Shahzeb Khanzada’s stance for women applauded by celebrities

Shahzeb Khanzada is one of Pakistan’s most prominent television anchors and journalists. He hosts his current affairs show every night, where he regularly discusses important national issues and highlights matters affecting ordinary citizens. Over the years, he has also become known for speaking openly about social injustices and calling attention to issues that often fail to receive the attention they deserve.

At a time when concerns about violence, abuse and public safety are growing across the country, Khanzada recently used his platform to speak strongly against violence targeting women and children. His remarks came amid widespread public concern over a number of disturbing cases that have emerged in recent weeks, once again raising questions about the safety of vulnerable members of society.

Khanzada strongly condemned violence against women and emphasized the responsibility of individuals and society to stand against such acts. He made it clear that remaining silent after becoming aware of violence against a woman cannot simply be treated as neutrality. According to his stance, people who know that a woman is being subjected to brutality but deliberately choose not to speak up also carry a moral responsibility for allowing such violence to continue.

His comments struck a chord with many viewers and public figures. Several celebrities took to social media to appreciate the journalist for using his influential platform to address an issue that requires collective attention. They praised him for refusing to remain silent and for highlighting the importance of protecting women from violence and abuse.

Actress Ayesha Omar was among those who appreciated Khanzada’s efforts. She thanked him for consistently speaking up on important social matters and acknowledged his willingness to address difficult subjects publicly. Her response reflected the sentiments of many people who believe that influential personalities have an important role to play in raising awareness about serious social problems.

Politician and public figure Mussadiq Malek also expressed his support for Khanzada. He urged people to protect and stand behind individuals who use their platforms to speak against injustice. His comments further highlighted the importance of supporting voices that draw public attention to violence and social issues.

Actress Samiya Mumtaz also praised Khanzada for raising his voice. She thanked him for speaking about the issue and joining the conversation surrounding violence against women.

The reactions from these well-known personalities demonstrate how strongly Khanzada’s message resonated with people from different backgrounds. His comments have also sparked further discussion about the responsibility of media figures, celebrities and ordinary citizens in confronting violence.

Cases involving women and children have repeatedly generated anger and concern across Pakistan, with social media often becoming a platform where people demand justice and accountability. However, public outrage alone cannot address the deeper problems behind such incidents. Greater awareness, responsible reporting, stronger legal protection and a willingness to intervene when someone is at risk are all important parts of creating a safer society.

Khanzada’s stance has therefore received appreciation not only because he discussed a sensitive issue on television, but also because he emphasized the importance of refusing to normalize silence around violence. The support from celebrities such as Ayesha Omar, Mussadiq Malek and Samiya Mumtaz shows that his message has found an audience beyond his regular viewers.

As conversations surrounding women’s safety and violence continue, Khanzada’s remarks have added another prominent voice to the growing demand for greater accountability and protection. His decision to use his platform for the issue has been widely appreciated by those who believe that speaking against injustice is an important responsibility of public figures.

