Ukraine claims strike on Russian weapons factory a…

Ukraine has claimed responsibility for a series of long-range strikes targeting key Russian military infrastructure, including a weapons components factory, a warship, and a cargo vessel allegedly linked to the transportation of Iranian military equipment. The announcement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said the operations were part of Kyiv’s continued efforts to weaken Russia’s military capabilities. In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Zelensky said Ukrainian forces carried out precision strikes overnight against facilities that support Russia’s ongoing military campaign. He described the attacks as a response to continued Russian assaults on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. According to the Ukrainian president, one of the primary targets was a factory in Russia’s Kirov region that manufactures components used in weapons deployed against Ukraine. Zelensky noted that the facility is located approximately 1,200 kilometers (745 miles) from the Ukrainian border, highlighting the growing range of Ukraine’s strike capabilities. Ukraine also claimed to have targeted an oil refinery in Tyumen, a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, and a fuel and supply depot in Rostov-on-Don. These locations are considered strategically important for supporting Russian military operations and logistics. In addition to the strikes inside Russia, Zelensky said Ukrainian forces achieved significant results in the Caspian Sea. He claimed that a Russian warship and vessels allegedly involved in transporting Iranian military-related cargo were also targeted during the operation. Ukraine has not released further details regarding the extent of the damage. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that one of its commercial ships was hit in the Caspian Sea and strongly condemned the incident. Iranian officials said the attack caused an explosion aboard the vessel, killing one civilian and injuring another. Tehran described the strike as an act of aggression and accused Ukraine of attempting to broaden the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Iran also stated that it would safeguard its national interests and security while condemning any attacks on its civilian maritime assets. The incident has added another layer of tension to an already complex regional situation involving Russia, Ukraine, and Iran. The claims made by Ukraine and Iran have not been independently verified, and Russian authorities have not issued a detailed public response regarding the reported strikes. As the conflict continues, long-range attacks on military and logistical targets remain a significant feature of the ongoing war, reflecting the evolving nature of the battlefield and the growing strategic reach of both sides.

Sherry Rehman flags polling delays, security lapse…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman has voiced concern over delays in polling at several constituencies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), saying the disruption has caused significant hardship for voters and raised serious questions about election management. In a statement issued on Sunday, Rehman said delayed arrival of election staff had affected the voting process at a number of polling stations, preventing many voters from casting their ballots on time. She identified constituencies LA-28, LA-31, LA-25 and LA-34 among the areas where polling was reportedly delayed, calling on the Election Commission to immediately investigate the matter and ensure that the electoral process proceeds without further disruption. The PPP leader also expressed concern over security arrangements at a women’s polling station in Shark Kamal Bandi in LA-31, claiming that only one police officer had been deployed despite the polling station having previously been declared sensitive. According to Rehman, inadequate security at such locations could undermine voter confidence and create unnecessary challenges for women participating in the electoral process. She further highlighted transportation problems affecting voters in the region. Rehman said the road connecting Rangla to Katkair had remained blocked since Saturday night, leaving more than 50 vehicles carrying voters stranded and preventing many people from reaching their designated polling stations. The senator said these issues had been formally reported to the Election Commission, urging the electoral body to conduct an immediate inquiry into the reported irregularities and take prompt corrective measures wherever necessary. “Every voter must be given the opportunity to exercise their democratic right without obstacles,” she said, emphasizing that transparent, impartial and well-managed elections are essential for strengthening democratic institutions. Rehman maintained that any compromise on the sanctity of the vote would be unacceptable and stressed the need for election authorities to ensure equal access to polling facilities for all eligible voters. Her remarks come amid ongoing polling across Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where election authorities have been working to address logistical and weather-related challenges in some areas. The Election Commission has yet to issue a detailed response to the specific concerns raised by the PPP senator, while voting continues in constituencies where polling arrangements remain unaffected.

Ariana Grande details future plans after announcin…

Ariana Grande is preparing to take a well-earned break from the spotlight after years of nonstop work. The Grammy-winning singer recently confirmed that she plans to step away from public life following the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, choosing to prioritize rest, personal time, and the people who matter most to her. According to reports, Grande intends to spend much of her hiatus with family, close friends, and boyfriend Ricky Alvarez as she embraces a quieter chapter of her life.  An insider told Page Six that the singer is looking forward to slowing down after an incredibly busy period. “She’ll be spending a lot of time with her family, friends, and Ricky,” the source revealed, adding that Grande wants to recharge away from the constant demands of the entertainment industry. The couple reportedly plan to keep things low-key while enjoying quality time together.  Grande first addressed her decision during an emotional speech at a concert in Chicago. Speaking directly to fans, she explained that the hiatus was not a sudden reaction to recent headlines or online criticism. Instead, she said it had been carefully planned long before and reflected her desire to establish healthier personal boundaries after years of intense work.  The singer emphasized that taking a break does not mean she is walking away from music forever. She reassured fans that she still loves performing and creating art, describing her recent tour as one of the most meaningful experiences of her career. However, she also acknowledged that rest is essential and that setting boundaries is an important part of maintaining both personal happiness and creative inspiration.  Grande’s decision follows one of the busiest stretches of her professional life. In recent years, she completed work on both Wicked films, released the albums Eternal Sunshine and Petal, filmed the upcoming comedy Focker-in-Law, and embarked on a major international tour. She also recently stepped away from the planned West End production of Sunday in the Park with George, reinforcing her commitment to slowing down.  Sources close to the singer say her support system has encouraged her decision. Family members and close friends reportedly believe this period of rest will allow Grande to focus on herself after years of balancing demanding schedules and intense public attention. Ricky Alvarez, with whom she has recently rekindled a relationship, is also said to be a steady source of encouragement during this new chapter.  Although fans may miss seeing Grande constantly in the spotlight, many have applauded her decision to put her well-being first. The singer has repeatedly spoken about the importance of protecting her peace and recognizing when it is time to step back. For now, Ariana Grande’s future plans are refreshingly simple: spend time with loved ones, enjoy life away from cameras, and return only when she feels ready. It is a reminder that even one of the world’s biggest pop stars understands the value of slowing down and making space for the people who matter most.
