Nicki Minaj rejects claims in hotel bill dispute

Nicki Minaj has responded through her legal team after a business dispute with production company 24/7 Productions intensified in court. The rapper’s lawyers have strongly rejected claims made by the company, arguing that the lawsuit unfairly targets her personally and attempts to damage her reputation instead of focusing on the contractual issues at the centre of the case.
The latest development comes after 24/7 Productions described Minaj as a “spoiled and entitled” rap star in court filings related to an ongoing payment dispute. Her lawyers argue that such language has no relevance to the legal issues and was included solely to create a negative public image of the Grammy-nominated artist.
According to Minaj’s legal team, the remarks were designed to distract attention from the actual contractual disagreement.
The dispute centres on production work carried out during Minaj’s Jingle Ball performances and the Pink Friday 2 launch events held in New York in 2023.
24/7 Productions claims it covered a wide range of event-related expenses, including hotel accommodation, staffing, security services and production costs. The company alleges that it has not yet received full payment for those services and has therefore taken legal action to recover the outstanding amount.
Minaj’s lawyers, however, dispute those claims and insist that the hotel accommodation and related expenses were already included in the agreed budget for an artist of her stature. They argue that such costs should not be portrayed as unusual or excessive.
Her legal team also contends that the production company is attempting to sensationalise the case by focusing on her celebrity lifestyle rather than the actual business agreement between the parties.
Another key argument presented by Minaj’s lawyers concerns the identity of the contracting party. They maintain that the agreement was entered into with Pink Friday Productions LLC, not with Nicki Minaj in her personal capacity.
As a result, they argue that the rapper herself should not be held personally responsible for any financial obligations arising from the company’s agreements.
The legal team has also insisted that the disputed payments have already been made, directly challenging the production company’s allegations that it remains unpaid.
The case is scheduled to return to court on August 3, when a judge will consider Minaj’s request to have her name removed from the lawsuit. The hearing is expected to focus on whether the claims should proceed against the artist personally or remain directed at Pink Friday Productions LLC instead.
For now, both sides remain firmly committed to their opposing positions. While 24/7 Productions continues to pursue payment through the courts, Nicki Minaj’s legal representatives insist that the company has mischaracterised both the facts of the dispute and the rapper’s role in the contractual arrangement. The outcome of the upcoming court hearing will likely determine how the case proceeds in the months ahead.

Iran ready for talks with US as Tehran sends message through Pakistan

Iran has reportedly conveyed to Pakistan that it is willing to resume negotiations with the United States, opening a possible new chapter in diplomatic efforts between the two countries, according to a report by Arab media. Sources cited in the report claimed that Tehran has informed Islamabad about its readiness to continue talks with Washington at possible venues including Geneva, Doha, or Islamabad. The discussions, according to the report, would proceed under the framework of a memorandum of understanding. The reported message suggests that Iran wants negotiations to be conducted in phases. According to sources, the first phase would focus on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, followed by discussions on frozen assets and later the nuclear program. The report further claimed that Iran has rejected any initiative aimed at creating a new route or corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, which remains one of the world’s most strategically important waterways for energy transportation. Earlier, Iran and the United States had reportedly moved toward direct diplomatic engagement after signing an understanding in Islamabad on June 17, 2026. The agreement paved the way for high-level talks, including a meeting in Switzerland after decades without direct negotiations between the two sides. Representatives from Pakistan and Qatar were also present during earlier diplomatic efforts. Pakistan played a role in facilitating communication, while Qatar hosted one round of discussions in Doha. However, the negotiation process later faced setbacks after both sides accused each other of violating commitments and military tensions escalated. Former US President Donald Trump and Iranian officials blamed each other for the collapse of the dialogue process. Despite the tensions, both sides have indicated that diplomacy remains a possible path toward resolving disputes. Iran has maintained that it is open to negotiations but has rejected what it describes as pressure or threats. If confirmed, the reported Iranian message could mark a renewed opportunity for dialogue and place Pakistan in an important diplomatic role between Tehran and Washington.

