“I would have seen this car take pole Vancouver Indy. Never missed a day of Indy CART when we had the series in Vancouver. What experiences! “I drove one of these on the Lotus Factory test track, a phenomenal car. This has the touring suspension which makes it a nice daily driver. I did not drive an Emira with the sport suspension but from what I hear it is still very streetable. I have a friend with an Emira so far the only repairs are software updates.”

The sport evolution is the 3rd evolution of the E30 M3 homologated for racing. It was produced for just 3 months in 1990 resulting in 600 models. 500 models were required to evolve a race car at the time. Only 204 Red Sport evos were ever made.
This car is 100% original in terms of parts. The modifications are exactly as it left BMW.
The Sport evo was the only E30 M3 to feature a 2.5 Liter S14 engine making 238 HP.

“In the 70’s (in college), I had a summer job at Stern-Hasskell ( high end dealer ) in the Bronx NY. That is where I saw my first and only Mangusta. I never forgot it. It is as stunning today as it was all those many years ago. Thanks for the memories!!”

Subsequent personal involvement with John Coombs’ lightweight E Types at Goodwood only served to deepen the lifelong fascination and appreciation of these automotive masterpieces. “I daily drove a very similar example for about a year and 13,000 miles – same year, 6 speed, RWD, ZSP, no nav.
I still think about it ALL the time. Out of the 20+ BMWs I’ve owned (including *four other E91s*, that one was one of my favorites and by far my favorite E91.
IMO, the miles aren’t that scary. Do the clutch/flywheel, but you shouldn’t have any other notable issues otherwise. A 3 stage manifold would be a nice add-on as well. This car is also pretty close to a stripper spec…”

“I had a ’68 for almost 20 years. I personally feel that the early SWB is the loveliest iteration of the 911, ever: cleanest lines, sublime, reductive design. 1968 has a bunch of “year-only” features that make it extra cool. Good luck to whoever wins this beauty and whatever you do afterwards, update this car to carrera chain tensioners immediately. It’s an easy upgrade and will save your engine when the original tensioners fail, which they definitely will. Awesome car!”
