Eva Mendes calls out fake AI photo of Gosling and Depp at comic-con

Eva Mendes has called out a viral AI-generated image that falsely showed Ryan Gosling and Johnny Depp posing together at San Diego Comic-Con. The 52-year-old actress spoke up this past weekend, right after her longtime partner Gosling was revealed as Marvel’s new Ghost Rider. Both Gosling and Depp did attend Comic-Con last week. But they showed up on different days and never actually crossed paths. The AI-made image told a different story, showing the pair walking side by side through the convention crowd. Depp appeared in character as Ebenezer Scrooge, while another figure, tagged online as Slopaxo, also showed up in the doctored photo. The image came from an account called @opavisions. Its caption claimed that watching Gosling, Depp, and Slopaxo “moving through the crowds like the unlikeliest best-friend trio” was one of the weekend’s best moments. It described candid walks, fan interactions, and spontaneous stops, framing the whole thing as a genuine, memorable sighting. Mendes was not having it. She commented directly on the post: “FAKE. Please let People know when you are putting out AI.” Her message was blunt and left no room for confusion. The account responded quickly, adding a disclaimer: “DISCLAIMER: THIS WAS AI***.” It also thanked Mendes for speaking up, promising to be clearer about AI content going forward, and voiced appreciation for both her and Gosling’s careers. In a separate comment, the account issued a short apology: “Ok we will sorry.” Meanwhile, Depp’s actual Comic-Con appearance last Thursday turned heads for real. He looked almost unrecognizable dressed as Ebenezer Scrooge, promoting his upcoming film “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol,” set to hit theaters November 13. The panel took place near a snow-covered mock storefront built in San Diego’s Gaslamp district, adding to the film’s wintry atmosphere. A source close to the event said Depp received a warm reception from fans, some of whom dressed up as characters from his most famous roles. The incident adds to a growing pattern of AI-generated celebrity images spreading online before being debunked, highlighting how quickly convincing fakes can circulate and how important it is becoming for creators to label AI content clearly from the start. https://www.instagram.com/p/DbRGQNOzbkR/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Pakistan seal seven-wicket win over County Select XI

BECKENHAM: Pakistan produced a strong second-half turnaround on Saturday, defeating the Professional County Club Select XI by seven wickets in their three-day practice match at the Kent County Cricket Ground. Chasing 262 runs for victory on the final day, Pakistan made the target look comfortable, reaching 265-3 in just 57.1 overs. The result provided an encouraging boost for the visitors ahead of their three-match Test series against England. The star of Pakistan’s successful chase was Saud Shakeel, who delivered a composed unbeaten century. Coming in at No. 3 after opener Azan Awais was dismissed for just one, Saud took control of the innings and finished with 100 not out from 147 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes. He found an ideal partner in Imam-ul-Haq, with the experienced opener producing an attacking 80 from 88 deliveries. Imam struck 13 boundaries and combined with Saud for a crucial 127-run partnership, effectively taking the game away from the hosts. Mohammad Rizwan added a useful 33, while Awais Zafar remained unbeaten on 30 to complete the chase. Earlier, the PCC Select XI resumed their second innings at 128-3, holding a 195-run lead. Pakistan’s bowlers, however, quickly turned the pressure into wickets. The hosts managed only 66 additional runs before being dismissed for 194. Falconer top-scored with 56, while Saif Zaib and Manny Lumsden contributed 24 each. Spinner Ali Usman was Pakistan’s standout bowler, finishing with an impressive five wickets for 42 runs. Ubaid Shah claimed two wickets for just nine runs, while Salman Ali Agha, Sajid Khan and Mohammad Ali took one apiece. The comeback victory comes at an important moment for Pakistan. With their first Test against England scheduled to begin in Leeds on August 19, the performances of Saud, Imam and the bowling attack offer Pakistan plenty of confidence. After struggling earlier in the match, Pakistan finished strongly — exactly the kind of response they will hope to carry into the Test series. Brief Scores Pakistan beat PCC Select XI by seven wickets PCC Select XI: 305 (S. Zaib 65, M. Fisher 62*, C. Falconer 59, T. Haines 51; M. Ali 3-23, M. Abbas 3-37) & 194 (C. Falconer 56, J. Rew 40; A. Nicola Coughlan makes stunning confession about bo…