Sindh forms third medical board for exhumation of …

The Sindh government has constituted a third medical board to carry out the exhumation and medico-legal examination of 25-year-old businessman Mir Ali Raza’s body, following controversy over the findings of his initial post-mortem report. The new eight-member medical board was notified by the Sindh Health Department on Friday after two earlier notifications were withdrawn. The exhumation, which was initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed after the deceased’s family raised objections over the sudden changes in the medical board. According to the latest notification, Police Surgeon Dr Sumaiyya Syed has been appointed as the convener of the board, while Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Pathology Department Head Professor Dr Naseem Ahmed will serve as the pathologist. Other members of the board include forensic expert Dr Farah Waseem from Jinnah Sindh Medical University, forensic identification expert Amir Hassan Khan, Additional Police Surgeon Dr Srichand, and medico-legal officers from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), including Dr Kamran Khan and Dr Daniyal Mirza. The board has also been authorized to include additional experts if required. The exhumation has been scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at 11am, according to the Office of the Police Surgeon. A civil judge and judicial magistrate Karachi-XXI will also be present during the procedure. The decision to exhume Mir Ali Raza’s body came after his father approached the court seeking further investigation. A Karachi court allowed the exhumation and directed authorities to form a medico-legal board to examine the circumstances surrounding his death. The case gained attention after concerns were raised regarding possible inconsistencies in the original autopsy report. Karachi Police Surgeon Dr Sumaiyya Syed had pointed out that certain observations in the post-mortem report appeared inconsistent with available photographs, including questions regarding the bullet entry and exit wounds. She stated that the reported bullet trajectory and wounds required further examination and noted that gunshot residue testing, which can be relevant in suspected suicide cases, had not been conducted. Police officials responded by saying that such comments could affect the ongoing investigation but acknowledged that exhumation could provide further clarification through a committee of medical experts with court approval. Mir Ali Raza, the owner of food outlet Wafflix, went missing on July 28. His body was discovered the following day near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-e-Jauhar with a gunshot wound. Initially, a kidnapping case was registered at Ferozabad Police Station on his father’s complaint. Police said their investigation indicated that Ali had been facing financial difficulties and had contacted friends for financial assistance before his death. Investigators said he left his home in PECHS Block-2 and traveled by a ride-hailing taxi, which dropped him near the location where his body was later found. The latest medical board is expected to examine the remains and provide further forensic findings that may help clarify the circumstances surrounding Mir Ali Raza’s death.

Man climbs electricity pole in Peshawar to steal P…

A man climbed an electricity pole in Peshawar in an alleged attempt to steal power cables, according to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO). The unusual incident took place in the Shahibagh Sub-Division area, where electricity supply had already been suspended because maintenance work was underway. According to PESCO officials, the man climbed onto the pole while power was switched off in the area. The incident reportedly occurred during a period when electricity lines were not operational due to repair and maintenance work being carried out by the power distribution company. PESCO said that the man appeared to have taken advantage of the temporary suspension of electricity supply. He reportedly climbed the pole with the intention of removing electrical wires. The incident was noticed by people in the area, who alerted the relevant authorities. Officials reached the location and took action to prevent the situation from becoming more serious. The man was eventually brought down safely from the electricity pole. The incident occurred in the Shahibagh Sub-Division, an area served by PESCO as part of its electricity distribution network in Peshawar. Authorities said that the power supply had been deliberately shut down because repair work was being conducted on the network. The temporary power outage may have created an opportunity for the suspect to attempt the alleged theft. Electricity cables and other equipment belonging to power distribution companies are frequently targeted by thieves because the materials can be sold as scrap or for their metal value. However, climbing an electricity pole can be extremely dangerous even when the power supply has been switched off. Electrical systems can contain residual risks, and unexpected restoration of electricity can also create a serious threat to anyone working on or near power lines. PESCO officials did not immediately provide further details about whether the man had successfully removed any cables before being stopped. It was also not immediately clear whether a formal case had been registered against him or what legal action would be taken. The incident highlights the challenges faced by electricity distribution companies in protecting their infrastructure from theft and illegal interference. Power cables, transformers and other equipment are essential for maintaining electricity supplies, and their theft can cause additional outages and financial losses. Authorities regularly warn members of the public against approaching electricity poles, wires and other electrical equipment without proper training or authorisation. Such actions can result in serious injuries or even death. Residents in the area reportedly alerted officials after noticing the man on the pole. His safe removal prevented a potentially dangerous situation from escalating. PESCO has been carrying out maintenance and repair activities in different parts of its service area to improve the reliability of electricity supplies. Planned outages are sometimes necessary to allow technical teams to safely work on power lines and related infrastructure. Officials have advised consumers to cooperate with maintenance schedules and report suspicious activity involving electricity infrastructure to the relevant authorities. The Peshawar incident serves as a reminder that electricity infrastructure remains vulnerable to theft, particularly during planned outages. It also demonstrates the dangers associated with attempting to interfere with electrical equipment. While the man was successfully brought down from the pole, authorities are expected to investigate the incident further and determine whether he intended to steal cables and whether any electricity infrastructure was damaged during the attempt.

