Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is embracing one of the happiest moments of his life after announcing his engagement to singer Madison Beer. Just days after sharing the exciting news with fans, the NFL star opened up about his future wife, describing their relationship as everything he has ever hoped for. Herbert spoke warmly about Beer while appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio during Chargers training camp in El Segundo, California. The interview came shortly after the couple revealed their engagement on social media, giving fans a rare glimpse into the quarterback’s personal life. Known for keeping his relationships private, Herbert appeared more open than ever as he reflected on his love for the Grammy-nominated singer.  The 28-year-old quarterback admitted that he is still taking in the excitement of becoming engaged. Smiling throughout the interview, Herbert described Beer as his “forever teammate” and said she has completely changed his life for the better. He explained that finding someone who supports him both on and off the football field has been one of the greatest blessings he has experienced.  Herbert also praised Beer’s kindness, intelligence and unwavering encouragement. Despite their demanding careers, he said they have built a relationship based on trust, communication and mutual respect. According to the quarterback, those qualities have strengthened their bond and made him confident that they are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together.  The couple announced their engagement on July 28 through a joint Instagram post featuring romantic photographs of Herbert proposing in a picturesque outdoor setting surrounded by flowers. Beer simply captioned the post, “Meet my fiancé,” as congratulations quickly poured in from fans, fellow athletes and celebrities.  Their romance first became public in 2025 after the pair were spotted together at sporting events and later confirmed their relationship with a sideline kiss before one of Herbert’s games. Since then, they have continued to support each other’s careers, with Herbert attending several of Beer’s performances and Beer regularly cheering him on during Chargers games.  Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh also shared his happiness for the newly engaged couple, noting that Herbert lights up whenever he talks about Beer. The coach offered some lighthearted marriage advice while praising the quarterback’s excitement and sincerity.  As Herbert prepares for another NFL season, he is also looking forward to married life with the woman he describes as his greatest supporter. While football remains a major focus, the quarterback made it clear that his engagement has brought a new sense of happiness and perspective. With a successful career on the field and a wedding on the horizon, Herbert believes he has found the perfect partner to share life’s biggest moments, making this one of the most memorable chapters of his journey so far.

Tom Holland hints at Spider-Man future as Sony hop…

Tom Holland has opened up about the future of his time as Spider-Man, admitting that he has started thinking about life beyond the beloved superhero role. However, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman has made it clear that he hopes the British actor will continue wearing the famous red-and-blue suit for years to come. The conversation comes shortly after the record-breaking success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has become one of the biggest box office hits of 2026. While promoting the film, Holland reflected on his decade-long journey as Peter Parker and revealed that he has begun considering the next chapter for the franchise. Although he is not officially retiring, the actor suggested he would be content “swinging off into the sunset” when the right time arrives.  Holland explained that he does not want Spider-Man to become a role he outgrows. Instead, he hopes to help introduce the next generation of heroes, particularly fan-favorite Miles Morales. The 30-year-old actor said he would love to remain involved in the franchise by mentoring a future Spider-Man, much like Robert Downey Jr. supported him during his early years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Despite Holland’s comments, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman is optimistic that the actor’s journey as Spider-Man is far from over. Speaking after the massive success of Brand New Day, Rothman acknowledged that discussions about the character’s future are ongoing but stressed that no final decisions have been made. He also expressed his hope that Holland will continue portraying the web-slinger, praising his contribution to the franchise’s remarkable success.  Holland’s recent remarks differ slightly from comments he made earlier this year, when he admitted that saying he should stop playing Spider-Man after turning 30 was something he no longer believed. Looking back, he explained that those earlier statements were made at a different stage in his life and that he now feels grateful for the opportunities the character has given him. He added that he would happily continue if the story remained exciting and meaningful.  The overwhelming response to Spider-Man: Brand New Day has only strengthened fans’ hopes that Holland will stay with the franchise. The film has earned praise for presenting a more mature Peter Parker while opening the door to future storylines involving new Marvel characters. Many viewers have described it as the beginning of an exciting new era rather than the end of Holland’s journey.  For now, neither Sony nor Marvel has confirmed when Holland’s final appearance as Spider-Man will come. While the actor is openly thinking about eventually passing the torch, he has also made it clear that he wants to ensure the character is left in good hands. With studio executives eager to keep him and audiences continuing to embrace his portrayal, Holland’s future as Spider-Man remains bright—even if he is already thinking about what comes next.

