Sophie Turner reveals what America had that she ca…

Sophie Turner may have found her way back home, but there is one thing about America that the actress admits she still misses: the sun.

The Game of Thrones star recently opened up about her experience living in the United States and returning to England after several years abroad. While Turner says she is much happier being back in her home country, she revealed that she occasionally misses the bright sunshine she enjoyed while living in America. (E! Online)

Turner is happy to be home

Turner spent several years living in the U.S. during her marriage to Joe Jonas. The couple married in 2019 and spent time living in Los Angeles and Miami before their relationship ended in 2023.

Following their split, Turner returned to London with their two daughters, Willa and Delphine. The move brought her closer to her roots and the people and places she grew up around. (People.com)

In her latest interview with The Sunday Morning Herald, Turner made it clear that she does not particularly miss American life. When asked whether she missed living there, she gave a simple answer: she misses the sun, “but that’s it.” (Female First)

Why England feels different

Although sunshine may be harder to find consistently in the UK, Turner has discovered plenty of things she values about being back home.

The actress has previously spoken about missing British humor, familiar comfort foods and, especially, being close to her childhood friends and family. She has also praised British pub culture and the sense of community surrounding it. (People.com)

For Turner, returning to England appears to have been about more than simply changing countries. After spending important years of her adult life in America, being home has allowed her to reconnect with the environment and people who shaped her early years.

A new chapter in London

Turner has also continued building her acting career while living in the UK. Her return comes as she enters a new professional chapter, including her highly anticipated role as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series.

While America provided Turner with years of memories and plenty of sunshine, her latest comments suggest that England feels more like home. The cloudy British weather may not always be her favorite, but everything else about being back seems to make up for it.

For Turner, there is apparently only one thing America has that she truly wishes she could bring back with her: more sunshine.

The State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) foreign exchange reserves fell by $229 million in the week ending July 24, 2026, to $17.03 billion, mainly due to external debt repayments. Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $22.4 billion during the week. The SBP held $17.03 billion, while commercial banks maintained net reserves of around $5.4 billion. Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee edged up against the US dollar, closing at Rs277.81 in the interbank market on Thursday compared with Rs277.82 a day earlier. The dollar remained stable in early Asian trading after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. Gold prices in Pakistan also increased, following gains in international markets. Internationally, spot gold gained 0.8% to $4,098.98 per ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery rose 1.4% to $4,097.70. The Federal Reserve maintained its current interest rates on Wednesday, while softer US inflation data reduced market expectations of a rate hike in September. Analysts, however, warned that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could put renewed pressure on inflation. Silver prices moved lower in the domestic market, declining by Rs76 to Rs6,215 per tola. Interactive Commodities Director Adnan Agar said the gold market remained range-bound. Bullion traded between $4,028 and $4,120 before settling near $4,107, which he described as a “danger zone.”

A previously recorded video of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has surfaced, offering a rare glimpse of the country’s new leader as speculation continues over his health. The footage, released by Iranian media, shows Khamenei attending an academic session and reviewing a student’s research paper on the “Islamic security model.” He is heard speaking publicly in the video for what is described as the first time since assuming the leadership, and he praises the research as flawless. The release comes amid unverified reports that Khamenei was seriously injured during military strikes that resulted in the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian state media has sought to counter the reports by broadcasting the footage, although the exact date when it was recorded remains unclear. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also rejected claims about the supreme leader’s deteriorating health, describing him as “absolutely healthy.” Since taking office, the 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei has largely stayed away from public appearances, communicating mainly through written statements and official channels. His limited visibility has continued to fuel questions about his health and whereabouts.
