Putin hails Pakistan on 79th Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended warm greetings to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

In his message, Putin congratulated the Pakistani leadership and people on the national occasion and conveyed his wishes for peace, prosperity and continued progress for Pakistan.

The Russian president said relations between Russia and Pakistan were developing successfully. He noted that the two countries were steadily expanding cooperation across several areas.

Putin said Moscow and Islamabad maintained productive ties in political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields. He also highlighted their cooperation on important regional and international issues.

According to the Russian president, continued engagement between the two countries is important for promoting stability in the region. He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to grow in the years ahead.

Putin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to further strengthening the partnership with Pakistan across all areas of mutual interest. He said continued cooperation would serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

The Russian leader also expressed hope that the two countries would maintain constructive joint efforts to deepen their relationship and contribute to greater regional and international stability.

The message comes as Pakistan marks its 79th Independence Day, with countries across the world extending greetings and reaffirming their ties with Islamabad.

Weather officials said moderate El Nino conditions are currently present in the Pacific Ocean and are expected to strengthen in the coming weeks. The phenomenon could become strong by September, increasing the likelihood of reduced rainfall across parts of India and other areas of Southeast Asia. El Nino is a recurring climate pattern caused by warmer than normal sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean. However, analysts warn that below normal rainfall during August could still affect the development of crops that have recently been planted. Adequate rainfall during this stage of the growing season is considered essential for healthy crop growth and stable harvests. Government data shows that summer crop planting was nearly 25 percent lower than the previous year at the end of June. Since then, the situation has improved considerably, with the shortfall shrinking to less than five percent as better rainfall encouraged farmers to increase sowing.     BTS star V reveals two-year hearing loss struggle

The jail administration subsequently handed all eight books over to the PTI founder. However, Khan returned four of the books to the jail authorities. He reportedly told officials that he had already read those books. The remaining books were kept with him after being delivered by the prison administration. The development comes after the Islamabad High Court issued directions regarding access to reading material for the former prime minister. The jail authorities confirmed that the court’s instructions regarding the books had been followed. Officials did not provide further details about the titles of the books that were delivered or returned. The provision of books gives Khan access to additional reading material during his time in prison.
