Nimra Khan divorce rumors intensify after social m…

Pakistani television actress Nimra Khan has once again become the center of attention on social media after a series of emotional posts and changes to her Instagram activity sparked fresh speculation about her married life.

The actress had announced her marriage in June 2026 through Instagram, sharing pictures and moments from her wedding ceremony held in Paris. However, shortly after the wedding, rumors regarding possible differences between the couple began circulating online.

The speculation gained momentum when Nimra Khan shared an emotional video message in which she spoke about staying strong during difficult times. She said that no matter how challenging life becomes or whether people stop understanding or supporting someone, a person should never abandon themselves because they are enough for themselves.

Following the reactions from fans, the actress had previously clarified that her married life was going well and explained that she had hidden some personal pictures due to concerns about negative attention and the “evil eye.”

However, recent developments on social media have once again fueled discussions among fans. According to reports, Nimra Khan and her husband Zain Hamid have removed each other’s pictures from Instagram and have also unfollowed each other.

The rumors intensified after Nimra Khan shared another video with a message about personal strength and resilience. In the post, she wrote that a person should remain strong enough that others do not mistake their silence for weakness.

Meanwhile, her husband also shared a brief but meaningful post that attracted public attention. His message, which appeared on July 31, said: “Finally at peace, good that I got rid of it.” The post led many social media users to question whether the couple was facing personal difficulties.

Nimra Khan also recently shared a video related to domestic violence awareness, in which a woman described alleged abuse by her husband. The actress reposted the video with the message, “We are with you.” She later shared another post emphasizing the importance of setting personal boundaries, saying that she had established limits because failing to do so had previously caused her difficulties.

Despite the growing speculation, neither Nimra Khan nor Zain Hamid has issued an official statement confirming a divorce or separation. Fans continue to discuss the couple’s social media activity, but the actual status of their relationship remains unclear.

As social media continues to fuel public interest in celebrity relationships, any confirmation regarding their marriage will likely come directly from the couple themselves.

Messi, Ronaldo face security scares at World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup may have ended with Spain lifting the trophy, but a reported police dossier has brought fresh attention to the security threats that allegedly shadowed some of football’s biggest stars during the tournament. According to a report based on an alleged leaked police document, Lionel Messi was repeatedly targeted with threats during Argentina’s campaign, while Cristiano Ronaldo and several other high-profile figures also faced security concerns. The World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, was already one of the largest sporting events ever staged. Spain eventually defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final to claim the title. However, behind the packed stadiums and celebrations, security agencies were reportedly dealing with a series of alarming incidents. One alleged threat emerged before Argentina’s match against Jordan. According to the report, a caller contacted authorities at Dallas airport and threatened an attack at the stadium, allegedly claiming that grenades and rifles would be used. Another disturbing incident was reportedly recorded before Argentina’s game against Egypt, when a threat targeting Messi was posted on social media. Security concerns escalated during the match after authorities received information suggesting that explosives could have been placed inside stadium waste bins. Bomb-disposal specialists and trained detection dogs were reportedly deployed to search the area. No explosives were found, according to the report. The security concerns were not limited to Messi. Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was also reportedly the subject of attempts to obtain information about his accommodation. In another alleged incident, a suspicious individual reportedly managed to reach his hotel while posing as a fan. The pressure extended to match officials and other players. French referee François Letexier reportedly received thousands of threatening messages following decisions made during the Argentina-Egypt match. Players including Alexander Sørloth and Jae-hun Campaz were also allegedly subjected to death threats after missing important opportunities during matches. The reported security breaches prompted authorities to strengthen protection around key World Cup locations. At one media centre in England, security measures reportedly included multiple protective layers, concrete barriers, anti-sniper screens and a no-fly zone. The revelations offer a stark reminder that the spectacle of a World Cup comes with enormous security challenges. While millions of fans experienced football, entertainment and celebration, security teams were simultaneously working behind the scenes to protect players, officials and spectators from potential threats. The security allegations above are presented as reported claims from the supplied report and alleged leaked dossier; they should not be treated as independently established facts unless confirmed by authorities.