Nora Fatehi breaks silence on Sarke Chunar controversy

Nora Fatehi has once again addressed the controversy surrounding the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from KD: The Devil, revealing that years of experience in the entertainment industry have helped her develop what she describes as a “thick skin” when dealing with criticism and public backlash. The actress and dancer recently discussed the controversy during an appearance on the Dream with Dr Sheen podcast. Speaking about the reaction that followed the release of snippets connected to the song, Nora said she was not completely surprised by the criticism. According to her, she had already anticipated that the situation could attract strong reactions, particularly because discussions surrounding the song became connected to broader conversations about feminism and the portrayal of women. Nora also alleged that certain influencers were paid to promote a particular narrative about the controversy. She claimed that she was aware that some people had been hired to criticize or target her, suggesting that the situation had been deliberately amplified by individuals who saw an opportunity to benefit from the controversy. The “Dilbar” performer explained that she was initially unaware of how the song would eventually be presented. She said she had spent several days shooting for the project but did not know that the material would later become the subject of widespread discussion and criticism. Rather than immediately panicking, Nora said she remained calm when the controversy erupted. However, as misleading claims began circulating online, she decided that remaining silent could create further confusion. She eventually released a clarification video in an attempt to explain her involvement and set the record straight. Nora said that despite providing an explanation, she continued to face accusations from people who refused to believe her version of events. She pointed out that the complete song had not actually been released at the time, with audiences instead seeing snippets, selected clips and AI-generated images. In her earlier clarification, Nora had explained that she originally filmed the song around three years ago in Kannada. She said that when the material was translated, she did not find anything inappropriate or vulgar because she depended on the information provided to her by the people working on the project. Since she does not understand Kannada, she said she had no way of independently evaluating the original lyrics. According to Nora, the controversy arose after the song was adapted and dubbed into Hindi. She claimed that the Hindi lyrics and dubbing were done without seeking her permission or approval. She further stated that she had not been informed about the changes and had no idea that the song would eventually be presented in that form. The controversy surrounding “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” also escalated after a formal complaint was reportedly filed over allegations that the song contained vulgar and obscene material. The issue subsequently generated considerable discussion on social media, with audiences debating the lyrics, presentation and the involvement of the performers. The song features vocals by Mangli, while its lyrics were written by Raqeeb Alam and the music was composed by Arjun Janya. For Nora, however, the controversy appears to have reinforced the importance of protecting her side of the story. Her latest comments suggest that years of dealing with public scrutiny have made her more prepared for criticism, even when she believes the narrative surrounding a project does not accurately reflect her involvement. By speaking openly about the incident, Nora has once again maintained that she should not be held responsible for changes made to the song without her knowledge or approval. Her comments also highlight the challenges celebrities can face when older projects are reworked or released in a form they did not originally expect.

India denies role in Sheikh Hasina’s planned vir…

NEW DELHI: India has firmly denied any government involvement in a virtual address that former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to deliver to mark two years since the political uprising that forced her from office. The clarification came after reports suggested that the online event, scheduled to be held in New Delhi, had official backing. India’s Ministry of External Affairs rejected those claims, insisting the government has no connection with the programme. Speaking at a weekly press briefing on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the event was being organised by a private media organisation and not by the Indian government. “The Government of India has no role in organising this event,” Jaiswal said. He added that New Delhi neither endorses nor supports the views that may be expressed during the programme. The statement comes amid heightened political sensitivity surrounding Sheikh Hasina, who has been living in self-imposed exile in India since her government was toppled following student-led protests in 2024. According to media reports, the 78-year-old former premier is expected to make her first public appearance since leaving Bangladesh, addressing supporters and viewers via video link from New Delhi. The event is being hosted by the Foreign Correspondents Club of South Asia. Her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, is also expected to participate alongside other speakers. Meanwhile, authorities in Dhaka have reportedly instructed local media outlets not to broadcast or provide live coverage of Hasina’s virtual speech. The move reflects the continuing political tensions surrounding the former prime minister and her Awami League. Sheikh Hasina remains one of the most influential and controversial figures in Bangladesh’s recent political history. After losing power, she was convicted in 2025 on charges of crimes against humanity linked to a crackdown on anti-government protesters. A court sentenced her to death, a verdict she has rejected as politically motivated and legally invalid. Her planned address is expected to draw significant attention across South Asia, with supporters viewing it as a symbolic return to the political spotlight, while critics see it as another chapter in Bangladesh’s ongoing political divide. India’s latest statement appears aimed at distancing itself from any perception of official involvement, as New Delhi seeks to avoid diplomatic friction with Dhaka while continuing to host the former Bangladeshi leader. With regional attention focused on the event, Sheikh Hasina’s speech is likely to reignite debate over Bangladesh’s political future and her possible role in it.
