Prince Harry faces financial ‘Armageddon’ after court defeat

Prince Harry is once again facing sharp criticism from royal commentators. The backlash follows his defeat in a High Court privacy case against Associated Newspapers on July 7.

Royal broadcaster Neil Sean weighed in on the mounting pressure surrounding the Duke of Sussex. He suggested much of the current turmoil is self-inflicted, pointing out that Harry has effectively made his struggles public for the world to see.

Sean went further, describing Harry as someone visibly on edge right now. He questioned whether the prince’s current mindset appeared healthy given everything unfolding around him.

According to Sean, the court defeat has left Harry navigating a genuinely difficult situation largely on his own. He suggested the fallout from the case has affected Harry far more deeply than he’d likely admit publicly.

Sean noted that this marks unfamiliar territory for Harry, who has typically had support systems, like a private secretary, to help manage this kind of crisis. He said the experience of realising not everything he touches turns out successfully has clearly been difficult for him to process.

Beyond the reputational damage, financial concerns are also mounting. Commentator Mark Dolan did not hold back, describing the situation as a full-blown financial disaster for the prince.

Dolan estimated Harry could be facing costs anywhere between $10 million and $20 million as a result of the case. He said even a conservative estimate of $10 million would essentially wipe out all the money Harry earned from his memoir, “Spare.”

Dolan raised pointed questions about whether Harry actually has the funds to cover those costs. He also wondered how Meghan Markle might be reacting to the situation, and what Harry’s next move could realistically look like.

According to Dolan, the scale of the financial fallout makes this a defining moment for Harry, describing it as an existential crisis for the prince. With both reputational and financial pressures mounting simultaneously, commentators suggest this latest setback could prove especially difficult for Harry to recover from.

UAE resumes visit visas for Pakistanis

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has resumed issuing visit visas to Pakistani citizens applying through registered travel agents, ending months of uncertainty for travelers and offering fresh hope to families, tourists and business visitors. The move has been confirmed by travel industry representatives and a UAE Embassy official, who said visit visas for holders of ordinary Pakistani passports are once again being processed through authorized travel agencies. The resumption comes after months of delays, stricter scrutiny and a higher rejection rate that had created difficulties for thousands of Pakistani applicants. Although UAE authorities repeatedly maintained that no blanket ban had been imposed on Pakistani nationals, many travelers experienced lengthy processing times and uncertainty over visa approvals. Travel experts say the biggest improvement has been seen in family applications. Pakistani citizens traveling with family members or visiting relatives in the UAE are reportedly receiving faster responses than before, reflecting a more streamlined processing system. Officials from the travel industry also noted that tourism-related bookings have started to recover as confidence returns. Passenger traffic between Pakistan and Dubai, which had dropped significantly during recent regional tensions and stricter visa checks, has begun to increase in recent weeks, although it remains below previous peak levels. Applicants seeking a UAE visit visa are advised to apply only through registered travel agents and ensure all required documents are complete. A valid passport, recent photographs, proof of accommodation or an invitation from a host, return travel arrangements and evidence of sufficient financial resources are among the documents generally required for processing. Industry representatives believe applicants with complete and genuine documentation are more likely to receive approvals, while family applications currently appear to have stronger prospects.

SpaceX revenue nearly doubles in first earnings report

SpaceX has released its first earnings report since becoming a publicly traded company. Revenue nearly doubled over the past year, even as artificial intelligence spending surged sharply. Despite beating analyst forecasts on both revenue and earnings, the company’s stock slipped in after-hours trading. Investors appeared more focused on rising costs than on the strong topline numbers. The company reported $7.8 billion in revenue for the second quarter. That marked a 92% jump compared to the same period last year. Net losses narrowed significantly to $541 million, down from $1 billion a year earlier. SpaceX began trading on the US stock market back in June. Starlink, the company’s satellite internet division, remained the only profitable business unit. It generated $1.6 billion in revenue during the quarter. Elon Musk told analysts on the earnings call that people were underestimating the company. He pointed directly to Starlink’s rapid growth as proof. Musk suggested Starlink could eventually power a large share of global internet access. Meanwhile, the company’s AI computing division posted a $1.2 billion loss on $2.5 billion in sales. The core space business also posted a loss, at $542 million on $962 million in sales. Musk said SpaceX currently runs 1.4 gigawatts of AI computing capacity. He added that this figure is expected to hit 10 gigawatts within the next year. Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnson said capital spending would stay steady for the rest of the year. Industry voices offered mixed reactions to the results. Carré Partners CEO Wendy Souvannarath noted that heavy AI investment has become the norm across tech firms. Analyst Brady Wang praised Starlink’s strong subscriber growth as a genuine bright spot. However, IG analyst Fabien Yip pushed back on Musk’s framing. He said it was a stretch to call the company underestimated while its AI division kept losing money.