PTI founder strong, reads the Quran and its transl…

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that her brother remains mentally and physically strong despite being in prison. Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court on Thursday, she stated that the PTI founder continues to spend his time reading the Holy Quran along with its translation, describing this as a source of strength and resilience during his incarceration. Aleema Khan also raised concerns about her brother’s health, claiming that he has been experiencing vision problems for several months. According to her, the PTI founder informed his lawyer, Salman Safdar, back in December that he was having difficulty seeing and that there was an issue with one of his eyes. She suggested that despite bringing the matter to the attention of his legal counsel, adequate medical attention had not been provided. Speaking further about his conditions in custody, Aleema Khan alleged that the PTI founder’s access to reading material has been restricted. She claimed that prison authorities had confiscated his books, preventing him from continuing his regular reading routine. According to her, books have always been an important part of his daily life, and taking them away has made his time in prison more difficult. Despite these alleged restrictions, Aleema Khan insisted that the PTI founder has remained determined and steadfast. She said he continues to focus on reading the Quran and reflecting on its translation whenever possible, adding that his faith has helped him maintain a positive outlook while facing the challenges of imprisonment. Her remarks came as PTI leaders, supporters, and lawyers gathered outside the Islamabad High Court, where they continued to call for legal relief for the former prime minister. The media interaction attracted significant attention as party members expressed concern over the PTI founder’s health and prison conditions. Aleema Khan’s comments are the latest in a series of statements from the PTI leadership regarding the treatment of the party founder during his detention. Party officials have repeatedly voiced concerns about his medical care, access to books, and overall prison environment. They have urged the authorities to ensure that he receives appropriate healthcare and is granted facilities in accordance with prison regulations. The government and prison authorities have previously rejected or disputed several allegations made by PTI leaders regarding the former prime minister’s treatment in custody. However, the issue continues to remain a point of political debate, with PTI maintaining that its founder’s legal rights and well-being should be protected. As legal proceedings continue, Aleema Khan reiterated that her brother remains firm in his resolve. She concluded by saying that, despite the challenges he faces in prison, he remains spiritually strong through his regular recitation of the Holy Quran and reading of its translation.

Achakzai urges PM to appoint new chief election co…

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to initiate the process of appointing a new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and fill the vacant positions of two Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members from Sindh and Balochistan. Achakzai made the request in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 10. The opposition leader, who also heads the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) and serves as chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, asked the premier to give immediate attention to what he described as an important constitutional responsibility concerning the composition of the country’s electoral watchdog. According to Achakzai, the official terms of the Chief Election Commissioner and the ECP members representing Sindh and Balochistan expired on January 26, 2025. He stressed that the vacant positions should be filled without further delay to ensure the commission continues to function effectively. The opposition leader argued that the timely appointment of officials to these constitutional positions was essential for maintaining the ECP’s operational continuity, institutional independence and credibility. In his communication, Achakzai referred to relevant provisions of the Constitution that outline the procedure for appointing the Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commission. He cited Article 213(2A) under which the prime minister is required to consult the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly before forwarding three candidates for the post of CEC to a parliamentary committee. The committee then considers the proposed names before making the appointment through the constitutional process. Achakzai also referred to Article 218(2)(b), arguing that the appointment of ECP members from the provinces is subject to the same constitutional principle of consultation between the prime minister and the opposition leader. The opposition leader consequently called on Prime Minister Shehbaz to hold a formal meeting with him so that both sides could consult and agree on suitable candidates for the vacant constitutional positions. The demand comes against the backdrop of a prolonged delay in completing the composition of the electoral body. It is worth recalling that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously invited former National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub for consultations regarding the appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner. The invitation was extended in June last year as part of the constitutional process for filling the position. However, the parliamentary situation subsequently changed after the National Assembly removed Omar Ayub and several other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed leaders from important parliamentary positions. The move followed their disqualification by the Election Commission of Pakistan in connection with the May 9 cases in August last year. As a result, the consultation process concerning appointments to key positions within the ECP remained stalled. Achakzai’s latest letter has brought renewed attention to the issue, with the opposition leader emphasising that the vacant positions should be filled through the constitutional procedure and without further delay. The appointment of a CEC and provincial ECP members is considered crucial for ensuring the electoral watchdog remains fully functional and retains public confidence. Achakzai has therefore sought an immediate consultation process with the prime minister to resolve the matter and complete the appointments in accordance with the Constitution.

Tech firms accused of destroying books after AI scanning

Books are playing a major role in the rapid development of artificial intelligence. However, experts warn that the growing demand for printed books to train AI models is putting valuable knowledge and cultural heritage at risk. According to a British media report, several technology companies have started buying large collections of old books. The books are scanned using high-speed machines so their contents can be converted into digital data. The material is then used to train advanced artificial intelligence systems. The report claims that after the scanning process is completed, some companies discard or destroy the original printed copies. This practice has raised concerns among historians, librarians, and preservation experts, who fear that irreplaceable works may disappear forever. The project reportedly began around two years ago. In February 2024, a leading AI company hired a specialist with the task of collecting as many books as possible from around the world. The goal was to secure a vast collection of written material for AI training. Experts say the destruction of ordinary books is troubling, but the loss of historical or rare editions would be far more serious. They warn that once an original copy is destroyed, valuable physical features such as handwritten notes, bindings, paper quality, and printing techniques may be lost forever. These details are often important for researchers and historians. According to the report, AI companies are especially interested in books published before 2022. They believe these books contain mostly human-written content, making them more useful for training AI models. Newer online content is increasingly influenced by AI-generated text, which experts say could reduce the quality of future AI training. The growing use of books for AI development has also sparked debate over copyright, preservation, and ethics. Critics argue that technological progress should not come at the cost of destroying cultural and historical treasures. They are urging companies to preserve original copies after scanning them and work with libraries and archives to protect valuable collections for future generations.
