Yungblud refuses to let injury stop his performances

Yungblud is refusing to let a painful leg injury keep him away from the stage, even after suffering an accident just hours before one of his recent performances.

The 29-year-old English musician revealed that he injured his leg in a dirt bike accident only two hours before taking the stage at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 9. Despite the injury, the singer decided to continue with the scheduled performance and appeared in front of thousands of fans.

According to footage shared by a fan on TikTok, Yungblud addressed the crowd and admitted that his injury would affect the way he performed. He jokingly told concertgoers that he would not be able to move around or dance as energetically as he normally does because of the condition of his leg.

However, the musician made it clear that the injury would not prevent him from doing what he loves. Rather than cancelling the show, he pushed through the pain and completed his performance for fans attending the motorcycle rally.

Yungblud later gave an update to fans who were unable to attend the South Dakota concert. On August 17, the singer shared several photographs on Instagram showing his injured and bandaged leg, along with a crutch that he has been using while recovering.

Alongside the pictures, he reassured fans that although his leg was in bad shape, he was still determined to continue performing. He also confirmed that he would be heading to Europe for upcoming shows in Portugal and Belgium, promising fans that the performances would still be full of energy.

His update quickly attracted a wave of supportive messages from followers. Many fans praised the singer for refusing to let the injury stop him from appearing on stage, while others encouraged him to take some time to rest and properly recover.

Some followers also used humor to lighten the situation. One fan praised him for continuing to show up despite the injury, while another jokingly referenced the phrase “break a leg,” suggesting that he had taken the expression a little too literally.

Others were more concerned about his health and urged him to be careful and look after himself during his recovery.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally performance marked the conclusion of the American leg of Yungblud’s Idols World Tour. Despite his unexpected injury, the singer appears determined to keep the tour moving forward, with European performances now on his schedule.

Yungblud’s decision to perform just hours after the accident has further highlighted his commitment to his fans and his determination to remain on the road, even when faced with an unexpected setback.

Sangeetha had filed for divorce in February 2026. In her petition, she had alleged that Vijay was involved in a relationship with a female actor. She claimed that she became aware of the alleged relationship in 2021. According to her, Vijay had promised to end the relationship but allegedly failed to do so. The petition further alleged that Vijay gradually excluded Sangeetha from his personal and professional life. She claimed that he continued to appear publicly and travel abroad with the actress. Sangeetha also stated that photographs of Vijay and the actress were repeatedly shared on social media. She alleged that Vijay neither denied nor objected to the circulation of the pictures. According to the petition, Sangeetha said the situation caused severe emotional distress and humiliation to her and their two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha. She also alleged that Vijay withdrew previously available facilities, imposed financial restrictions and limited her movements. Sangeetha further claimed that Vijay’s behaviour and social media controversies surrounding him in 2024 caused her significant emotional trauma. She maintained that their marriage had effectively ended and existed only on paper. She alleged that the relationship had subjected her to prolonged emotional distress, humiliation and suffering.

    Toxic gas leak kills eight at Bangladesh shipyard

    At least eight workers were killed and five others were reported missing after toxic gas leaked from a vessel at a shipbreaking yard in Bangladesh on Friday. The incident occurred at the Ferdous Steel Shipbreaking Yard and Recycling Factory in Chittagong, a major hub for ship dismantling on the country’s southeastern coast. Witnesses said they heard cries from inside the facility before fellow workers rushed several affected employees to nearby hospitals. Police said eight people had died while a search operation was underway for those still unaccounted for. Authorities have formed an investigation committee to determine the cause of the accident and ordered a safety audit of the shipbreaking facility. Officials said the vessel involved had previously been used to transport liquefied natural gas. Although the yard was reportedly classified as a compliant facility, fire service officials raised concerns about whether proper safety procedures had been followed before dismantling work began. According to fire service officials, vessels must be completely cleared of hazardous gases before workers begin cutting them apart. They said workers who were closest to the gas leak died, while others farther from the affected area survived. Firefighters recovered three bodies from the site and rescued several workers who were found unconscious. The injured were transported to hospitals for treatment. The shipbreaking industry along Chittagong’s coast stretches for around 25 kilometres and provides employment to tens of thousands of people. Bangladesh is one of the world’s major shipbreaking centres, but the industry has repeatedly faced criticism over workplace safety, labour conditions and environmental risks. One of the workers killed in the accident was identified as Palash Jaladas. His family was left devastated by the tragedy, with relatives saying his wife, Bhoumika Jaladas, is eight months pregnant.