Nicola Coughlan has offered fans a rare and sweet glimpse into her relationship with boyfriend Jake Dunn, revealing that the couple found an easy way to stay close despite their demanding acting careers. The Bridgerton star recently opened up about Dunn’s unexpected decision to remain with her in Malta while she filmed her upcoming movie The Magic Faraway Tree. Rather than spending weeks apart, the couple managed to turn Coughlan’s work trip into a memorable time together. “He actually was in Malta the whole time I was filming, so I can’t complain,” Coughlan told E! News. She explained that Dunn initially traveled to Malta to visit her while he was taking a break from filming. However, the visit quickly became something more. “He came for a visit and then stayed,” she recalled. “He was on a break from filming at that time. He’s like, ‘I think I’m gonna stay.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, stay!’”  Coughlan described the period as a particularly happy memory. Her co-stars, including Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, also had loved ones around during filming, creating a warm atmosphere away from the usual pressures of a movie set. “It’s a very happy memory, that time. It was lovely,” she said.  The couple have been romantically linked since 2024 and have generally preferred to keep their relationship away from the spotlight. Coughlan has previously spoken about how uncomfortable she felt after paparazzi photographs of her and Dunn appeared online, saying the level of attention surrounding her private life could feel overwhelming.  Despite that scrutiny, Coughlan has gradually shared small details about their romance. In March 2026, she discussed how they manage their long-distance relationship, explaining that they make an effort to stay connected through FaceTime and the videos she sends Dunn. She also praised the fact that he has his own interests and busy schedule.  Coughlan and Dunn eventually made their relationship Instagram official in February 2025 before making their red-carpet debut at a BAFTA Television event in April of the same year.  Now, Coughlan’s latest comments show a softer side of their relationship. Her admission that she “can’t complain” about having Dunn by her side in Malta suggests that their romance is built around making the most of the limited time they have together. With The Magic Faraway Tree arriving in cinemas on August 21, Coughlan is entering another busy chapter professionally. But if her latest comments are any indication, she has found a simple way to make the journey more enjoyable: having someone she loves close by.

Oil prices rise as US-Iran uncertainty and shipping attacks raise supply concerns

BEIJING: Global oil prices advanced on Wednesday as uncertainty surrounding a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran, coupled with attacks on commercial shipping in key Middle Eastern waterways, heightened concerns about disruptions to crude supplies. At 0553 GMT, Brent crude futures had gained 75 cents, or 0.84%, to reach $89.66 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 72 cents, or 0.87%, to $83.92 a barrel. Both benchmarks had climbed by more than $1 earlier in the session. The latest gains followed a strong rally on Tuesday, when both Brent and WTI settled more than $1 higher, reaching their highest closing levels since July 31. Oil prices had already surged around 5% on Monday as market participants became increasingly sceptical about the prospects of a US-Iran agreement to end the conflict. Concerns intensified after US President Donald Trump issued a fresh demand that Iran compensate people killed in wars, attacks and protests. Market analysts said the latest developments have left energy markets highly sensitive to changes in the US-Iran narrative. “The Middle East is increasingly becoming a seesaw between ‘deal’ and ‘war’,” said Priyanka Sachdeva, head of market insights at Phillip Nova in Singapore, describing the resulting price swings as a pendulum moving between roughly $70 and $90 a barrel. Shipping Disruptions Add to Market Pressure Concerns over the safety of crude shipments were also reinforced after the United States and Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis reported separate attacks involving shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy transit routes, making any prolonged disruption there a major concern for global oil markets. Iranian security official Mohsen Rezaei said the strategic waterway would remain closed unless Washington accepted Tehran’s conditions for ending the conflict. Those demands reportedly include the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to other regional conflicts. Trump, meanwhile, has continued to send mixed signals about the US response, alternating between warnings of a tougher military approach and suggestions that an agreement could still be reached. The uncertainty has contributed to sharp swings in crude prices as traders attempt to assess whether the conflict will escalate or move towards negotiations. Sachdeva said markets could increasingly become accustomed to the frequent changes in the geopolitical narrative, creating a highly volatile environment for short-term traders and speculators. Hormuz Traffic Falls Sharply Shipping data highlighted the scale of the disruption. The number of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to only eight on Tuesday, according to shipping data cited in market reports. That compares with an estimated 125 to 140 vessels a day before the conflict, underscoring the extent to which security concerns have affected maritime traffic through the strategic waterway. A sustained reduction in shipping through Hormuz could have significant implications for global energy markets because the route handles a substantial share of international oil shipments. US Crude Inventories in Focus Despite geopolitical concerns, developments in the United States provided a counterweight to the bullish sentiment. A Reuters poll released on Tuesday had indicated that US crude and fuel inventories were expected to decline during the week ended August 7. However, market sources citing data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a substantial increase in US crude stocks. According to the sources, US crude inventories increased by approximately 9.1 million barrels last week. Gasoline stocks declined by around 1.5 million barrels, while distillate inventories fell by approximately 596,000 barrels. The reported crude build was considerably larger than market expectations. If confirmed by official figures, the increase could ease concerns over tightness in the US oil market and potentially limit further price gains. Haitong Futures said in a market note that the unexpectedly large increase in crude inventories could reduce some of the supply-related pressure currently supporting oil prices. EIA Data Awaited Investors are now awaiting official inventory figures from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy. The EIA’s weekly petroleum report is scheduled for release at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time (1430 GMT) on Wednesday. Market participants will closely examine the data for signs of changes in crude production, refinery activity, gasoline demand and commercial inventories. Any significant deviation from the API figures could trigger additional volatility in oil prices. Longer-Term Supply Risks Remain Beyond the immediate market reaction, longer-term concerns over Middle Eastern supply disruptions continue to provide support to crude prices. The EIA has estimated that disruptions to Middle Eastern crude supplies could amount to approximately 600,000 barrels per day and persist through the end of 2027. With geopolitical tensions still unresolved and shipping activity through major regional waterways significantly reduced, traders are expected to remain highly sensitive to developments involving the United States, Iran and regional armed groups.

