searching for the person or people believed to have been involved. The remaining Christopher Street Day activities were cancelled following the attack. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt condemned the incident as a cowardly attack on people who had been peacefully celebrating. He said authorities would work to establish what happened and identify those responsible. Officials have not yet provided a clear motive for the attack. Several details also remain under investigation, including the exact sequence of events and whether more than one person was involved. The incident has also placed additional pressure on Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s coalition government. The attack comes ahead of important state elections and amid a heated political debate over immigration, public security and extremism. Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany party quickly reacted to the incident. Its leaders called for stronger action against religious extremism and warned against violence and intolerance. Authorities are continuing their search for the suspect. Police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact them as the investigation continues.
