Gigi Hadid fuels relationship buzz with ring in Paris

Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper have once again fueled speculation about the status of their relationship after they were spotted wearing matching rings during a recent outing in Paris.

The couple, who have been romantically linked since October 2023, were photographed leaving a gym together on Thursday. During the outing, Hadid was seen wearing a ring on her left hand, drawing renewed attention to the jewellery that has recently sparked engagement and marriage rumours.

For the casual workout session, Cooper kept his look simple, wearing a backwards white baseball cap, a blue One Tribe Foundation “Hero 365” T-shirt, and matching athletic shorts. Unlike Hadid, however, he was not seen wearing the ring during the gym visit.

The pair first ignited speculation earlier this week when they appeared together in Paris wearing matching rings. Fans quickly questioned whether the accessories signaled an engagement or a secret wedding.

Reports suggest Hadid’s ring is a luxury wedding band crafted by French jewellery house Boucheron. The model’s piece is believed to be the Quatre Radiant Edition Wedding Band, valued at approximately $6,450. Cooper’s matching ring is said to be the Godron Pink Gold Wedding Band, priced at around $2,120.

The complementary designs have attracted attention because they symbolize unity and commitment. The double-band style of Cooper’s ring is often associated with the strength of a lasting relationship, adding to the speculation surrounding the couple’s romance.

Despite the growing rumours, multiple reports indicate that the rings do not necessarily mean wedding plans are underway. According to an insider, the couple have owned the rings for several months and consider them commitment rings rather than engagement or wedding bands.

The source claimed that Hadid and Cooper are happy with their relationship but are not interested in having a traditional wedding or getting married at this stage. The insider also noted that their relationship continues to grow stronger and that they are in a good place together.

The latest sighting comes as Cooper spends time in Paris for professional commitments. The actor is reportedly preparing for a major film project in which he is expected to write, direct and star. The upcoming production is said to explore the backstory of Danny Ocean’s father and is set years before the events of the popular Ocean’s 11 franchise.

In addition to the live-action film, Cooper is also expected to lend his voice to an upcoming animated feature directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bong Joon Ho. The project features an ensemble voice cast and is scheduled for release in 2027.

Both stars have children from previous relationships. Hadid shares five-year-old daughter Khai with former partner Zayn Malik, while Cooper co-parents nine-year-old daughter Lea De Seine with model Irina Shayk.

Although marriage rumours continue to circulate, neither Hadid nor Cooper has publicly commented on the significance of the matching rings, leaving fans to continue speculating about the future of their relationship.

Pakistanis get relief as US visa policy overturned

A US federal judge has struck down a State Department policy that suspended immigrant visa processing for applicants from Pakistan and 74 other countries. US District Judge Jeannette Vargas issued the ruling in Manhattan, finding that the policy exceeded the legal authority of Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The State Department had introduced the suspension in January, preventing consular officials from issuing immigrant visas to applicants based solely on their nationality. Judge Vargas described the policy as unlawful and said it conflicted with federal immigration law. She ruled that the law does not give the Secretary of State the authority to impose a blanket suspension on immigrant visa issuance based on an applicant’s nationality. The policy affected applicants from a wide range of countries, including Pakistan and Bangladesh in South Asia. Several countries in Latin America, the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean were also included. US authorities had defended the measure by arguing that applicants from the listed countries were considered more likely to become dependent on government-funded assistance after entering the United States. The ruling came in a case brought by immigrant rights organisations, visa applicants and US citizens sponsoring family members from the affected countries. The plaintiffs challenged the State Department’s decision, arguing that the blanket suspension unlawfully restricted access to the immigrant visa process. The decision represents a legal setback for the Trump administration, which has pursued tougher immigration policies since returning to office. The administration has said its immigration measures are intended to strengthen national security and reduce pressure on public resources. Immigrant rights groups, however, have criticised several aspects of the crackdown. They have raised concerns about due process, discrimination and the treatment of ethnic minorities. The State Department had not immediately issued a response to the judge’s decision.

