    Our Local Partners network continues to grow, and we’re always  excited to bring new shops into the fold. Local Partners are trusted operations that have partnered with BaT to provide professional services and expertise to private owners wishing to list their vehicles on BaT. Such services can include preparation, presentation, and auction management; additionally, mechanical repairs, shipping, and logistical assistance are often available. It’s our goal to make it possible for anyone who wants to sell on Bring a Trailer to get the help they need to do it well, and our Local Partners have a proven track record demonstrating the transparency and engagement necessary to achieve successful results.     “I own a 1938 Flying Squirrel. The engine number is one digit away from this bike and the frame number is two digits away. When I contacted the Scott Club Registry to authenticate my bike I was advised that 220 Flying Squirrels were produced (500cc and 600cc versions combined) in 1938. The whereabouts of 101 were known. Of those, twenty had the redesigned detachable head as does this bike. GLWTS”

    Few people are more qualified to cover the Greenwich Concours than roving BaT contributor @kobus, who has been attending the event every year for quite some time, and even served as the official photographer a few years back. He’s been keeping a busy racing schedule this summer but was still able to make time for this year’s show, and brought back his reflections on the event along with a wonderful collection of images.     The Swig Family Collection, Presented by Fantasy Junction—All Cars Are Live!: A Practical Look

    Our very own Howard Swig grew up in a family famous for automotive enthusiasm, and in his 10+ years at BaT he has been instrumental in building this site into what it has become today. His late father Martin was the San Francisco franchise dealer for at least 17 different marques, keeping up a vast inventory of interesting vehicles with a heavy focus on imports like Alfas, Datsuns, Saabs, Toyotas, Mercedes trucks, Sterlings, and more. He later went on to found the California Mille, inspired by his participation in the 1982 Mille Miglia Storica as the sole American entrant. His acquisitions of several interesting racing and sports cars formed the backbone of a collection that continues to be kept and enjoyed by the rest of the Swig family. Today, we’re excited to announce that six cars from the Swig Family Collection will be represented here by @FantasyJunction, out of Emeryville, California, and many will be offered with no reserve.

    “I owned an ‘85 nearly identical to this. I drove it the way Carroll Shelby intended. I quickly installed the Mopar Performance logic module and after getting the timing dialed in and an AutoMeter boost gauge installed, I was even more ready to “Go Like Hell.” So, one Friday evening in the spring, I was laying down rubber in first and second gear at each stop.

    “Automatics are great – First, generally driven less spiritedly over their lifetime. Second, the automatic is actually very good. My auto on back roads, 2nd gear could go from about 25 mph to 70 mph. Often with a group of other 02s, I would be pushing the car in front of me that was modified. Third, the auto works while you find that 5 speed that is wider than a 4 speed and what else is wider? The tunnel in an automatic. No hammer needed for installation.
