Among them, 54 percent were Yemeni nationals and 45 percent were Ethiopian nationals, while the remaining one percent belonged to other nationalities. In addition, security forces detained 23 people who were allegedly trying to leave the country through illegal routes. Authorities also arrested 17 individuals accused of helping violators by transporting, sheltering, employing or concealing people who had breached residency, labour or border security regulations. Officials stressed that anyone assisting illegal entry or providing support to those staying in the Kingdom unlawfully would face strict legal action. According to the ministry, 30,679 people are currently undergoing legal procedures related to residency, labour and border security violations. This group includes 28,187 men and 2,492 women. Officials said 17,903 individuals have been referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents needed for their return, while 5,424 have been directed to complete travel arrangements. So far, 12,613 people have been deported after completing the required legal process. The Ministry of Interior warned that facilitating illegal entry into Saudi Arabia or providing transportation, accommodation or any other form of assistance to violators is considered a major criminal offence. Those found guilty could face prison sentences of up to 15 years, fines reaching one million Saudi riyals and the confiscation of vehicles or properties used in committing the offence. Authorities also said offenders may be publicly identified as part of the legal penalties. The ministry urged residents to report any suspected violations through emergency numbers designated for different regions of the Kingdom. Officials said public cooperation remains essential in supporting efforts to enforce immigration laws and maintain national security. Saudi Arabia regularly conducts nationwide inspection campaigns aimed at regulating the labour market, strengthening border controls and ensuring that foreign residents comply with the country’s legal requirements. The house discussed strategies to improve breast feeding as only 45% of newborns in Pakistan were put to breast milk within the first hour of life, resulting in stunted growth and vulnerability to disease outbreaks. WHO representative Dr. Jamshaid elaborated key indicators (Early Initiation of Breastfeeding, Exclusive Breastfeeding and Continued Breastfeeding, highlighting that formula milk must not be marketed aggressively. UNICEF representative Dr. Quratul Ain highlighted that deliveries in Punjab under skilled birth attendants have improved to around 80%, yet the breastfeeding figures remain sub optimal. This requires integrating skilled counseling into routine family planning and reproductive health services.

    Ranbir Kapoor has spoken with rare candour about the weight of playing Lord Rama in the most ambitious Indian film production in recent memory, admitting that when the role was first offered to him, his immediate response was fear rather than excitement. His answer was unexpectedly personal. “I remember when the film was first offered to me, there was so much of fear, so much of doubt. Will I be able to do this, am I capable enough?” he said. “But I think that doubt changed into gratitude very early on. I think it was a blessing, an opportunity of a lifetime, and a moral responsibility.” What made the role feel so daunting, he explained, was not simply the scale of the film but the depth of the cultural and spiritual responsibility it carried. Lord Rama is not a fictional character for the hundreds of millions of people who hold him sacred. He is a living presence in the faith and moral imagination of a civilisation stretching back millennia. “The Ramayana is ingrained in our subconscious,” Kapoor said. “Lord Rama is the conscience keeper of millions of people around the world for generations, for more than 4,000 years. He is somebody who embodies the triumph of the human spirit in times of adversities. He stands for courage, compassion, forgiveness, righteousness, and just to have the opportunity to represent that is very daunting.” What helped him move through that initial paralysis, he said, was a shift in his approach from technical preparation to something more spiritual. “Very early on, I understood that it just requires a lot of faith, a lot of belief, a lot of truthfulness, and noble intentions. Our entire cast and crew had one noble intention, and that is to tell the story as authentically as we can.” His co-star Yash, who plays the antagonist Ravana, used his moment on the panel to defend Kapoor’s casting, praising both his humility and his dedication and noting that no actor can truly claim to embody a deity. He called Kapoor a fabulous actor who had worked hard for the role, pushing back on any lingering doubt about whether he was the right choice. The panel also brought an unexpected development. The Ramayana trailer, which had been scheduled for a global unveiling at Comic-Con, was postponed just hours before its planned launch.     ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) kicked off the new fiscal year on a positive note by surpassing its July tax collection target, although a shortfall in income tax receipts and the government’s decision to reject a key enforcement proposal highlighted the challenges that lie ahead. According to provisional figures, the FBR collected Rs810 billion in July, exceeding its monthly target by Rs30 billion. The collection also marked a 7% increase compared to Rs757 billion collected during the same month last year. The strong performance was largely driven by robust sales tax collections, which reached Rs358 billion, surpassing the target by Rs53 billion and recording an 18% year-on-year increase. A significant 78% of total sales tax, amounting to Rs275 billion, was collected at the import stage, where tax compliance is generally higher. However, income tax collection remained below expectations. The FBR collected more than Rs300 billion in income tax, falling Rs23 billion short of the target. Analysts attributed the shortfall to advance tax collections made in June to meet last fiscal year’s revised revenue goals, along with reduced withholding tax rates for salaried individuals and property transactions introduced in the latest federal budget. Meanwhile, customs duty collection stood at Rs105 billion, matching the target, while federal excise duty generated Rs48 billion, slightly exceeding expectations. The July performance marks the beginning of a crucial fiscal year in which the government has committed to collecting Rs15.263 trillion in taxes under an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Meeting the annual target is considered essential for securing future IMF loan disbursements and creating fiscal space for development, defence and water resource projects. The FBR also reported encouraging progress in tax compliance, receiving around 227,000 income tax returns during July after updated tax return forms became available. Additionally, the authority issued Rs98 billion in tax refunds, approximately Rs13 billion more than in the same period last year. Despite the positive revenue performance, the federal cabinet declined an FBR proposal to activate restrictions on high-value purchases by individuals with insufficient declared assets. Had the proposal been approved, it would have limited the purchase of luxury vehicles, expensive properties, large stock investments and major cash withdrawals by non-compliant taxpayers. Economic observers say the government’s ability to sustain monthly revenue growth will be closely watched, as consistent tax collection remains critical to maintaining fiscal stability and meeting commitments under Pakistan’s economic reform programme.