Army major martyred, five terrorists killed

A Pakistan Army major was martyred while leading an intelligence-based operation (IBO) against terrorists in the Razmak area of North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday. According to the military’s media wing, security forces launched the operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. During the exchange of fire, five terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Khawarij were killed. ISPR identified the martyred officer as Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, 34, a resident of Mianwali district. The military said the officer was leading his troops from the front and fought bravely during the operation before embracing martyrdom. The statement said the slain terrorists were actively involved in multiple attacks against security forces, law enforcement personnel and civilians. Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment from the militants during the operation. Following the successful raid, sanitisation operations were launched in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure the area is fully cleared. The military said the operation forms part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-i-Istehkam strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating all forms of terrorism and will continue intelligence-driven operations against militants across the country. It added that the sacrifices of soldiers strengthen the nation’s resolve to safeguard peace and security. Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist incidents since the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in late 2022. Since then, security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to dismantle militant networks.

Hassan Murtaza slams alleged AJK rigging

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Punjab General Secretary Hassan Murtaza has accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of rigging in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections. Murtaza said the election process was marred by serious violations of the electoral code of conduct. He alleged that the rules were repeatedly ignored during polling. He made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Lahore. Murtaza also criticised the role of the Election Commission during the elections. He alleged that the commission failed to perform its duties impartially. According to him, it appeared to be acting like an election agent instead of an independent institution. The PPP leader strongly criticised the PML-N over the election results. He accused the party of setting a new example of electoral manipulation. “You steal the mandate of whoever you want,” Murtaza said while criticising the PML-N. He also referred to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s statements about AJK. Murtaza said Sharif was now visiting Kashmir and calling for himself to be made prime minister. The PPP leader said the current political situation in AJK was also linked to the sacrifices and political role of the PPP. Murtaza said that if Nawaz Sharif was able to go to Kashmir today and demand the prime minister’s position, it was partly because of the PPP’s political contribution. The PPP leader also raised serious concerns over violence during the polling process. He said a PPP worker was killed on election day. Murtaza described the incident as a serious matter that would remain part of the political record. He said history would record what happened during the elections. It would also establish who was responsible for the violence and who lost his life. The allegations came after the PML-N emerged as the leading party in the first phase of the AJK elections. The party secured nine seats, according to the results cited in the report

    Thousands storm Spain’s Ceuta border

Thousands of migrants gathered overnight in the Moroccan town of Fnideq near the border with the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, creating fresh pressure on one of Europe’s busiest migration routes. The large movement of people came despite a major security operation launched by Moroccan and Spanish authorities to stop illegal border crossings. Security forces strengthened patrols and reinforced checkpoints around the border. However, many migrants continued searching for ways to reach Ceuta. Some walked along the coastline looking for gaps in the border fence, while others prepared to swim across the sea in hopes of entering Spanish territory. According to Spanish media reports, between 2,000 and 3,000 migrants managed to cross into Ceuta on Thursday. Most of the successful crossings reportedly took place before security measures were tightened later in the day. Ceuta, along with the nearby Spanish enclave of Melilla, is the European Union’s only land border with Africa. The two territories have long served as major entry points for migrants hoping to begin a new life in Europe. Spain responded to the latest migration surge by sending additional military personnel and police officers to Ceuta. Authorities in the enclave also confirmed that nine bodies had been recovered following the crossing attempts, although officials have not released further details about the victims. Moroccan authorities deployed water cannon vehicles and additional security personnel at the border. Officers repeatedly pushed back groups attempting to force their way through the crossing points. Despite the heavy presence, migrants continued gathering throughout the night. Violence broke out near the border as tensions escalated. Several vehicles, including a bus and seven other vehicles, were set on fire during clashes. Burnt-out vehicles remained on the roadside after the unrest, highlighting the intensity of the confrontation. Many migrants described scenes of panic and confusion. One migrant said he became trapped in a stampede as people rushed toward a narrow coastal route. He said he feared for his life as people pushed and stepped on one another while trying to reach the border. Traffic into Fnideq remained heavily congested as more migrants continued arriving from different parts of Morocco. Some travelled along highways on foot, while others used mountain paths to avoid police checkpoints. Many spent the night waiting for another opportunity to cross. The crowds included men, women and children from Morocco as well as several countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Many families remained stranded near the border after repeated attempts to enter Ceuta were blocked. Among them was 23-year-old Fatima Mahli from the Moroccan city of Tetouan. She said she had travelled with her two daughters hoping to cross into Ceuta with her husband. According to her, her husband left before dawn to try to swim across after they realised the border crossing was effectively closed.