The pledge was made during the 10th session of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Trade Committee, where representatives from both countries reviewed trade relations and explored measures to enhance economic collaboration. Addressing the meeting, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, said the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Iran should now be transformed into a robust economic partnership. Pakistan seeks early refinancing of $1.3 billion C…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has formally requested China to speed up the refinancing of a $1.3 billion commercial loan as Islamabad seeks to strengthen its foreign exchange reserves and ease pressure on its external financing position. According to sources, Pakistani authorities are currently holding discussions with their Chinese counterparts to complete the refinancing process at the earliest. The two sides are working to finalize the required terms, conditions, and procedural requirements. Officials expect the refinancing arrangements to conclude soon, with the funds likely to reach Pakistan within the current month if the remaining formalities are completed on schedule. Sources within the Ministry of Finance said the government expects the timely arrival of the funds to provide much-needed support to the country’s foreign exchange reserves. The refinancing would also help Pakistan manage its external debt obligations without placing additional pressure on its existing reserve position. Pakistan made external payments of around $2.2 billion in July, including the repayment of approximately $1.3 billion in Chinese commercial financing. The government now seeks to refinance the repaid amount to maintain liquidity and strengthen its financial position. The move comes as Pakistan continues to manage its external financing requirements and maintain adequate foreign exchange reserves to meet upcoming debt repayments and other international payment obligations. The successful completion of the refinancing deal with China would offer temporary relief to the country’s external account and support overall financial stability.

Punjab launches 1st overseas digital land registry

LAHORE: In a landmark move aimed at simplifying property transactions for overseas Pakistanis, the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), in collaboration with the Board of Revenue Punjab, has successfully completed the province’s first fully digital land registration through the Pakistan High Commission in London. The initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing land services, allowing Pakistanis living abroad to buy, sell, and transfer property in Punjab without the need to travel back to the country. By introducing a secure digital process, the system is designed to make property transactions faster, more transparent, and better protected against fraud. The first transaction under the new framework involved a Pakistani citizen based in London who transferred ownership of land located in Dina, Punjab, to a buyer in Pakistan. The seller’s statement was recorded remotely through a secure digital link, while the entire legal registration process was completed electronically in accordance with official procedures. Director General of the Punjab Land Records Authority, Ikram-ul-Haq, described the successful registration as a major milestone in strengthening the confidence of overseas Pakistanis and improving transparency in land dealings. He said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to delivering international-standard public services through technology while promoting efficient and citizen-friendly governance. According to the PLRA, the service is currently available to Pakistanis residing in the United Kingdom. Authorities plan to expand the facility to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates within the next 30 days through continued collaboration between the Punjab Land Records Authority and Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials believe the digital registration system will make property ownership and transfers significantly more convenient for overseas Pakistanis while reinforcing trust in Pakistan’s land administration through secure and technology-driven services.

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed profound grief over the deaths of 10 mountaineers who lost their lives in the devastating avalanche on Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan. He assured that Pakistan will continue search, rescue and recovery operations until all possible efforts have been exhausted. In his statement, Dar extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the governments and people of Nepal, China, Oman, the United Kingdom and the United States, whose citizens were among those killed in the tragedy. The deputy prime minister paid special tribute to legendary Nepali climber Nirmal Purja, describing him as one of the world’s most accomplished mountaineers. He also honored Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi of Hunza, saying his bravery, determination and passion for the mountains would always be remembered. Dar said the courage and dedication shown by all the climbers reflected the true spirit of mountaineering. He added that their achievements would continue to inspire climbers across the world despite the tragic loss. He also praised the rescue personnel, Pakistan Army Aviation teams, high-altitude porters and emergency responders who have been working in extremely difficult conditions at high altitude. He said their commitment and professionalism deserve the nation’s appreciation. The foreign minister reaffirmed that Pakistan remains fully committed to the ongoing rescue and recovery mission. He said the government is maintaining close coordination with the embassies of the affected countries to facilitate the operation and provide all possible assistance. The deadly avalanche struck an international climbing expedition on Broad Peak while the team was moving from Camp 2 to Camp 3. The incident claimed the lives of climbers from Pakistan, Nepal, China, Oman, the United Kingdom and the United States. Among those killed was Nirmal Purja, who gained worldwide recognition after climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 metres in a record six months and six days in 2019. He had returned to Pakistan in an attempt to become the first mountaineer to summit all 14 eight-thousanders twice without using supplemental oxygen. Rescue teams later recovered Purja’s body from an altitude of approximately 5,700 metres, several days after he and other members of the expedition went missing following the avalanche. The victims also included climbers from Nepal, China, Oman, the United States and Pakistan, making it one of the deadliest mountaineering disasters in the region in recent years.