Maira Khan’s bold social media transformation sparks debate

Maira Khan is a familiar name in the Pakistani television industry, having appeared in several popular dramas throughout her acting career. She has been part of projects such as Riwaaj, Kisey Awaaz Doon, Cousins, Jalan, Cheekh, and Bewafa, among others. Her performances helped her establish a presence in the entertainment industry, while her appearance on ARY Digital’s reality show Tamasha recently brought her renewed attention from viewers. Apart from television, Maira Khan has also worked in the feature film Durj, a project that received critical appreciation. Over the years, she has remained a subject of public interest, particularly because of her changing appearance, fashion choices, and occasional discussions surrounding cosmetic procedures and her evolving personal style. In recent years, however, Maira has largely stepped away from the Pakistani drama scene. Instead of appearing regularly on television, she is now frequently seen travelling with friends and sharing glimpses of her lifestyle on social media. Her Instagram presence has also become more noticeable, with the former actress posting photographs and reels showcasing her fashion choices and travels. Her recent posts have attracted particular attention because of her preference for Western-style outfits and a more confident approach to fashion. Some of her latest pictures feature outfits that are considerably bolder than the image audiences may remember from her television career. Her transformation has sparked a wide range of reactions across social media, with some people praising her confidence while others have criticised her new appearance. Several social media users have speculated about the reason behind her change in lifestyle and fashion. Some suggested that her reduced presence in Pakistani television dramas may have influenced her decision to pursue a different lifestyle, while others argued that her clothing choices are simply a matter of personal preference. The discussion also took an unexpected turn, with some users questioning her religious identity and making assumptions about her beliefs based on her appearance. Such comments generated further debate, as many people pointed out that a person’s faith cannot be determined simply by their clothing or social media posts. Some critics expressed disappointment over what they described as a shift from her earlier, more modest public image. One commenter said that Pakistani actresses appear to be becoming increasingly bold and prayed for them to receive guidance. Another user wrote that Maira had appeared much more decent in the past. Others shared reminders about morality and the temporary nature of worldly life. At the same time, her supporters believe that Maira has the right to make her own choices regarding fashion, lifestyle, and social media presence. The contrasting reactions demonstrate how strongly Pakistani celebrities continue to be scrutinised for their personal choices, particularly when they adopt a style that differs from their earlier public image.

Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from Cincinnati Masters with wrest injury

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz has officially withdrawn from the Cincinnati Masters as he continues to recover from a wrist injury that has kept him off the ATP Tour since April, casting fresh doubt over his participation in this month’s US Open. Tournament organizers confirmed on Tuesday that the Spanish superstar will not defend his Cincinnati title, citing an “ongoing wrist injury.” The ATP Masters 1000 event, scheduled to begin on August 13, is regarded as the final major warm-up tournament before the US Open. Tournament director Bob Moran expressed support for the 23-year-old, saying everyone at Cincinnati hopes to see him back on court soon. “We know Carlos is doing everything he can to get back to playing tournaments as soon as possible. We wish him the best with his recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to Cincinnati in the future,” Moran said in an official statement. The withdrawal has intensified speculation surrounding Alcaraz’s fitness ahead of the US Open, which begins on August 30 in New York. As the defending champion, his absence from Cincinnati leaves him with little opportunity to regain competitive rhythm before the year’s final Grand Slam. Alcaraz has not played a competitive match since suffering a wrist injury during the opening round of the Barcelona Open in April. Since then, he has withdrawn from several high-profile tournaments, including the Madrid Open, Italian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and now Cincinnati. When announcing his decision to miss Roland Garros earlier this year, Alcaraz described it as “the most prudent” choice after discussions with his team. Although his rehabilitation has reportedly progressed well, the Spaniard has repeatedly stressed that he would only return when fully fit. His absence from Wimbledon proved particularly significant, as world No. 1 Jannik Sinner successfully defended his title by defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the final. Despite his lengthy spell on the sidelines, Alcaraz enjoyed a remarkable start to 2026. He completed the career Grand Slam by winning the Australian Open in January, becoming the youngest men’s player to achieve the feat. He followed that historic triumph with another title in Doha in February, taking his Grand Slam tally to seven. With the countdown to Flushing Meadows underway, tennis fans will now be anxiously waiting for an official update on whether one of the sport’s biggest stars will be fit in time to defend his US Open crown.
