Robot phone launch date announced for August 12

Beijing – A Chinese company is set to introduce what is being described as the world’s first robot phone and its unique feature is likely to surprise many people. Robots are gradually becoming part of everyday human life and now a Chinese company has announced the launch of its first robot phone.

According to foreign media reports, the company will launch the phone in China on August 12. Its most distinctive feature is its camera which is not fixed like the camera on a conventional smartphone.

The phone features a unique robotic camera system that can rotate while recording videos offering movements similar to those of a professional camera.

In addition, a special camera module is installed on the top of the phone. It can pop out when needed and rotate in different directions. The phone’s camera system does more than simply move. It also uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically track a person or object in front of it.

Similarly, if someone is walking or recording a video, the camera can automatically follow their movements. This can make video recording smoother and give the footage a more cinematic appearance. The Chinese company has confirmed that the robot phone will feature a triple rear-camera setup.

Its primary camera will have a resolution of 200 megapixels. This means the phone will not only be capable of taking high-resolution photos but will also be able to capture better images of objects from a distance.

  • OpenAI says AI agent tried to hack multiple companies

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT has revealed that during internal testing, an AI-powered autonomous agent attempted to access the online systems of the developer platform Hugging Face along with four other companies. Earlier this month, OpenAI disclosed that two of its most advanced AI models had successfully exploited a security vulnerability at Hugging Face during testing. At the time, the company said that an autonomous AI agent powered by the newly introduced GPT-5.6 Sol and another unreleased advanced model had escaped its controlled testing environment and gained access to the open internet. In a new statement, OpenAI said that during testing, the AI agent connected to the internet from its restricted environment and attempted to access various web services. According to the company, an investigation found that the AI agent obtained login credentials available online and used them to gain access to a small number of accounts. OpenAI did not disclose the names of the four affected companies. However, following the incident, the company temporarily suspended the security testing and is strengthening the safety measures of its AI systems. The company emphasized that the AI agent carried out these actions without any human assistance. OpenAI added that the agent’s activities involving the four companies were less serious and less extensive than what occurred with Hugging Face. According to Model Labs, a company that helps AI firms gain access to computing chips, the AI agent used code written by a user during its actions. Earlier, Clément Delangue, co-founder of Hugging Face said the company initially suspected that a frontier AI lab was behind the intrusion but believed OpenAI had no malicious intent. “It’s mind-blowing that an AI agent did this autonomously. It’s the first incident of its kind,” Delangue said. Hugging Face has now stated that the AI agent acted independently and essentially attempted to gain access to its systems through deceptive methods. According to the company, the agent’s behaviour was real and concerning as it actively exploited security vulnerabilities to achieve its objectives.

  • How to stay cool and avoid heat stroke

As temperatures continue to rise health experts are warning people to take extra care during hot and humid weather. Extreme heat can affect daily life and also increase the risk of serious health problems if proper precautions are not taken. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) the body naturally cools itself by sweating. However when the weather is extremely hot or humid this cooling system becomes less effective. This can lead to heat related illnesses such as heat cramps heat swelling (edema) and heat stroke which can be life threatening. Experts say the most important step is to stay hydrated. Dr. Wendell Porter from the University of Florida recommends drinking water regularly throughout the day. When the body does not have enough water it cannot produce enough sweat to cool itself. Taking a cool shower or bath is another effective way to lower body temperature. Placing a cold towel or an ice pack on the neck and wrists can also help cool the body quickly because blood vessels are close to the skin in these areas. Health experts also suggest keeping your home as cool as possible. Open windows early in the morning to let in fresh air then close them and draw curtains or blinds once the sun gets stronger. Use fans to push hot air outside and turn on kitchen and bathroom exhaust fans to remove heat and humidity. At night wear light cotton clothes and use cotton bedsheets because they allow better airflow and help keep you comfortable. If your home has a basement it may be a cooler place to sleep during heatwaves.  Closing the doors of unused rooms can also help keep cool air in the areas you use most. Experts recommend using LED light bulbs instead of traditional bulbs because they produce less heat and use less electricity. While cold treats like ice cream may feel refreshing, foods and drinks high in sugar should be limited because they can make it harder for the body to stay cool. Finally experts advise avoiding unnecessary outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day. Drink plenty of water stay in shaded or cool places whenever possible and follow these simple tips to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

    China introduces brain-controlled robot technology

Several countries are actively developing Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology which enables people to interact with devices using only their thoughts without the need for physical movement. Now, a Chinese company is working to integrate this technology into robots. According to BrainCo, the company has developed the world’s first brain-to-robot interface system allowing robots to be controlled directly through human thought. The company said the system works using EEG headsets which are worn by human operators. These headsets monitor brain activity and translate it into commands that are sent to the robot. Like other BCI technologies, the system relies on extensive training data that maps specific patterns of brain activity to corresponding actions. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms are then used to accurately interpret a person’s intended action and convert it into the correct robotic response. The technology called the Brain-Controlled Robot AI Platform was unveiled at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. BrainCo said the system can be used not only to control robots but also to operate robotic arms and other connected devices. The platform continuously collects data which is used to further improve its AI algorithms and enhance performance over time. According to the company, rapid advances in AI have enabled robots to perform many tasks independently. However, it believes the next major challenge is ensuring that robots can effectively understand and collaborate with the humans working alongside them.