AI-generated Independence Day song released by Pla…

ISLAMABAD: An AI-generated Independence Day song released by Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives has sparked widespread debate, with critics questioning the government’s decision to rely on artificial intelligence instead of showcasing the country’s creative talent. The song, shared by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal on social media, is dedicated to Pakistan’s youth and draws inspiration from the poetry and philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, particularly the themes of Khudi (selfhood) and the Shaheen (eagle), symbols of confidence, resilience, and ambition. In his message accompanying the release, Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan’s future depends on a generation of young people who embrace knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship, and hard work. He described the song as part of the government’s URAAN Pakistan initiative, which promotes reforms and development projects under the country’s 5Es National Economic Transformation Plan. Despite its patriotic message, the AI-produced music video has drawn criticism from artists, commentators, and social media users, many of whom argue that the government missed an opportunity to support Pakistan’s musicians, composers, filmmakers, and other creative professionals. Critics say that celebrating Independence Day with an AI-generated production sends the wrong message at a time when local artists continue to seek greater recognition and opportunities. The release has also reignited broader discussions about the growing use of artificial intelligence in the creative industry. Many artists around the world have voiced concerns that AI-generated content could reduce opportunities for writers, musicians, actors, and visual creators while raising questions about copyright, digital identity, and fair compensation. In Pakistan, similar concerns have emerged in recent months as actors and performers have warned about contracts involving AI-generated digital replicas and voice cloning. Industry professionals argue that stronger safeguards are needed to protect artists from unauthorized use of their work and likeness. The Planning Ministry’s latest campaign has therefore become more than just an Independence Day release. It has evolved into a wider conversation about the balance between embracing new technology and preserving the value of human creativity, with many calling for future national campaigns to highlight the work of Pakistan’s own artists alongside technological innovation.

Mrunal Thakur warns of legal action over AI deepfakes

Indian actress Mrunal Thakur has spoken out strongly against the growing misuse of artificial intelligence, warning that anyone creating or sharing deepfake content using her likeness without permission could face legal consequences. The actress used her Instagram Stories on Monday to address the issue directly, expressing concern over the increasing circulation of AI-generated images and videos that falsely portray public figures. She made it clear that the unauthorized use of her identity is both unacceptable and unlawful. “Creating or sharing deepfake content using my likeness is illegal and unacceptable,” Thakur wrote in her statement. She went on to issue a firm warning to those involved in producing or distributing manipulated content. “Consider this your formal notice to stop immediately. Any further misuse of my identity will result in legal action,” she added. Her statement reflects growing concern within the entertainment industry over the misuse of artificial intelligence, particularly technology capable of generating highly realistic fake images, videos and audio. Deepfake content has become increasingly sophisticated in recent years, making it more difficult for audiences to distinguish between authentic and fabricated material. Thakur is the latest Indian celebrity to publicly challenge the unauthorized use of AI-generated content involving their image. A number of prominent actors have already taken legal steps or sought court protection to safeguard their identities, photographs, voices and personality rights against misuse through artificial intelligence. Among those who have raised concerns are Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Suniel Shetty and Kartik Aaryan. Their actions highlight a wider effort within India’s film industry to protect celebrities from identity theft and misleading digital content created through AI tools. The debate over deepfake technology intensified after Rashmika Mandanna became the target of a manipulated video that spread rapidly across social media platforms. The actress described the incident as “extremely scary” and stressed the need for stronger safeguards against the misuse of emerging technology. Her comments sparked widespread public discussion about the ethical and legal challenges posed by AI-generated media. Since then, industry figures, legal experts and policymakers have increasingly called for stricter regulations to prevent the unauthorized creation and circulation of deepfake content. Artificial intelligence has brought significant advancements across multiple industries, including entertainment, education and healthcare. However, its rapid development has also raised serious concerns about privacy, misinformation and identity protection. Celebrities, public figures and ordinary individuals alike have become vulnerable to having their images or voices manipulated without consent. As awareness of these risks continues to grow, more public figures are taking proactive measures to protect their digital identities and encourage stronger legal enforcement against offenders. On the professional front, Thakur is preparing for one of her biggest projects to date. She is set to appear in the upcoming action drama Raaka, directed by Atlee Kumar. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. While the movie is expected to arrive in theatres in December 2027, the filmmakers have not yet officially confirmed its release date.
