    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

The countdown to the holidays is officially on, and we offer you this week’s piece as a bit of a respite from the seasonal crunch. Of the 900+ listings currently live on BaT, nearly 50 of them competed as interesting or unusual to make it into WWW—as always, we struggled to constrain ourself to the tidy list below. So if you’re in search of more goodness, please head over to our live auctions page and try—just try—to take it all in.

Understanding sludgo’s Mile Markers: Mile 206

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

The ramp wasn’t that high. Only about up to my knees when I stood next to it. And it seemed sturdy. I’d walked up and down it and bounced on it a couple times and it had passed my boy-daredevil’s inspection with flying colors. So I hopped onto my trusty battle-worn lemon-yellow Sting-Ray and rode slowly up to the other end of the long sidewalk where I turned around and stopped. Took a moment to ask the Big Kahuna to provide his oversight on my upcoming flight then clenched my teeth as I stood up off that silver-sparkly banana-seat and began pedaling down the walk hard as I could.

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“It was slow at the Grounds for Divorce this morning—the kind of slow where it had been at least twelve hours since Mayor Goodman said something stupid, leaving the regulars to endure a conversational drought.
    Talk drifted to Christmas.
“I only want three things this year,” Chad from the Piggly Wiggly announced. “A million dollars in cash, the souls of everyone who won’t return their shopping carts to the corral, and a kitten.”
A noble list, if a little heavy on…”

Question of the Week: If You Could Resurrect One Model as a 2025 Car, What Would It Be?—WINNER’S UPDATE: A Practical Look

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

    WINNER’S ANNOUNCEMENT:

We’re back to announce the winner for our Question of the Week, where our victor will accept a $25 credit for a hat or T-shirt from the BaT Gear Store and the acclaim of their peers.

Our question this week was: If you could resurrect one model as a 2025 car, what would it be?

Many of you staked your claims on a wide variety of cars, ranging from sensible-yet-fun commuters to dependable mini trucks (remember when trucks weren’t huge?). In the end, there can only be one winner, and we’re giving the prize to the most popular nomination (the People’s Choice!), which was the Saab 900. BaT member @AsherSPG, obviously a Saab devotee judging by the username, was the first to it:

“The Saab 900! Pack the kids and all your stuff in a comfortable, fun to drive package with STYLE!”
