“Great to see this car here on @BaT. I remember my dad and Jan putting this sale together back in the early 2000’s.
The history of the car is so well documented. Jan wanted a factory car and Al new Dr. Falk from the early days of the FOC and when the car came up it was a good fit.
I did go to Luppi personally while on a trip to Italy in 2003 to get the materials for the interior.
Reading through this listing brings back a lot of great memories.

“Took the car for a spin yesterday with the owner. My track car frame of reference is a track modified GT4 and 997.1 C4 before that. What perhaps doesn’t come through in the videos is all the audible feedback. The boost comes on hard when the hammer is down, yet seems controlled when the throttle is feathered in a turn. “This is SW, this car belonged to me for quite a while. I purchased it as a 4 speed A/C car. It was extremely nice, straight with a beautiful undercarriage, which was the main reason I bought it. The Paint was nice but I am very picky so we disassembled it and had it blocked and resprayed. It drove amazingly well. After a few years I sold it to a friend so I wouldn’t take it apart and make it a restomod like all my others. He had a 5speed installed, drove it some but since he owns over 75 other…”

“I had one 50 years ago. Definitely fun and to say driving is a “vintage experience” doesn’t really cut it. It’s pretty much pre-war in feel, but with more power. You are exposed to the elements to about the same degree as a motorcycle with a windshield, and the chassis is the best British custom: suspension that allows you to drive over a dime and tell if it’s heads or tails, and tires with similar width to a current electric mountain bike.”

“In high school I drove a ’66 mustang with a 289 and a ’66 red convertible 6 cyl similar to this. I always really enjoyed the 6 cyl version. It was much easier to steer, and somehow felt more fun and nimble.
Still have the 289 (notchback, Ivy Green Metallic). It was my Mom’s car from new and has been lovingly taken care of. One day it will pass to my nephew.”
