    LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has arrested three suspects in coordinated operations across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan for allegedly harassing, blackmailing, and targeting women through social media platforms. The operations were carried out under the special directives and supervision of NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem as part of an intensified campaign against cyber-enabled crimes involving women. During the raids, investigators seized mobile phones, SIM cards, and other electronic devices containing digital evidence, while further investigations are underway. In Lahore, NCCIA officials arrested Qaiser Bilal in connection with FIR No. 151/2026. Authorities said a mobile phone recovered from the suspect allegedly contained objectionable photographs of the complainant, threatening messages, and evidence of image sharing. Investigators further alleged that the suspect created a private TikTok account under the name “Miss.B” to upload the victim’s photographs and falsely posed as an officer of a sensitive government institution to intimidate and blackmail her. The case is being investigated by Sub-Inspector Umm Salma. In Faisalabad, officials arrested Soban Ahmed under FIR No. 100/2026. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly used social media platforms and WhatsApp to blackmail and threaten the complainant’s sister by exploiting objectionable material. A mobile phone and SIM cards believed to have been used in the offence were recovered during the operation. Sub-Inspector Umar Rehman is leading the investigation. Meanwhile, in Multan, NCCIA arrested Muhammad Imran in connection with FIR No. 123/2026. Authorities alleged that the suspect obtained objectionable images of the complainant and circulated them through multiple WhatsApp accounts while continuously harassing the victim and her family. Investigators recovered a mobile phone, two SIM cards, and the WhatsApp account allegedly used in the crime. A court has granted a four-day physical remand of the suspect to facilitate further investigation, which is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Saeed Ahmed. Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting women from online harassment, blackmail, and the misuse of digital platforms. He said the agency would continue taking strict legal action against those involved in cybercrimes targeting women and would use advanced digital forensic techniques to ensure offenders are brought to justice.

    Court issues arrest warrants for KP CM

    An Islamabad court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi after he repeatedly failed to appear in a case related to alleged misleading statements and defamatory remarks against state institutions. The court observed that the chief minister neither appeared personally nor sent legal counsel despite being summoned on multiple occasions. After noting his continued absence, the judge ordered law enforcement authorities to ensure his appearance at the next hearing. Investigators allege that the chief minister used electronic media to make misleading statements and defamatory remarks targeting state institutions. In another significant legal development, former senator and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry has approached the Supreme Court after the Lahore High Court refused to suspend the sentence handed down to him by an anti-terrorism court. Chaudhry is currently serving his sentence at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail. He was convicted over his alleged involvement in meetings held before the violent incidents that followed the events of May 9, 2023. In his petition, Chaudhry argued that the conviction was based on weak and disputed evidence. He maintained that he was not originally nominated in the FIR and that his name was added later through supplementary statements. The petition also stated that no weapons, electronic devices, or other incriminating evidence were recovered from him. The petition further argued that police witnesses failed to present independent evidence linking him to the alleged conspiracy. It asked the Supreme Court to suspend his sentence and grant him bail until his appeal is decided. Meanwhile, Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, alleged that her brother was being denied his basic rights in prison.     PM Shehbaz unveils first Youth Employment Policy

He said the government is focusing on education, skills, employment and entrepreneurship for young people. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Shehbaz said a significant amount of money had been allocated for youth development this year. He stressed the importance of equal educational opportunities. He said every child should have access to quality education.The prime minister said Pakistan could not achieve the vision of Quaid-e-Azam if quality education remained limited to wealthy families. He criticised the gap between privileged and poor students. He said elite institutions provide better facilities to children from affluent families. According to Shehbaz, this inequality has contributed to Pakistan’s weak performance in the education sector. He said his government had worked to bring students from remote and less-developed areas into the education system. The prime minister also highlighted the Daanish Schools programme. He said its network is being expanded beyond Punjab. New Daanish Schools are being established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, he added. Shehbaz said young people must be given access to modern education and technology. He warned that Pakistan would fall further behind if its youth were not prepared for the changing global economy. 35% quota for women The prime minister announced important measures under the new employment policy. He said women would receive a 35% quota across the labour force.He also announced a 10% annual quota for startups. The measure is aimed at encouraging young entrepreneurs and creating new employment opportunities. Shehbaz said young people should not only look for jobs. They should also be encouraged to establish businesses and create employment for others. Daanish University in Islamabad The prime minister also announced progress on Daanish University in Islamabad.He said the university is being established to provide modern and quality education. Classes are expected to begin next year.Shehbaz said financial difficulties should not prevent talented students from pursuing higher education. He said students with strong academic results would be given opportunities even if they could not afford expensive education. The prime minister pledged that his government would take every possible step for youth development. He said higher education and employment would remain among the government’s key priorities. Shehbaz also highlighted the government’s laptop distribution programme. He said around 700,000 laptops had already been distributed among deserving students.According to the prime minister, the laptops were awarded strictly on merit. He recalled that the programme had faced criticism in the past. Some critics had accused the government of using laptops for political purposes.Shehbaz rejected the criticism and said deserving students received the devices based on their academic performance. He further announced that 250,000 students would receive Chromebooks this year.The devices will also be distributed on merit. The prime minister said investment in education and digital skills was essential for Pakistan’s future.He said young people represent the country’s biggest resource. Providing them with education, technology and employment opportunities, he added, would help build a skilled workforce and strengthen the national economy.The new Youth Employment Policy is therefore being presented as a broader government effort to connect education with employment and entrepreneurship.
