Julie Andrews confirms exit from Princess Diaries 3

Julie Andrews has confirmed that she will not return as Queen Clarisse Renaldi in The Princess Diaries 3, ending hopes that the beloved royal figure would share the screen with Anne Hathaway’s Mia Thermopolis.

Andrews, 90, explained in a recent interview that she considers herself largely retired from on-screen acting. Instead, the Oscar-winning star now focuses on writing books, podcasts and voice work. She said the creative team had approached her repeatedly during the past year about appearing in the sequel, but she ultimately decided against it.

The decision marks a change for a franchise built around Andrews’ portrayal of Clarisse, Mia’s grandmother and Genovia’s former queen. Andrews appeared alongside Hathaway in both The Princess Diaries, released in 2001, and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in 2004.

Andrews indicated that the third film can continue without her. Her comments reflect the passage of more than two decades since the original movies and her decision to focus on other creative work. The news comes as anticipation for the long-awaited return to Genovia continues to build among audiences who grew up with the films.

Hathaway remains attached to the third installment, which is being directed by Adele Lim. The project remains in development, with filmmakers shaping a story that moves Mia into a new stage of life. Lim has said the team wants to honor the affection audiences have for the original films while giving the sequel its own direction.

Andrews’ absence has already prompted an emotional response from fans. For many viewers, her performance as Clarisse was central to the charm of the series, making the prospect of returning to Genovia without her bittersweet. Others have supported Andrews’ decision to step away from on-screen acting.

Although Clarisse will not return in Andrews’ performance, her legacy remains deeply woven into The Princess Diaries. As the third film moves forward, Hathaway and the creative team face the challenge of bringing audiences back to Genovia while honoring the actress who helped make the kingdom unforgettable.

Trial begins in Tupac Shakur murder case after 30 years

The long-running investigation into the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur has reached a major stage, with the trial of former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis beginning in Las Vegas. Jury selection is scheduled to start Monday in Clark County, Nevada. Davis, 63, faces one charge of murder with the use of a deadly weapon. He has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors accuse Davis of playing a leading role in the drive-by shooting that killed Shakur nearly three decades ago. Shakur was 25 when he was shot near the Las Vegas Strip on September 7, 1996. He was riding in a car with Marion “Suge” Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records. The shooting became one of the most famous unsolved cases in music history. It also became closely linked to the violent rivalry between East Coast and West Coast rap artists during the 1990s. According to authorities, the incident followed a fight at the MGM Grand casino. The confrontation allegedly involved Shakur and members of his entourage and a man connected to Davis. Investigators believe the shooting was carried out as an act of retaliation. Police have described Davis as a key figure in the alleged plan. Authorities say he helped obtain the weapon and was travelling in a white Cadillac with three other men when the shooting occurred. The Cadillac reportedly followed the vehicle carrying Shakur and Knight. Gunfire was exchanged when the two cars came close to each other. Shakur was struck four times. He was taken to hospital but died six days later from his injuries. Knight, who was driving the vehicle, suffered a minor injury after a bullet fragment grazed his head. The investigation remained unresolved for almost 30 years. Authorities say the case gained new momentum after Davis made a series of public statements about the shooting. His comments reportedly included details about his presence in the Cadillac and his alleged role in obtaining the weapon. Davis also discussed the incident in his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend”. According to police, Davis said he was sitting in the front passenger seat and passed the firearm to one of the men in the back of the vehicle. However, the identity of the person who actually fired the shots remains a central issue in the case. The other three men who were reportedly inside the Cadillac have since died. Under Nevada law, a person can face a murder charge for participating in a killing even if they did not personally fire the weapon. The trial is being heard by Judge Carli Kierny at a courthouse in downtown Las Vegas. Proceedings could continue for as long as six weeks. One potential witness is Knight, who was with Shakur on the night of the shooting. Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence in an unrelated voluntary manslaughter case. The prosecution’s case is expected to examine the events leading up to the shooting and Davis’s alleged role in the plot. The case has remained a major subject of public interest because of Shakur’s influence on hip-hop. His death occurred during a period of intense rivalry between artists and record labels associated with the East and West coasts of the United States. The killing was followed by the death of another major rapper, Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G., who was shot dead in Los Angeles in March 1997. Wallace’s murder also remains officially unsolved. For years, theories have linked the two killings, with speculation that Wallace’s death was connected to the violence surrounding Shakur’s murder. Davis’s trial now offers prosecutors an opportunity to present their evidence in court after decades of uncertainty surrounding Shakur’s death.

Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola expecting their first child together

Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola are entering an exciting new chapter as they prepare to welcome their first child together. The couple, who have been married for two years, recently sparked pregnancy reports after Osceola was spotted showing off what appeared to be a growing baby bump during a beach outing in the Hamptons. The 38-year-old actress enjoyed a relaxing day by the water with her 55-year-old husband, who appeared equally happy to spend quality time with her. Osceola was photographed wearing a dark green bikini that highlighted her growing belly. She appeared to be enjoying the summer weather as she took a dip in the ocean before spending more time with Hamm on the beach. The actor was seen wearing shorts as he stayed close to his wife and appeared to help care for her during their outing. If confirmed, the pregnancy would mark a major milestone for the couple, particularly because Hamm has previously spoken openly about not being certain that he wanted to become a father. In a 2008 interview, when Hamm was 35 and in a relationship with actress Jennifer Westfeldt, the actor admitted that having children was not necessarily part of the future he had imagined for himself. He explained that although many of his friends were starting families, he was unsure whether parenthood was something he wanted. Hamm also reflected on how a person’s family background could influence their views on having children. At the time, he said he had not firmly decided either way and was still uncertain about whether parenthood would be the right path for him. His perspective appeared to change significantly after meeting Osceola. Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola’s relationship Hamm and Osceola first crossed paths in 2015 while working together on the final season of the popular television series Mad Men. Although they met several years earlier, their relationship did not become romantic immediately. The pair were first linked romantically in 2017 before their relationship became more serious and they were publicly confirmed as a couple in 2020. In 2022, Hamm and Osceola made their red-carpet debut together at an Oscars viewing event. Around the same period, Hamm opened up about how his relationship with Osceola had changed his outlook on marriage and family. The actor previously revealed that being with Osceola helped him discover a different kind of happiness and made him reconsider some of his earlier thoughts about marriage and having children. Hamm and Osceola announced their engagement in February 2023. Just a few months later, they exchanged vows in June at Anderson Canyon in Big Sur, California. The location held special meaning for the couple because it was also where they had first met while filming Mad Men. Now, with reports of their first baby on the way, the couple appear to be preparing for one of the biggest changes in their relationship yet. Their journey from co-stars to partners and eventually husband and wife has already marked several important milestones, and parenthood could soon become their newest chapter.

Kaia Gerber speaks out on brother Presley’s addi…

Kaia Gerber is speaking publicly about her brother Presley Gerber’s long-running struggles for the first time, offering a rare glimpse into how addiction and mental-health challenges affected their family. In a new interview for Vogue’s September 2026 issue, the 24-year-old model and actress discussed the difficult experience of watching her older brother navigate serious personal challenges. Kaia also reflected on why her family’s decision to keep private matters away from the public eye did not always make it easier to deal with them. (Vogue) A family that valued privacy Kaia is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. The family has generally maintained a private approach to personal matters, particularly when it comes to their children. However, Kaia explained that Presley’s struggles affected the entire family dynamic. She said she began trying to be the “easy” child, avoiding asking her parents for help because she did not want to add more pressure during an already difficult period. (Page Six) Her comments reveal how one family member’s difficulties can influence everyone around them, even when those issues are kept away from the public spotlight. Presley’s openness changed the conversation Kaia also expressed admiration for Presley’s decision to speak more openly about his experiences. Rather than viewing his willingness to discuss his struggles as something embarrassing, she described it as an important example of vulnerability. Presley has previously spoken publicly about his mental-health and substance-use struggles. His openness has allowed the family to approach the subject differently and has helped Kaia recognize the importance of being honest about difficult experiences. (People.com) For Kaia, hiding painful experiences was not necessarily the best way to protect the family. Instead, Presley’s willingness to talk about what he had gone through showed her that vulnerability can help people feel less isolated. A new perspective on family support Kaia’s comments do not simply revisit her brother’s past. They also show how her own understanding of family support has changed. Growing up in a famous family meant that privacy was especially important, but Kaia now appears to recognize that silence can sometimes prevent people from asking for the support they need. Her candid discussion comes as she promotes The Shards, Ryan Murphy’s new FX adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, in which she stars alongside Homer Gere. The Vogue feature also explores her career, famous family and experiences growing up under intense public attention. (Vogue) By speaking about her family with greater openness, Kaia is offering a more personal perspective on fame, privacy and the importance of allowing people to be vulnerable when they need support.