Lala Rukh predicts Rajab Butt’s second marriage soon

Rajab Butt is once again at the centre of social media attention after astrologer Lala Rukh made a surprising prediction about his personal life. The popular YouTuber is among Pakistan’s most followed digital creators and frequently makes headlines because of his controversies, public disputes and ongoing marital issues. Rajab has been facing considerable speculation surrounding his relationship with his wife, Emaan Fatima. Although the couple are still legally married, questions about their relationship and the possibility of a second marriage have continued to circulate online. The subject has now gained renewed attention following a prediction made by Lala Rukh. The astrologer recently shared a series of predictions in which she reportedly claimed that Rajab Butt could have a future connection with the Sistrology family. Her comments quickly caught the attention of social media users because of the unexpected nature of the prediction. Sistrology is a well-known YouTube family made up of sisters who have built a strong following through their lifestyle and family-oriented vlogs. Over the years, the sisters have become familiar faces within Pakistan’s digital creator community and have collaborated or appeared alongside several prominent influencers. The group is also known to have close connections with other popular social media personalities, including Ducky Bhai and Aroob Jatoi. Their frequent appearances with major names from Pakistan’s influencer community have helped them maintain a strong presence on social media. According to Lala Rukh’s latest prediction, there could be a union between the Rajab Butt family and the Sistrology family. She reportedly suggested that Rajab’s second marriage could take place within the Sistrology family, sparking widespread curiosity among viewers. The prediction is particularly notable because Lala Rukh had previously made claims about Rajab’s marriage to Emaan Fatima. She had reportedly predicted that the couple would eventually separate, while discussions surrounding their relationship have since moved towards legal proceedings. Following the latest prediction, social media users were quick to share their reactions. Many appeared surprised by the possibility, while others questioned whether the astrologer’s prediction would eventually prove accurate. One social media user commented that the Sistrology sisters “have high standards,” while another responded with the phrase “Dhur Fitay Moo.” Others took a more neutral approach and suggested waiting to see whether the prediction actually comes true. For now, Lala Rukh’s claim remains only a prediction, and there has been no confirmation from Rajab Butt or anyone from the Sistrology family regarding the possibility of such a relationship or marriage. Nevertheless, the statement has once again placed Rajab’s personal life in the spotlight and generated considerable discussion across social media. As speculation continues, fans will likely be watching closely for any response from Rajab, Emaan or the Sistrology family. Until then, the prediction remains unverified and should be treated as speculation rather than a confirmed development.
