Suri Cruise has reportedly taken a significant personal step by legally changing her last name, marking a new chapter as she continues building her own identity. According to newly surfaced public records, the 20-year-old daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is now legally known as Suri Noelle, replacing the famous Cruise surname with her mother Katie Holmes’ middle name. 

The legal name change came to light after voter registration records in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, showed Suri registered under the name Suri Noelle while attending Carnegie Mellon University. Under Pennsylvania law, voters must register using their legal name, confirming that the change had already been completed. Reports suggest the legal process likely took place in New York before she left for college, as no filing appears in Pennsylvania records. 

Although the update has only recently attracted widespread attention, Suri has been using the name “Noelle” publicly for some time. She was listed as Suri Noelle in the program for her LaGuardia High School graduation in June 2024 and has continued using the name in college theater productions. The choice is widely viewed as a tribute to her mother, whose full name is Kate Noelle Holmes. 

The name change has also renewed public interest in Suri’s relationship with her father. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorced in 2012, and Holmes has largely raised Suri out of the public spotlight ever since. Over the years, multiple reports have indicated that Suri and her father have remained estranged, although neither has publicly discussed the nature of their relationship. 

Now entering adulthood, Suri appears focused on carving out her own path. She is currently studying musical theater at Carnegie Mellon University and has participated in several stage productions while maintaining a relatively private life. Friends and supporters say she has chosen to concentrate on her education and creative ambitions rather than the intense media attention that has followed her since birth. 

Katie Holmes has often spoken proudly about her daughter, describing this period as an exciting time of growth and self-discovery. While Holmes has generally avoided discussing Suri’s personal decisions, she has consistently supported her daughter’s independence and privacy. 

Neither Tom Cruise nor Katie Holmes has publicly commented on the legal name change. Still, the decision marks an important milestone for Suri as she steps further into adulthood.     Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a major scientific breakthrough by confirming the presence of lithium in underground geothermal formation water, also known as brine. The discovery is the first of its kind in Pakistan and is being seen as an important step towards exploring new sources of critical minerals needed for clean energy technologies. The discovery was made under OGDCL’s pilot geothermal programme. According to officials, advanced geochemical testing was carried out on formation water collected from a successfully tested high-temperature geothermal well. The analysis confirmed the presence of lithium in concentrations comparable to those found in some of the world’s well-known lithium-bearing geothermal brine resources. Senior OGDCL officials said this is the first confirmed lithium discovery from geothermal brine in Pakistan. They described the development as a significant achievement for the country’s energy and mineral exploration sector. The finding places Pakistan among a growing group of countries investigating geothermal resources as a potential source of lithium. Lithium has become one of the world’s most sought-after minerals due to the rapid expansion of clean energy technologies. It is a key component in rechargeable batteries used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, smartphones, laptops and many other electronic devices. Global demand for lithium has increased sharply as countries move towards renewable energy and low-carbon transportation. Experts say geothermal brine is emerging as an alternative source of lithium in several parts of the world. Unlike traditional mining, lithium extraction from geothermal water has the potential to combine energy production with mineral recovery, although commercial development requires extensive research and investment. Officials stressed that the latest discovery does not mean commercial production will begin immediately. Further geological studies, laboratory testing and feasibility assessments will be required to determine the size of the lithium resource, the concentration of the mineral and whether extraction would be commercially viable. The discovery is expected to encourage more investment in Pakistan’s geothermal and mineral exploration sectors. Researchers believe additional exploration could identify other areas with similar geological conditions and expand the country’s knowledge of its underground mineral resources.

Bukhari claimed that the election outcome had increased frustration within an unnamed political party. Referring to Bilawal’s recent remarks, she accused him of trying to mock the PML-N leadership while avoiding a discussion of his party’s performance in Sindh. She challenged the PPP chairman to present the achievements of his party’s 18-year rule in Sindh, particularly in Karachi. She questioned why the city still lacked an effective public transport system and why municipal authorities struggled to manage waste collection. Comparing the performance of the Punjab and Sindh governments, Bukhari highlighted several initiatives launched under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, including public transport projects, the provision of laptops and scholarships to students, air ambulance services, improved drainage equipment and development schemes across the province. Bukhari further criticised the PPP’s record on education, saying students in Sindh continued to raise concerns over access to educational opportunities, while the Punjab government had expanded scholarship and laptop programmes for young people. She also defended the Punjab government’s response to heavy rainfall, saying authorities had equipped the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) with modern machinery to deal with urban flooding and drainage challenges. Bukhari invited Bilawal to visit Punjab and see its development projects firsthand, saying he should compare the performance of the two provinces before criticising Punjab’s infrastructure. Turning to the AJK election results, she said the people had clearly expressed their preference through their votes and urged all political parties to accept the outcome rather than question the public’s choice.

Trump said he had agreed to suspend military action for the time being, provided that negotiations lead to a rapid and meaningful agreement. He added that the decision was made in the interest of regional stability, global security and the future prosperity of Iran. He also claimed that Israel supports the diplomatic approach, although Israeli officials had not publicly commented on the statement. Despite the temporary pause, tensions remain high across the region. Iranian officials warned that any military action by the United States or its allies would trigger an immediate and decisive response. Tehran maintained that it would defend its sovereignty against any form of aggression. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held separate telephone conversations with senior officials from Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia to discuss the rapidly evolving regional situation. During the talks, he warned that any attack on Iran would have serious consequences for regional peace and stability. Araqchi also stressed that Iran would respond proportionately if the United States, Israel or any regional country participated in military action against Iranian territory. The discussions focused on preventing further escalation and encouraging diplomatic efforts to avoid a wider conflict. Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also held talks with President Trump to seek clarification on Washington’s plans regarding Iran. Iranian media affiliated with the country’s security establishment warned that attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure could result in retaliatory strikes against oil and gas facilities across the Gulf region. The warning has heightened concerns among energy producers and international markets. President Trump acknowledged that negotiations remain difficult and admitted that his confidence in reaching an agreement has weakened. However, he said his administration continues to pursue diplomatic engagement before considering further military action. Senior US officials remain involved in efforts to secure a negotiated settlement. The conflict has already had a significant impact on global energy markets. Fighting between US, Israeli and Iranian forces has disrupted regional stability and increased uncertainty over international oil supplies. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important shipping routes for crude oil exports. Continued security threats have reduced commercial shipping through the passage, raising concerns over global energy supplies and increasing pressure on oil prices. Analysts say prolonged instability in the Gulf could further affect international markets if diplomatic efforts fail. Rising oil prices have already placed additional economic pressure on many countries dependent on imported energy. Regional security concerns have also expanded beyond the Strait of Hormuz. Maritime authorities reported separate incidents involving commercial vessels near Oman, including damage to a tanker after it was struck by an unidentified projectile. Another vessel reported a nearby explosion but escaped without damage.