Will Jacks stuns fans with incredible one-handed catch

LONDON: England all-rounder Will Jacks produced a moment of breathtaking athleticism during The Hundred 2026, pulling off an extraordinary catch that left spectators and commentators stunned at Lord’s. The remarkable effort came during the clash between London Spirit and MI London, when South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius launched a powerful shot towards long-off. Pretorius, who had just brought up his half-century, appeared to have found the boundary with the lofted strike. But Jacks had other plans. Standing close to the boundary, Jacks timed his jump perfectly and managed to prevent the ball from clearing the ropes. With incredible awareness, he knocked the ball back into play while making sure his feet did not touch the boundary line. What happened next turned an already impressive piece of fielding into something extraordinary. Jacks quickly returned into the field, threw himself into a full-length dive and completed the catch with one hand. The entire sequence happened in a matter of seconds, leaving both the crowd and commentators struggling to believe what they had witnessed. The stunning effort quickly became one of the talking points of the match, with video footage spreading rapidly across social media. Fans praised Jacks for combining athleticism, awareness and remarkable hand-eye coordination in a single piece of fielding. Boundary catches are often difficult enough because players must balance their movements while keeping their feet away from the rope. Jacks’ effort was even more impressive because he first had to save the ball from going for six before returning to complete the catch. Commentators hailed the effort as an unbelievable catch, while fans began sharing replays of the moment online. The spectacular dismissal provided another reminder of the increasingly athletic standard of modern short-format cricket, where a single moment of brilliance in the field can change the momentum of a game. For Jacks, however, the catch was more than just a highlight. It was a stunning display of awareness, agility and courage — and one that could easily go down as one of The Hundred’s standout fielding moments of the season.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day wins over fans

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received an enthusiastic response from audiences, with many fans describing it as Tom Holland’s strongest performance yet as the iconic Marvel superhero. The latest installment follows Peter Parker as he struggles to rebuild his life after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world forgot his identity. Instead of focusing on multiverse storylines, the new film takes a more personal approach, exploring Parker’s emotional journey while he continues protecting New York City. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film reunites Tom Holland with his wife and co-star Zendaya, who reprises her role as MJ. The movie also features the return of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, marking the character’s first appearance in a Marvel Cinematic Universe feature film. Actress Sadie Sink also joins the franchise in a role that has been kept under wraps. Critics have largely praised the film for its emotional storytelling, stronger character development and balanced action sequences. Many reviewers believe the decision to shift away from complex multiverse plots has given the story greater depth and allowed the characters to take centre stage. Cinema audiences have echoed those views, with many calling the film Holland’s finest outing as Spider-Man. Fans praised his more mature portrayal of Peter Parker and highlighted the emotional chemistry between Holland and Zendaya as one of the movie’s biggest strengths. Long-time Spider-Man fans also appreciated the film’s closer connection to the original comic books, while others said the emotional moments between Peter Parker and his closest friends were more memorable than the action scenes. The movie has opened to packed cinemas and is expected to become one of Marvel’s biggest box-office successes this year. Industry analysts believe it could continue the strong commercial performance of Holland’s previous Spider-Man films, which have collectively earned billions of dollars worldwide. Speculation has also grown about the future of the franchise. Tom Holland has hinted that Marvel has long-term plans for Spider-Man and suggested the story could eventually introduce a new generation of heroes. Meanwhile, Zendaya has previously indicated that she plans to take a break from acting after completing her current film commitments later this year. With strong reviews, positive audience reactions and impressive early box-office momentum, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has strengthened its position as one of the year’s most successful superhero releases.
