Newborn twins found abandoned in shopping bag in G…

GUJRAT: A disturbing incident involving newborn twins abandoned in Gujrat has been reported from the Madina Syedan area within the jurisdiction of Sadar Gujrat Police Station. According to rescue officials, a newborn baby boy and girl were found after allegedly being abandoned inside a shopping bag. The infants were subsequently handed over to Child Protection Gujranwala for care and protection. Doctors who examined the newborn twins said that both babies were in good health. The children are now under the supervision of the relevant child protection authorities as further arrangements are being made for their care. Police have reportedly traced the woman believed to be the mother of the newborn twins. She is currently under police custody while receiving treatment at a hospital. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the woman, while investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to police sources, the initial investigation suggests that the woman’s husband had contracted another marriage. Police sources said the alleged abandonment of the twins may have been linked to the distress caused by the second marriage. The reported motive remains part of the preliminary investigation, and authorities are expected to gather further evidence before reaching a final conclusion about what led to the incident. The case has drawn attention to concerns surrounding the safety and protection of newborn children. Child protection authorities are currently responsible for the welfare of the two infants following their recovery. The newborn twins abandoned in Gujrat were reportedly found in a vulnerable situation, but rescue officials said both children were healthy when they were transferred to the child protection authorities. Police are continuing their investigation and are expected to determine the full circumstances of the case, including how and when the babies were abandoned and whether any other individuals were involved. The incident also highlights the importance of timely intervention by rescue services and child protection institutions in cases involving abandoned or vulnerable children. Further legal action against the woman will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation and the evidence collected by police. Authorities have not indicated that the investigation has concluded, and the reported reason for the abandonment should therefore be treated as an initial finding rather than an established fact.

LHC rejects PTI plea for Minar-e-Pakistan rally

The Lahore High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan. Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf announced the written decision on a petition filed by Mian Usman Akram. The petitioner had asked the court to allow the party to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. He argued that refusing permission for the gathering violated the constitutional right to peaceful assembly. The petition referred to Article 16 of the Constitution. The article protects the right of citizens to assemble peacefully and without arms, subject to reasonable restrictions imposed by law. The court, however, noted that the right to peaceful assembly does not mean that every gathering can be held without following the relevant legal procedure. Under the applicable law, permission for a public gathering is granted through the relevant administrative authorities. The deputy commissioner is responsible for considering such requests and issuing an NOC where required. During the proceedings, the government’s lawyer informed the court that a meeting had already been held under the deputy commissioner to consider the PTI’s request. The meeting reviewed the security and law and order situation in the area. Officials recommended that the proposed rally should not be allowed because of security concerns. The written judgment also noted the nature of Minar-e-Pakistan as a public place. The court observed that the site is regularly visited by citizens for recreational and other public activities. According to the government’s submission, the deputy commissioner had already taken a decision on the PTI’s application. The request for permission to hold the rally was rejected on August 3. The court observed that the administrative authority had already decided the matter. Therefore, the petition could not be entertained as a request for permission that was still pending before the deputy commissioner. The Lahore High Court consequently dismissed the petition.

Sheheryar Munawar’s shorts become a hot topic on social media

Sheheryar Munawar is among Pakistan’s most admired actors, known for his successful television dramas, films, and growing career as a producer. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation not only for his performances but also for taking on creative roles behind the camera. His latest production, Dar e Nijaat, recently premiered on ARY Digital, marking another important milestone in his journey in the entertainment industry. While celebrating the launch of the drama, the actor has also been enjoying a vacation in Spain alongside his wife, actress and model Maheen Siddiqui. The couple has been sharing glimpses of their European getaway with fans through social media. Their travel pictures feature beautiful streets, scenic locations, and relaxed moments together as they explore Spain during the summer season. Like many parts of Europe, Spain has been experiencing extremely high temperatures, and both Sheheryar and Maheen have been dressing in lightweight summer outfits suitable for the weather. One set of photos, however, quickly became the center of online discussion. In the pictures, Sheheryar was seen wearing a bright red short-sleeved shirt paired with matching shorts. While the actor appeared comfortable and confident in his outfit, the length of the shorts became a talking point among social media users. Maheen Siddiqui appeared to appreciate her husband’s fashion choice, and the couple looked happy and relaxed during their holiday. Fans also admired the chemistry between the newlyweds, with many leaving heart emojis and positive comments praising their vacation photos. However, not everyone reacted positively to Sheheryar’s look. Several social media users criticized the outfit, saying they felt the shorts were too short. Although many agreed that the actor looked stylish overall, they questioned his choice of clothing and shared mixed opinions in the comments section. Some users wrote that the outfit did not suit his personality, while others expressed that they preferred seeing him in more traditional or classic styles. A few comments were particularly harsh, with one person writing that the shorts looked inappropriate. Another social media user questioned the fashion choice altogether, while others simply stated that they did not like the overall appearance. Despite the criticism, many fans defended Sheheryar, pointing out that he was on vacation in Europe during peak summer and wearing clothing appropriate for the hot weather. Supporters argued that celebrities should be free to wear whatever makes them comfortable, especially while enjoying personal time away from work. As is often the case with celebrity fashion, opinions remained divided. While some social media users criticized the outfit, others appreciated Sheheryar’s confidence and believed the discussion over his clothing was unnecessary. The debate once again highlighted how public figures often receive intense scrutiny over even the smallest aspects of their personal style. For now, Sheheryar Munawar and Maheen Siddiqui continue to enjoy their holiday, sharing memorable moments with fans while balancing professional success and married life. The actor’s latest production continues to receive attention, proving that both his work and his personal life remain of great interest to audiences.