    KARACHI: Investigators probing the murder of young businessman Mir Raza are facing challenges in completing geo-fencing around the crime scene, with the passage of several days making it harder to accurately reconstruct movements in the area. According to investigative sources, the crime scene is located near a hilly area that has been subjected to geo-fencing. Mobile towers belonging to three different telecom companies are situated around the location, allowing investigators to collect data on mobile activity in the vicinity. Sources said geo-fencing has so far produced location data covering several blocks of Gulistan-i-Jauhar. However, because considerable time has elapsed since the incident, investigators are finding it difficult to establish which individuals were present near the crime scene at the relevant time. Police have also collected various pieces of evidence from the surrounding area. Investigators reportedly conducted a search within a radius of around 500 metres from the location where the body was found. Meanwhile, the newly formed investigation committee has obtained details linked to Mir Raza’s smartwatch. Investigators are now attempting to retrieve the device’s complete data, which could potentially provide additional information about his movements and activities before his death. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to combine digital records, physical evidence and device data to determine what happened in the final hours of Mir Raza’s life.

    FPCCI seeks industry consultation before revision of incremental power package

    ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has called on the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to consult industry representatives before making any changes to the Incremental Package for industrial electricity consumers. The business community has warned that revising the package without taking major industrial stakeholders into confidence could create market distortions, undermine the intended benefits of the scheme and potentially transfer additional costs to industries that do not qualify for incremental consumption incentives. In post-hearing comments submitted to Nepra on August 12, 2026, FPCCI said the regulator had already directed that the proposed changes to the Incremental Package should first be presented to and discussed with industry representatives before being brought back for approval. The federation welcomed the direction, describing meaningful stakeholder participation as essential for developing a workable electricity pricing mechanism for industrial consumers. FPCCI highlights delayed review FPCCI also raised concerns over the failure to conduct the package’s scheduled quarterly review. According to the federation, the Incremental Package was specifically designed to undergo a review every three months. However, no review had been conducted for approximately eight months. The federation said the prolonged delay had created uncertainty for industrial consumers and prevented the timely identification and correction of issues within the package. FPCCI urged Nepra to immediately carry out the overdue review and ensure that the quarterly review mechanism is followed consistently in the future. The federation argued that regular reviews were particularly important because industrial electricity consumption, production conditions and operating costs can change significantly over time. Major industry bodies seek participation FPCCI requested Nepra to formally engage leading industry organisations before the next hearing on the proposed revision. The organisations named by the federation include the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), as well as other major chambers and industrial associations. FPCCI said the participation of these organisations would allow the regulator to understand the practical challenges faced by different categories of industrial consumers. It stressed that the revised package should be based on actual industrial requirements and should not discriminate against existing consumers who are unable to qualify as incremental users. Warning against cost shifting The federation expressed concern that changes to the package could result in an unintended transfer of costs to non-incremental industrial units. FPCCI said any revised mechanism should ensure that incentives provided to additional electricity consumption do not create a financial burden for other consumers. It also called for clear safeguards to ensure that only genuine incremental electricity consumers receive the benefits of the package. According to the federation, the regulator should introduce mechanisms capable of preventing existing consumption from being presented as new or incremental demand merely to obtain preferential electricity rates. FPCCI maintained that a transparent verification system would be necessary to protect the integrity of the package and prevent potential misuse. Requests submitted to Nepra In its submission, FPCCI made a series of requests to the power regulator. The federation asked Nepra to formally consult FPCCI, KCCI, KATI, APTMA and other major industry bodies before the next hearing. It also requested the authority to provide sufficient advance notice of the date and time of any consultation, along with an online meeting link, so that FPCCI could coordinate participation by relevant chambers, associations and industrial representatives. The federation further sought a formal opportunity to present detailed recommendations on the proposed redesign of the Incremental Package. It called for safeguards restricting benefits to genuine incremental units and urged Nepra to immediately conduct the quarterly review that has remained pending for the past eight months. FPCCI also proposed making consultation with major industrial chambers and associations mandatory before any future revision or review of the Incremental Package or similar electricity pricing schemes. Invitation to power-sector institutions In a further effort to promote direct dialogue, FPCCI invited Nepra, the Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC) and the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guaranteed (CPPA-G) to visit its head office in Karachi. The federation proposed holding detailed discussions with the relevant institutions in the presence of industry representatives. FPCCI said direct engagement would provide an opportunity for all stakeholders to examine the existing mechanism, identify practical shortcomings and develop solutions based on actual operating conditions in the industrial sector. It maintained that consultation could help bridge the gap between regulatory objectives and the realities faced by industrial consumers. Industry seeks predictable power policy The dispute over the Incremental Package comes amid continued concerns among industrial consumers over electricity costs, competitiveness and the predictability of power-sector policies. For export-oriented and energy-intensive industries, electricity pricing is a major component of production costs. Business representatives have therefore repeatedly called for stable and transparent tariff mechanisms that allow companies to plan production and investment decisions. FPCCI said any changes to the Incremental Package should balance the objective of increasing electricity consumption with the need to maintain fairness among different categories of industrial consumers. The federation believes that a properly designed package, supported by regular reviews and meaningful industry consultation, could encourage additional industrial electricity consumption without imposing unintended costs on existing consumers.
