US embassy alerts citizens over worsening security…

The United States has issued a fresh security advisory for its citizens across the Middle East, urging them to remain vigilant and be prepared for possible evacuation as regional tensions continue to rise. The warning comes amid growing concerns over the security situation, with US officials cautioning that conditions could deteriorate without notice.

Through its embassies in Israel, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, the US government advised American citizens to consider leaving the region if it is safe to do so or to be ready for immediate departure should the security environment worsen.

According to the advisory, the current instability has increased the risk of unexpected security incidents, flight disruptions, and temporary airspace closures. Travelers were warned to expect airline cancellations, delays, and changes to flight schedules, and to remain informed through official sources and their airlines before making travel plans.

The US Embassy in Oman noted that several airlines have delayed the resumption of scheduled services, while others have canceled flights on specific routes due to the evolving regional situation. Americans in the region were encouraged to review their travel plans and prepare for rapid evacuation if circumstances require.

The advisory also urged US citizens outside the Middle East to carefully reconsider any plans to travel to the region or transit through it. Travelers were advised to monitor the latest airport and airline updates before departure and remain aware of changing security conditions.

US officials warned that American diplomatic facilities, businesses, and other interests have previously been targeted during periods of heightened regional tension. The statement added that threats to US interests could extend beyond the Middle East and emphasized that areas previously considered safe may also face increased risks.

The US Embassy in Jordan specifically advised American citizens to avoid visiting military installations and to stay informed through local government alerts, including emergency sirens and public safety announcements. Citizens were encouraged to follow instructions from local authorities and regularly check updates from the US Embassy.

As part of the advisory, Americans were also instructed to avoid demonstrations, large public gatherings, and areas with a heavy security presence. They were encouraged to maintain a low profile, monitor local media, and remain alert at all times. The State Department further recommended enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), which enables the US government to provide security updates and facilitate communication with citizens during emergencies.

Transporters join fuel dealers’ strike against d…

Transport associations across Pakistan have announced support for the Petroleum Dealers Association’s demands and warned of a possible suspension of transport services following a planned shutdown of petrol pumps. The All Pakistan Public Transport Owners Association said public transport operations could also come to a halt if fuel stations close at midnight. Association President Nadeem Hussain said the transport sector would support the petrol dealers’ stance against the government’s policy of fixing petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis. He demanded that the government withdraw the daily fuel pricing mechanism, saying it has created uncertainty and increased financial pressure on transport operators. Hussain said frequent changes in fuel prices directly affect transport businesses because fuel is one of the biggest operating costs for public transport owners. He warned that a continued increase in petroleum prices could further burden both transporters and passengers. The Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association also announced its support for the strike call by petrol station owners. Association President Sher Ali Chaudhry said mini Mazda vehicles would stop operating from midnight as part of the protest against daily increases in petroleum prices. He criticized the government’s decision to revise fuel prices regularly, saying it has made it difficult for transporters to manage expenses and maintain their services. Chaudhry said rising fuel costs have severely affected the transport sector, increasing operational expenses and reducing the income of vehicle owners and drivers. Both transport associations urged the government to reconsider the current fuel pricing policy and take steps to provide relief to transporters.

MULTAN: Subway Pakistan has initiated legal proceedings after one of its employees was allegedly assaulted by a customer at its Multan outlet, an incident that has sparked widespread outrage on social media. The altercation, captured on the restaurant’s CCTV cameras, quickly went viral online, prompting strong reactions from the public and renewed calls for better protection of frontline service workers. The employee, identified as Fazil, said the incident occurred while he was performing his duties and enforcing the restaurant’s policy prohibiting customers from consuming food purchased from outside the outlet. According to Fazil, a group of customers entered the restaurant carrying samosas. After an initial request from another staff member was reportedly ignored, he approached the group himself and politely explained the restaurant’s policy. He said he respectfully asked the customers to finish their food quickly to avoid disturbing others and to comply with the outlet’s operating procedures. Fazil alleged that the situation escalated unexpectedly when one of the customers, identified as Asad Khan, slapped him without warning. He claimed that even after stepping away to avoid further confrontation, the accused followed him and assaulted him again. The employee further alleged that he was grabbed by the neck, dragged across the restaurant and physically attacked by three individuals for several minutes. He said he sustained multiple blows to his face, back and other parts of his body despite offering no resistance. In an official statement, Subway Pakistan strongly condemned the incident, saying the safety, dignity and well-being of its employees remain a top priority. Tom Holland breaks down his mindset during 2019 Spider-Man crisis

Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally arrived in theatres on July 31. With the film now out, Tom Holland has opened up about what really went on behind the scenes to get it there. Back in 2019, Sony and Disney hit a major roadblock. Their co-financing deal for the Spider-Man franchise fell apart. For a while, it looked like the character’s future on screen was genuinely uncertain. Holland is said to have stepped in personally during this period. He reportedly reached out to both studios in hopes of smoothing things over. As part of this effort, he asked for Disney CEO Bob Iger’s email address. That contact reportedly made a direct conversation between them possible. Fan outrage played a role too. Combined with Holland’s own efforts, the backlash is believed to have pushed both companies back to the table. Eventually, they worked out a new arrangement. Years later, Holland revisited that chapter during a conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Horowitz asked him to describe what was going through his mind during that uncertain window in 2019. He noted it came right in the middle of an otherwise strong run for the franchise. Holland responded honestly. He said he felt confused more than anything else. According to him, everything between the two studios had seemed fine up until that point. He pointed to the strong response to the first solo film. He also mentioned the character’s appearance in Civil War, which he felt had gone down well with audiences. He added that he never lost confidence during that time. Holland said he always believed the next film would turn out great, regardless of the studio drama happening behind the scenes. He also clarified that he never felt personally pushed aside by either studio. Instead, Holland compared the situation to a disagreement between parents. He said both studios eventually spoke things through and recognised how well the character could work for each of them. He admitted he still isn’t entirely sure of every detail from that period. Still, he said his confidence in the character never wavered. He also credited collaborators Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman, and Rachel O’Connor for keeping things steady throughout. With the film now finally playing in cinemas, Holland’s comments give fans a candid look back. They show just how close Spider-Man’s future once came to falling apart, and how it eventually came together after all.

Gigi Hadid breaks silence after secret wedding rumours

Gigi Hadid has made a fresh social media appearance after recently grabbing attention with a wedding ring during a public outing with her boyfriend, Bradley Cooper. The supermodel, who was previously in a relationship with singer Zayn Malik, returned to Instagram on Sunday, August 9, sharing a series of photos that gave fans a glimpse into her summer days with her daughter, Khai. The update came just days after Gigi and Bradley fueled speculation that they may have secretly tied the knot. The 31-year-old model appeared to be enjoying a relaxed summer getaway with family and friends. Among the first pictures she shared was a sweet beach moment featuring Gigi alongside her younger sister, Bella Hadid. Both sisters looked effortlessly stylish as they posed together while enjoying the sunny surroundings. Another photo showed Gigi spending time with a close friend on a yacht, while their daughters were seen wearing matching swimsuits. The collection of images also captured several warm mother-daughter moments, highlighting how the model has been making the most of her summer break with Khai. Gigi’s post quickly attracted significant attention from her millions of followers. While many fans praised the beautiful summer snapshots, others could not help but notice how much Khai has grown. Several followers took to the comments section to express their surprise at seeing the little girl looking noticeably older. Fans described Khai as “so big” and shared their amazement at how quickly she appears to be growing up. The Instagram update also gave Gigi an opportunity to shift the focus away from the recent wedding speculation and toward her personal life and time with her daughter. Rumours surrounding Gigi and Bradley intensified earlier this month when the couple were spotted together in Paris. On Monday, August 3, the pair were photographed walking hand in hand through the French capital, with their jewellery immediately catching the attention of fans. Both appeared to be wearing rings on their hands, leading to widespread speculation that they may have secretly exchanged wedding vows. However, neither Gigi nor Bradley has publicly confirmed that they are married. The couple, who have reportedly been romantically linked since 2023, have generally kept their relationship away from the spotlight. Their rare public appearances have therefore continued to attract considerable attention. Gigi’s ring also became a major talking point among fans. The jewellery reportedly features 33 quarter-carat diamonds set alongside 18-karat yellow and white gold in a Grosgrain design. The ring has been reported to cost around $6,450. Despite the growing speculation, Gigi has not addressed the marriage rumours directly. Instead, her latest Instagram post focused on her summer memories, family and daughter. For now, fans will have to wait for Gigi or Bradley to confirm whether the rings were simply jewellery or a sign of a secret wedding.

PTI seeks immediate hospital transfer for Imran Kh…

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the immediate transfer of party founder Imran Khan to a hospital after a medical report highlighted concerns over his blood pressure and anxiety. The demand came after a report from Adiala Jail authorities was submitted to the Supreme Court. The report contains details of Imran Khan’s latest medical condition and recommendations for his care. PTI leaders held a press conference on Monday and expressed concern over the former prime minister’s health. They called for him to be moved to a hospital where he could receive specialised medical treatment. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said Imran Khan’s elevated blood pressure was a serious concern. He demanded that the former prime minister receive the best available medical care. Gohar said Imran Khan should also be given access to his personal doctors. He demanded that his family members and lawyers should be allowed to meet him. The PTI chairman said access to Imran Khan had remained restricted for months. He claimed that party representatives had repeatedly approached the courts seeking permission for meetings. According to Gohar, the PTI had approached the high court around 25 times and the Supreme Court around 15 times over the issue. He described meetings with family members, doctors and lawyers as Imran Khan’s fundamental legal right. He urged the judiciary to address the matter and ensure that the former prime minister received appropriate medical attention. Gohar said the party’s concerns would not end until Imran Khan was provided proper medical treatment and regular access to his family and legal team. He also criticised what he described as a prolonged dispute over access to the PTI founder. Gohar said the situation had continued since October and called for an end to what he termed a “cat and mouse game”. The PTI’s demands came shortly before the Supreme Court was scheduled to hear matters concerning Imran Khan. The jail report had recommended increasing family interaction to help manage his anxiety and blood pressure. It also contained details of his medical examinations and treatment. PTI leaders argued that the reported health concerns should be treated seriously and that hospitalisation would ensure closer medical supervision. The party has also continued to call for access to Imran Khan’s personal physicians, saying they should be allowed to assess his condition independently. The issue of Imran Khan’s health has become a major political and legal point of contention. PTI leaders have repeatedly raised concerns over his medical care and restrictions on meetings.
