Taylor Swift music removed from Trump TikTok videos

Taylor Swift has reportedly had more of her music removed from TikTok videos posted by Donald Trump and the official White House account, adding another chapter to the ongoing tension between the pop superstar and the US president.

The latest incident involved Swift’s 2021 song “Bet You Think About Me,” which was featured in a TikTok video showing Trump speaking to supporters. The video was posted on the official White House account and included a caption that appeared to reference Swift’s lyrics, saying, “We know you think about us.”

However, within hours of the video being posted, viewers noticed that Swift’s song was no longer playing. The audio had been muted, while an onscreen message stated that the sound was unavailable. The removal quickly attracted attention from Swift’s fans, many of whom have closely followed the singer’s public and political disagreements with Trump.

Reports have also indicated that Swift’s music was removed from other White House TikTok videos posted months earlier. One recent example featured Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks. The video included text describing the mood as being excited because it was August and Trump was president.

The clip originally featured Swift’s song “August,” a track from her critically acclaimed 2020 album “Folklore.” It also included a message from Trump’s team suggesting that Swift would be pleased that her music had been used, along with hashtags referencing the singer, the song and the MAGA movement.

The situation changed several days later when the song was no longer available in the video. Instead, TikTok displayed a notice explaining that the copyright owner had not made the sound available in the country.

Trump’s social media team later appeared to respond by using another Swift song, “Red,” in a separate TikTok post. The video featured a parody album cover showing Trump wearing a red MAGA hat, along with a fictional playlist titled “Red (Donald Trump’s Version).”

The disputes over Swift’s music come amid a long-running public relationship between the singer and Trump that has often been marked by political differences. Trump has previously criticized Swift publicly, while the singer has openly expressed political views that have frequently placed her at odds with him and his supporters.

Swift’s ownership of her music has also become an important part of the situation. She regained control of her original master recordings in May 2025 after a lengthy dispute over ownership. As a result, her control over her catalog has allowed her to take a stronger position regarding how her recordings are used.

The repeated removal of Swift’s songs from Trump-related TikTok posts highlights the complicated relationship between copyright ownership, social media and political messaging. It also demonstrates how the use of popular music can quickly become controversial when it is connected to political figures or movements.

Gold prices surge in global and Pakistan markets

Karachi: Gold prices witnessed a significant increase in both international and local markets on Tuesday, driven by strong gains in the global bullion market. The latest surge pushed gold to new record levels, impacting precious metal prices across Pakistan. According to market data, the international bullion market recorded a $47 increase per ounce, taking the global gold price to $4,068 per ounce. The sharp rise reflects continued investor demand for safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainty and market volatility. Following the upward trend in international markets, Pakistan’s local bullion market also experienced a notable jump in gold prices. The price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs4,700, reaching Rs429,236. The increase marks one of the most significant single-day gains in recent weeks. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs4,029, bringing the new rate to Rs368,000. The latest price hike is expected to affect jewelry buyers and investors, as demand for gold typically fluctuates with changes in international market trends. Silver prices also followed the upward trajectory. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs219, reaching Rs6,396, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs188 to Rs5,483. Experts believe that local precious metal prices will continue to remain closely linked to international bullion market movements and fluctuations in the exchange rate. Any further increase in global gold prices or changes in economic conditions could lead to additional price adjustments in Pakistan’s bullion market. Investors and consumers are advised to monitor daily gold and silver rates before making purchasing or investment decisions, as prices remain highly sensitive to global economic developments and market sentiment.

Teen in clown costume arrested after fatal stabbin…

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly fatally stabbing a 78-year-old man while dressed in a clown costume in East St. Louis, Illinois, in a case that has shocked local residents and gained widespread attention online. Authorities say doorbell camera footage and neighborhood surveillance videos were instrumental in identifying and apprehending the suspect. According to police, the incident occurred on Monday night when the victim, John Wesley Allen Sr., was waiting at a bus stop to meet his sister. Investigators allege that the teenager, dressed in a loose black-and-red clown outfit, suddenly attacked the elderly man with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. Allen, a retired bus driver and US Navy veteran, died from his injuries. Before the fatal attack, the suspect was reportedly seen wandering through nearby neighborhoods while wearing the clown costume. Residents told investigators that the teenager rang several doorbells, peered through windows, and appeared to be searching for someone. One widely shared doorbell camera video shows the suspect leaning toward the camera and whispering, “I’m looking for you,” in a chilling moment that later spread across social media. Initially, many online users believed the footage was part of a prank or a horror-themed stunt. However, police later confirmed that the video was connected to a real homicide investigation, adding to the public shock surrounding the case. One local resident told police that if his mother had opened the door after the suspect rang the bell, she might also have become a victim. Investigators are reviewing additional surveillance footage and digital evidence to determine whether the attack was premeditated or a random act of violence. Using surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses, police identified the suspect and arrested him within hours at a residence in the area. Authorities have charged the teenager with first-degree murder. Because the suspect is a minor, law enforcement officials have not released his identity. Police said preliminary findings indicate that the victim and the suspect had no known connection, suggesting the stabbing may have been a random attack. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue examining evidence, including social media activity and surveillance recordings, to establish the motive behind the killing. The case has drawn national attention due to its disturbing nature and the viral spread of the doorbell camera footage, while authorities continue to urge the public to avoid speculation until the investigation is complete.

Pakistan’s total debt burden nears Rs84 trillion as government borrowing rises

Pakistan’s total government debt stock climbed to a record level of nearly Rs84 trillion by the end of June 2026, highlighting the growing financial burden facing the country amid continued reliance on domestic and external borrowing. According to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the federal government’s total debt increased by 7.4% on a year-on-year basis during the fiscal year ended June 2026. The central government’s debt stood at Rs83,642 billion in June 2026, compared with Rs77,888 billion recorded in June 2025. The debt stock also increased significantly on a monthly basis, rising from Rs81,955 billion in May 2026. The latest figures indicate that the government’s debt increased by around Rs5,754 billion, or Rs5.75 trillion, over the course of the fiscal year. Domestic debt remains major component Domestic borrowing accounted for the largest portion of the government’s total debt. According to SBP data, the federal government’s domestic debt rose by 9.1% year-on-year to Rs59,441 billion by June 2026. The increase reflects continued dependence on the domestic financial market to meet the government’s financing requirements, including budgetary needs and debt-servicing obligations. Meanwhile, the federal government’s external debt increased by 3.3% during the year, reaching Rs24,201 billion by June 2026. Although the growth in external debt remained comparatively lower than domestic borrowing, the foreign-currency component continues to place pressure on the country’s external financing position, particularly when debt repayments coincide with periods of weak foreign exchange inflows. Debt servicing poses growing challenge The continued rise in the debt stock is also raising concerns about the government’s ability to manage debt-servicing costs while creating fiscal space for development spending and public services. A growing share of government revenues is required to meet interest and principal repayment obligations, limiting the resources available for infrastructure, social development and other productive investments. Economic experts have warned that if the debt trajectory is not brought under control, the rising burden could turn into a “debt trap” for the economy. They argue that reducing dependence on borrowing would require stronger revenue mobilisation, greater fiscal discipline, higher exports and sustained economic growth. Improving the efficiency of public spending and reducing reliance on debt-financed expenditures could also help contain the pressure.
