    “This car always stuck out with ONE simple metric that I read back when it was being tested… 50mph to 75mph, it beat out the Testarossa and Porsche Carrera 4.
    I think we know a hybrid RAV4 today could probably do this, but in period it blew my socks off to know this.
    May this Swedish Testarossa be enjoyed for many more years. GLWTA”

    The 1-2-3 4-Cam Collection, from Garage44 — Explained

    After just a couple years of racing, Enrst Fuhrmann’s legendary four-cam boxer engine was deemed ready for production use, and by 1955 it was made available in the 356A Carrera, named after the grueling and deadly Carrera Panamericana road race. This incredible collection from Garage44 presents a thorough cross-section of the Carrera program as it existed in the late 1950s and early ’60s. Each is powered by a plain-bearing version of the four-cam engine, and each represents a different facet of the Carrera ethos, which in many ways has been the guiding principle for nearly all Porsches—equally at home on track or in traffic, and able to switch between the two with ease. The 356A Carrera 1600 GS Coupe is the more refined of the trio, the 356B Carrera 1600 GT Coupe aimed principally at competition, and the 356A Carrera 1600 GT Speedster a stripped down, simplified driving machine ready for any (dry) road or circuit. Any one of them would be cause for excitement on its own, and taken together they illustrate a progression from high-speed touring to focused track use during one of the most technically ambitious periods in Porsche’s early history.

This is one of the original World’s Fair batch of 60 Mustang GTs Ford built for the 1965 New York World’s Fair, the cars that introduced the GT package to the press and the first ones that rolled off the line. On April 15, 1965, all 60 were lined up together. Henry Ford II, Lee Iacocca, and Don Frey rolled past the row. The cars then went to journalists for a 10-day press evaluation.     “Starting in 2023 these cars are turbocharged only it runs the 3gen erad rear diff that is constantly engaged compared to the clutch style of the previous model which could disconnect when not needed. The fun part is that if you are driving electric only you are rwd with instant torque.
    I trekked down from Seattle to Cali for. ‘24 with 4k miles on it. It’s my daily commuter and plugging it in at home I have only topped off the gas tank once in 2 months.
